Campbells Moccs

Last week I wrote a post about Freshly Picked Moccs and told you guys I would give an update on what I think about the shoes once they arrived. I got them in this week (yay!) and I love them!! They stay on his feet great and they fit pretty good too. He definitely has some growing room (I got size 1) but they don't look ridiculously large on his feet like most shoes that I've tried for him do.
I was worried that the fringe around them would poof/stick out but it doesn't. It lays down nice and smooth. I love the color, weathered brown, and think it will go with most of his clothes. A lot of my Instagram followers voted on weathered brown but I ultimately left the decision up to my husband and Jake. Ha! I figured a mans opinion was probably valuable when it came to this and they both voted on the same color so I went with it.

Now I'm addicted and need a few more pairs. I'm definitely going with Stone Suede....
and after that it's a toss up between sand suede....
or......camo!!

Is an entire blog post about which color shoes I'm going to purchase for my son extraordinarily boring to you or are you just as excited about this as I am? I gotta say, never in my life did I think I would get so excited about shopping for a boy. Call me crazy but I'm almost wondering if it's more fun to shop for a boy than it is a girl. Sure I'm missing out on big bows and adorable dresses. But shopping for a boy brings about a certain challenge and I kind of enjoy it. I shop for Campbell all. the. time.
Maybe baby shopping in general is just ridiculously fun (yeah that's probably it) but I L-O-V-E shopping for Campbell. Whoever said shopping for boys isn't as fun as shopping for girls was seriously mistaken.

Campbell | 5 Months

Weight: We got the chance to weigh Campbell a week ago and he was 13 pounds and 1 ounce.

Height: Totally forgot to measure him and now he's asleep. Whoops!

Sleep: Campbell is sleeping, on average, about 11.5 hours now. I put him down for bed between 7:30-8:00 and he typically wakes up around 7:15. He still takes 3 naps a day. His morning and afternoon nap last anywhere from 1.5-2 hours and his last nap is just a short cat nap that lasts about 30 minutes.
Eat: Just like last month, Campbell is still eating 5 times a day. Two of those meals include solids. For lunch it's oatmeal then fruit and for dinner its oatmeal, vegetable, then fruit. Campbell loves his food and will pretty much eat anything. I'm still breastfeeding Campbell. For the last 3 weeks he has refused a bottle and only wants to nurse. It's really not a big deal and I prefer to nurse anyway because it's so much easier but I wouldn't mind if this little phase ends soon.

Clothes: The little peanut is still wearing his 0-3 month clothes. All of his pajamas are 3-6 months though. I've put a few 3-6 month clothes on him and they don't swallow him. I think in just a few very short weeks Campbell will move up to the next size. We're almost there!
Diapers: Pampers Swaddlers Size 1. Although I noticed today that it may be time to move to the next size. Once I'm done with this pack of diapers I'm going to give size 2 a try.

Likes: Campbell loves his jumper. He plays in it all the time. Bath time is still his favorite and he really enjoys being outdoors. Campbell LOVES watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Mostly he likes sitting in my lap and cuddling with me.

Dislikes: Campbell isn't loving tummy time these days. I think he gets frustrated because he wants something exciting to happen, like crawling, but he just doesn't know how to do it. He doesn't like to be left alone for very long.
Milestones: Campbell found his feet this month! He turns to noises and sounds. Campbell is grabbing for everything now. He always wants what's in my hand--cell phone, drink, etc. I love handing him a toy and watching him grab it and play with it. We're experiencing a little stranger anxiety these days. He pokes out his bottom lip and lets out a little cry whenever someone he doesn't recognize holds him. It doesn't take him too long to recover and get over it though. He's just started to reach for me a little bit and he also tucks his head down into my shoulder. Both gestures melt my heart.

Month Five: Campbell has really grown a lot this month. Not necessarily in size (little peanut) but in mind. I swear he gets smarter every day and it's so neat to watch! Life is running pretty smoothly and I don't feel just completely exhausted and worn out by the end of the day (most days!).
All About Campbell: Campbell is such a sweet little boy. He smiles all the time and it's just so, so precious! He still thinks it's the most hilarious thing ever when we pretend like we're eating him. Campbells (left) fingers are constantly in his mouth. It's starting to drive me a little crazy! I pull them out but he puts them right back in. He hasn't been interested in his paci lately which, I'll be honest, makes me a little sad. My favorite thing is in the morning when I go to get Campbell out of his crib. When he sees me he gets the biggest grin on his face and kicks his little legs and is so excited to see me. It's the best part of my day!

Long Weekend In Little Rock

Hello all! I'm back after spending a long weekend in Little Rock visiting my parents. We didn't do a whole lot but it was nice to get a change of scenery. The girls had a blast and Campbell had so much fun too! I think he enjoyed being somewhere different for a few days.
I have zero food in my house. Partly because I ate it all last night (don't you hate yourself when you do that) and also because we were gone for so long. My agenda for the day is to make a long grocery list and get some shopping done. I'd also like to actually plan out our dinners for the week. I never do that but it always feels so good on the rare occasions that I do.

My Dad is a huge Dodgers fan. He and my Mom were in LA a few weeks ago and bought Campbell this cute little dodgers romper. We obviously had to get a family photo. Campbell looks like a giant to me in this picture! I think he's finally starting to get a little meat on those skinny little legs of his.

Freshly Picked

I was faced with a very tough decision this morning. Which Freshly Picked Moccasin color should I order for Campbell? I went back and forth about a million times and even sought out my trusty Instagram followers to help me with this difficult task.
It was tough, but I finally managed to pick one and I'm hoping they'll arrive on my doorstep next week!! Eeep!!
In all seriousness, I'm freaking obsessed with these shoes. I hope that I love them in person as much as I love them on Instagram. I've been following Freshly Picked for a long time now and was holding off until fall to order Campbell some shoes but I just couldn't wait anymore!!! I ended up settling upon #5, the Weathered Brown Mocs.
I think they're a good transition into late summer/early fall and the color should pretty much go with anything. If I'm madly in love, I'll order more. Although we may have to do a couple of baked potato nights to make it for it. (Baked Potato nights are what we do for dinner when we're trying to be cheap!!! Ha!) I love numbers 1, 3 and 6 a lot. And if you're thinking to yourself "camo??" just keep in mind that camo for boys is the leopard for girls. Right? Fun pattern, neutral....it totally works.
I was excited to see that a lot of my IG followers are just as obsessed and having an equally hard time picking out a moc color for their little ones as well. It didn't make me feel so ridiculous!
I'll definitely give you my review once I get these adorable little shoes in! Until then, Campbell will just have to continue to go barefoot since I can't seem to find any other shoes for him that I like. Or that fit.

Bentonville Farmers Market

This weekend we went to the Bentonville Farmers Market and we had so much fun! I'm almost embarrassed to admit that it's the first time we've been. I don't know what took us so long to get around to it but I can see it being our new Saturday thing! Campbell had SO much fun. He loves being outdoors. We picked up some awesome cherry tomatoes and some beautiful fresh flowers! While we were there we also decided to grab a burger at The Station Cafe for lunch. It was delicious of course. What a fun start to our weekend! We're totally going to make this our new thing and next time we're going to bring the girls. They will love it too!!
On Saturday night we went to a 30th birthday party of one of our friends/neighbors. We had a great time! Sunday we went to church and put Campbell in the nursery again. The timing of his schedule worked way better this time. It would have last Sunday too except he randomly woke up Saturday night/Sunday morning and threw us off. We waited until the last minute possible to wake him up from his nap so he would be refreshed and happy while he was at church. When we went to pick him up after the service was over they said he was perfect the entire time. Yay! Campbell was playing with a toy that belonged to the church and when we were walking to the car I looked at Scott and was like "do you think we should wash his hands?" Ha! I know, I'm ridiculous. I just don't want him to get sick and his hands are constantly in his mouth these days.
That's about all our weekend consisted of. I can't wait to do something with all of these delicious cherry tomatoes we have now. I didn't eat any over the weekend because we don't put a single healthy thing in our bodies over the weekend around here. I don't feel bad about that.

Sidekick

My little Ivy has been so precious to me since Campbell has been born. She has always been my little shadow since the day we brought her home and has truly shown her unconditional love for me since Campbell's arrival. Every single time I'm trying to get Campbell down for a nap or bed, Ivy follows me to his room, crawls under his crib and waits until I'm finished. Once I've laid Campbell down, I whisper "come on Ivy" and she gets out from under the crib then follows me back downstairs. This is not limited to just day time. For every single middle of the night feeding, this sweet girl was by my side. It makes me feel so loved by her. Even when I'm old and grey, I'll always remember that I had a little sidekick helping me get through those sleepless nights.
That's all I've got for today. I figured my little Ivy deserved her own special post. Such a sweet girl. Madison is sweet too. She comes and helps me during the daytime but at night, she stays snuggled up in bed with her Daddy. I can't blame her! I would too.

A Southern Sunday

I've been wanting to get some new pictures of Campbell so on Sunday afternoon, Scott grabbed his camera and took some shots of me and my sweet baby boy. I love how they turned out! We have an awesome nature trail in our neighborhood that tends to be mine and Scott's go-to spot for a little photo sesh. I'm so proud of the awesome photographer that Scott has turned into! I'm trying to talk him into doing it as a little side job. We could work together. I help with the poses, Scott snaps the camera :)
Here's some of my favorites from our little Sunday session.

Nursery Time

Hello Monday! Let's make this week a good one shall we?
Dinner and a movie Campbell Johnson style

Our weekend was fun! Scott and I ordered pizza on Friday night and once we put the little one to bed, we watched Divergent. It was good. Interesting. Very similar to Hunger Games. I like the Hunger Games better but that's probably because I've read the books. I'm definitely going to keep up with the movie series because I'm curious to see what happens next.
I went to the pool on Saturday afternoon. I was out there for maybe 5 minutes, enjoying the bright hot sun and the company of my neighbors. Then, out of nowhere, a monsoon struck. It began raining SO HARD. I ended up stuck in the bathroom for about 45 minutes with my girl, Nikki. We made the most of it though! Later that evening we had a couple of neighbors over to hang out on our back porch. Scott and I stayed up until about midnight and then the little peanut randomly woke up at 3:00 am so that was neat. He hasn't done that in about 6 weeks but whatever!! Needless to say, I was dragging all day yesterday!
Speaking of yesterday, Scott and I went to church and put Campbell in the nursery for the very first time. The timing didn't work out with Campbell's schedule at all but we don't want to miss out on church anymore so we just had to work around it. When we dropped him off, I told the lady that it was time for him to take his nap right away but I could tell she wasn't paying attention to what I was saying. I was a little anxious the entire service and kept watching for our little number to pop up on the screen alerting us that our baby was uncontrollable and we needed to go tend to him ASAP. But we made it through the service (all of the parents did actually!) without our number flashing. Once church was over, we immediately headed over to pick up our little peanut. He was just chillin and seemed fine. The girl handed him to me and said "we had some trouble with him at first but then he finally took a nap and woke up a completely different baby." Whoops! In Campbell's defense, I told them that he needed to go to sleep right away and (just like I suspected) they clearly didn't listen to me. I was hoping he would nap the entire church service but I'm guessing he got in a little 30 minute cat nap. A rocky start but other than that everything else about our first church nursery experience was really good. Now I'm just praying he doesn't get sick this week because I'm a little nervous about that. I'm glad we did it though and I'm looking forward to getting back to church. Life doesn't feel right without it!!
