Chopped

Today I did something that I've been wanting to do for a while but just haven't been brave enough to do. I chopped off all of my hair! Well.....at least it feels like I did. My hair hasn't been this short since I was in college but I'm loving it! I was in need of a change. Clearly. I've had the same haircut for nearly a decade.
I searched on Pinterest to get some hair inspiration and took this photo of the lovely Olivia P (anyone else think Olivia's style is complete perfection, head to toe?) to my hairstylist and told her this is what I wanted. And it's what I got.
My new do feels so nice and fresh. I haven't done anything different with my hair in so long so the change feels good.

Stuff

This weekend I participated in my neighborhoods garage sale. Our neighborhood typically does one every fall and I must admit, I really enjoy having a garage sale. I love going through my house and purging. I love pricing. I love the excitement of waking up early in the morning, sitting outside and watching my stuff disappear. I'm not afraid to get rid of anything, especially clothes. My closet has so much more hanging space now and it feels so good! I had a great success with my garage sale and did a lot better than I thought I would. I think it's because I priced stuff SO cheap. I wanted to get rid of all of it and if anyone asked for a better deal, I gave it to them. Except for the 11 year old who tried to haggle me on a pair of brand new Uggs that I priced for $5 and she wanted $3 for them. It actually irritated me (and still does when I think about it) greatly. At $5 I'm basically giving them to you. Now that I think about it, I should have taken them away from her and said "No Uggs for you!!"
Once we wrapped up on the garage sale, we had some neighbors over to watch the game. Man, that was a tough loss. I really thought we had that one and while I'm disappointed, I'm also proud. We looked pretty good and it gives me hope for the season ahead. Poor Campbell though. Every time the men yelled with excitement for every awesome play we had, he screamed his little head off. He got over it almost as quickly as it came on but I think it's safe to say he does not appreciate loud cheers. Ha.
We opted to skip out on church yesterday so I could get caught up on some sleep. I usually get to sleep in on Saturdays but with the garage sale, I wasn't able to. I didn't realize how much I depend on that one day a week to sleep in. It really does wonders for me. Plus it's just awesome. I turn on my beloved Harry Potter movies, snuggle with my girls, and snooze my little heart out. It truly brings me such joy. Is it just me or does everyone else think that Harry Potter and naps pretty much go hand in hand?
For the first time all summer, my hydrangeas are finally starting to bloom. I don't know why they're so delayed. Better late than never though!

Campbell | Six Months

Weight: Campbell had a doctor check up yesterday and he weighed 12 pounds, 13 ounces. Five weeks ago he weighed 13 pounds, 1 ounce. I freaked out (and cried) when I discovered he not only didn't gain any weight within the last month but he's actually lost a few ounces. The doctor didn't seem concerned at all?? He said most babies drop weight at some point but it typically happens when they start crawling or walking. He said Campbell is just small. He always has been. He told Scott and I to not be concerned because he's really healthy and very strong. I asked if there was anything I could do to fatten him up and he said no. Just leave him be. My little peanut is such a little peanut. I'm very anxious to see if he gains weight when we go back for his 6 month wellness exam in 2 weeks. Campbell's weight will officially be the new stress in my life.

Height: 26 inches

Sleep: 7:30-7:00 pretty much exactly on the dot.
Eat: Campbell still nurses 5 times a day and eats solids twice in addition to that. My child loves any and all food. I let him suck on a pickle the other day thinking I would get a funny face out of him. Nope. He loved it and begged for more. It's hard for me to tell what his favorite foods are because he seems to love everything equally. I hope he's always a good eater!
Clothes: About a week after Campbell turned 5 months old we moved into 3-6 month clothes. We have so many adorable fall outfits for him and I'm so anxious for this weather to get cooler so Campbell can start wearing layers, jackets and knit beanies!

Diapers: Pampers Swaddlers Size 2
Likes: Food, bath time, and being outdoors are Campbells 3 favorite things. He still thinks it is the most hilarious thing in the world when we pretend like we're eating him. Campbell is obsessed with Ivy and Madison and loves watching them play with one another. Ivy and Madison love their little brother and when they give him kisses, Campbell gets a really big grin on his face. Campbell still loves sucking on his fingers.

Dislikes: Getting lotion put on him after his bath. He screams the entire time. He hates naps and fights me so hard on them. Campbell isn't the biggest fan of being alone, even for a short period of time. If he's in his jumper, he requires me to sit on the floor right in front of him.

Milestones: Campbell is getting really good at sitting up on his own! We practice all the time and he does great before he goes to reach for something and topples over. Campbell can feed himself with his Ella's pouch or Nuby Nibbler. If he's lounging back (in his stroller or propped back on pillows) he can pull himself to a more upright, seated position. He also likes to "help" me get him out of his car seat by sitting up and leaning forward. Campbell "talks" constantly and when I say "Momma" to him, he listens so intently and tries so hard to say what I'm saying.  He reaches for everything, and I mean everything, around him. If he's successful at getting it, it goes straight to his mouth. When we stick our tongues out at him, he sticks his tongue out too!
Month Six: Campbell has turned into such a clingy baby. I pretty much hold him the entire time he's awake because he cries and cries if I don't. Campbell is 100% not interested in a paci. He prefers his fingers instead.

All About Campbell: Campbell is a one of a kind baby! He is quick to let you know when he doesn't like something. Most of the time, he's happy and smiley and loves taking in the world around him. Strangers will come up to us in a store and he will get a huge grin on his face and smile so big for them. I love that about him! This little boy has turned into my best buddy. We go everywhere and do everything together :)
I love him so.

Fall Looks I Love

Today is the first official full day of fall and if you're anything like me, you're anxiously awaiting the cooler temps so you can pull out your booties, blazers and scarfs. While I'm rocking Campbell to sleep, I always browse Pinterest to help pass the time. I decided to search for cute fall outfits and get some inspiration on different ways I can wear my fall pieces. These looks were some of my favorites. I thought I'd share them with you all today!
After looking at these outfits, I've decided that I need:

1.) this shirt from J Crew
2.) this vest from Gap
3.) this scarf from Forever 21
4.) these boots from Target
5.) these pumps from Sam Edelman

Cute. Cute. Cute.

Cutie.

On Friday night I checked my Instagram and discovered something exciting! Campbell was selected as this week's Kickee Cutie! Yay!
A Kickee Cutie is selected by Kickee Pants every Friday. All you do is Facebook or Instagram a photo of your baby in their Kickee Pants and use the hashtag #KickeePants or #KickeeCutie. If you're selected you get a discount on your next Kickee Pants purchase. You all know how much I love Kickee Pants so this was very exciting! And surprising. I posted that pic on Instagram a month ago and had already forgotten about my #KickeePants hashtag.
Over the weekend I gave Campbell these Nuby Nibbler things and he and I both love them! I've been sticking different types of fruit in them and he loves eating from it. Plus it keeps him entertained for a long time. I wish I had introduced him to this sooner. I only have 2 but I think I need to go stock up on a few more.
We had an interesting experience on Sunday. I heard Campbell wake up around his usual time, 7:00, so I walked upstairs to get him out of bed. I sat in the glider to feed him and he fell asleep nursing. I thought that was kind of odd. He's never done that before. I rubbed his cheeks and kept trying to get him to wake up but he was out cold. So I just laid him back in his crib and he didn't wake up until 9:00. I immediately knew it would be trouble for church because he would be getting sleepy right as we dropped him off at the nursery. I still wanted to go though so when we dropped him off, I told them he was way off schedule and it was time for his nap. I also warned that getting him down for a nap would probably be the most challenging thing they've ever experienced. She told me she'd get it done and off we went to church.
Twenty five minutes later, Scott tapped me and goes "that's our number." So we flew out of our seats and went to see what the problem was. They were waiting in the hallway for us to rescue them from the screaming baby that was my child. I have never seen Campbell so upset in my life.
We apologized profusely, asked them to please not fear us every Sunday from now on, and left early so we could get Campbell home for a nap. Campbell and naps. I've never seen anything like it. I've finally figured out how to get him to stay asleep but getting him there is a whole other story. He hates them. He fights it so hard. I see babies who fall asleep bouncing in their jumper or on their Mommas shoulder....Campbell would NEVER do that. NEVER. EVER. This child. He is happy and smiley all day. Just don't make him take a nap.

Juice, Pillows & A Cozy Blanket

It's Friday and I am so pumped. I get to sleep in tomorrow (woo hoo), cheer on my Razorbacks (to the best of my ability) and spend extra time with my little family. Here's hoping it's a good weekend.
I gave Campbell some juice for the very first time this afternoon. The poor little guy has always had digestive/tummy problems and juice is supposed to help get things on track....if you know what I'm sayin'. This child has refused a bottle for about 6 weeks now. Actually, I probably shouldn't say that. He refused it for a few days so I gave up and haven't even tried giving him one for 6 or 7 weeks. He thought this juice was pretty yummy though. I diluted it with water quite a bit. I never really imagined I would give my baby juice but if it helps his tummy feel better then I'm all about it. This may be his new favorite part about his afternoons! Plus he likes to hold his bottle like a big boy and he looks pretty adorable doing it!
Last Monday I took the swaddle and Rock N Play away from Campbell for his naps and it has been a nap nightmare around here for the last 11 days. Thirty minutes was all I could get out of him--twice a day--and he has been so tired and fussy. I tried all my tricks and nothing I could do would work. Today I folded up a blanket to make a "pillow" for him and also covered him with a heavy blanket. You know, all the things you aren't supposed to do. My little peanut has snoozed hard for one hour and forty five minutes twice today. And that, my friends, is what I will be doing for his naps from here on out. I mean, I can't really blame Campbell. I prefer a comfy pillow and a nice blanket while I sleep too.
My Mom, Grammy and Grace came up on Thursday night. Gracie is going to stay with us for a week or so and the girls couldn't be more thrilled about it. I thought they were going to pee their pants when they saw each other for the first time in almost 3 weeks. They're the three best friends that anyone could have....

{RE}decorating

I have had an itch lately to do some decorating/redecorating in my house. We bought this house two and a half years ago and, for the most part, I'm finished decorating it but there's still some spaces here and there that could use some sprucing up. I always keep my eye out for anything I think may look good in my house and earlier this week I was at HomeGoods and spotted a rug that I thought would work in my living room. I talked Scott into going with me to pick it up and once we got it home and on the floor, I was delighted with the result!
I also found a few pillows to throw on the sofa with my existing ones. I was wanting to add a small bit of color to the space since the "colors" in my living room are just grey and cream. I love the monochromatic look but I'm in the mood to get some color around here. I found these pale pink pillows at TJ Maxx and they look so pretty! I love the way it all pulled together. It was so simple and so affordable as well. That makes me love it even more!
I'm also wanting to add more personal family photos to my house. I have a new baby, some cute puppies and a nice camera that takes beautiful photos and I want to show them off! I love family photos and whenever I go to other people's homes, I enjoy looking at their photos that they clearly love so much. I have a little gallery wall in the hallway leading to my bedroom and it's full of family photos. I love it. I change out the pictures a lot and even though it's been there since I moved into this house and I walk by it multiple times a day, I still enjoy looking at it.
**Detour: I knew I wanted to do a gallery wall and pinned so many ideas but when it came down to it, I discovered that pulling a gallery wall together is super hard!!! After spending a lot of time trying to make one work, I found it was easiest to just pick all of the same frame and do black and white photos. That way I didn't have to worry about color coordinating, etc. These simple white frames are from Target. I just laid the frames on the floor and arranged it a ton of different ways, took a photo of each layout, and then decided on the arrangement I liked best.
Anywho, even though I have the photos in the gallery wall, I still like the idea of having more family photos here and there around my house. I've never really loved how I've decorated my kitchen so I finally decided to do something about it. I actually didn't even have to buy anything, I just used stuff I already had but in different ways! I love my kitchen decor now and it fits the whole feeling of my house much better!
It's always so fun to do something new with your home. I love my new look and can't wait to move on to the next house project!

Tiny Milestones

It feels like new things are going on around our house every single week. Life with a baby is definitely exciting! Even the tiny little milestones are fun. Within the last week we've experienced some fun new stuff around here with Campbell.
I always feed Campbell with a spoon but last week I was curious to know if he could feed himself with an Ella's pouch. I handed it to him and to my delightful surprise, he immediately picked it up and was able to feed himself! I think it's so cute to watch him eat from them. Such a big boy!!
After church on Sunday my little family went to eat at Slim Chickens. The weather was so beautiful so we sat outside and I got such a cute pic of my boys! My happy boys. I love them both.
Yesterday me and my buddy went shopping. I'm getting kind of tired of toting Campbell around in his car seat when I run errands so I decided it was time to bust out the shopping cart cover. It gave Campbell a whole new shopping experience!! At first he was like "this is so. much. fun. I love it! I can see so good!!!!"
And then he was like "seriously Mom, we've been out shopping for over an hour now. Are we done yet? I'm ready to be done."
Another fun thing is that it was actually cold last week. It was ahhhhmazing. I turned my fireplace on and the girls and I were in Heaven! We've missed our fireplace.
Unfortunately it's warm again this week but I know that very soon we'll be back to fireplaces and long sleeves and that makes me extra happy.

Game Day Babies

Hey all! I hope you had an awesome weekend. Mine was great and I felt like I was hardly home but sometimes I really love that. On Saturday we went to our friends house to watch the Razorback game. I actually just realized that I don't believe I actually watched even 30 seconds of it. I was too busy with Campbell and talking with the ladies! I think my Razorback game day watching has come to a halt for a while. If I'm not busy with Campbell then I'm tending to other things that need to get done while he's napping. Such is my new life.....I wouldn't trade it though.
During halftime I had Scott take some pics of Campbell and Emerson outside. We got some super cute individual shots but none of them together. They were so over the photo shoot by that point. We'll try again. I'm determined to get a good picture of those two!
This is as good as we could get. Please excuse the grapes in my lap. Long story....

Church and the Miss America pageant rounded out my weekend. Don't even get me started on the red solo cup. Although it gave me some major inspiration for a possible Halloween costume.
