Trick-Or-Treat // Halloween 2014

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope your day has been fun and full of great memories! I've certainly had a fun Halloween. I got to dress up my little peanut and my nuggets and it was cuteness overload!
I have a blast dressing up Ivy, Madison and Grace for Halloween every year. Mom and I plan months in advance on what we want the girls costumes to be. For a while we've thought it would be fun for them to go with a "halloween-ish" theme and this year we found a really cute cat, bat and devil costume so we went with it! Ivy hates it, Grace tolerates it and Madison LOVES it. I always put the girls in their costumes, push a bench against the front window (so they can see) and let them check out all of the trick-or-treat excitement. They love it and so do the kids! The kiddos are always way more interested in the cute pups in the costumes than they are the candy!!
I remember sitting on my sofa last year scrolling through Facebook and melting over all of the adorable babies in their Halloween costumes. I wondered what I would be doing for Campbell's Halloween costume in exactly one year. A few months ago I saw this little duck and the second I laid my eyes on it I knew it was the one! I searched high and low for some orange tights to pair with it (they're impossible to find) and finally had to resort to making my own. Earlier this week I dyed his tights and I felt like such a crafty little Momma. Haha! I know it sounds silly but I'll always look at this costume and remember that I dyed those tights because I just had to have orange tights.
Emmy came to our house to trick-or-treat and she looked so stinkin adorable in her little lamb costume! Since she and Campbell's costumes were so similar (not planned but too perfect) we just had to get photos of them together!
Campbells first Halloween, and the girls third, will always be a memorable one! Happy Halloween!!

swing!!

Hey all! Hope you had a fun weekend. Mine was good. Scott and I actually "worked" a bit over the weekend. We've been taking photos for friends/neighbors and we had quite a few "sessions" on Saturday. It's a fun way to earn a little extra cash. We took all of our photos at Crystal Bridges because it is so beautiful there right now! Campbell tagged along. We never said we were professionals. Ha! My MIL met up with us for one of the sessions so she could stroll Campbell around while we took photos....which was super helpful. It looks like we're going to be spending the rest of our November weekends taking family photos for people. I'll do a post one day and share a couple of pics from each family. They've all turned out so great and adorable if I do say so myself!!

Grace has discovered a wonderful perk in staying at our house.
She learned quite quickly that Campbell eating = food dropping everywhere.
Have I mentioned before how much Campbell LOVES swinging? He gets the biggest grin on his face and giggles and giggles. It's so sweet!! We are lucky because the neighborhood park is right next to our house so we can pop over really easily. I love when he loves something so much. Swinging and puffs rank up there in the "greatest things ever" category for my little peanut.

Campbell | Seven Months

Weight: 14 pounds, 1 ounce according to the baby scale we have at home.

Height: I always forget to measure his height. Lately, while I'm rocking him to sleep, I just stare in amazement at how long my baby has gotten.

Sleep: Campbell sleeps 11.5 hours every night. He takes 2 naps a day that range anywhere from 1-2 hours.
Eat: I'm still nursing Campbell 5 times a day. He now eats breakfast, lunch and dinner and we've introduced finger foods to him this month. Campbell loves to eat! My Dad calls him a human disposal. Every time I start walking Campbell to his high chair, he lets out a happy squeal. It's so funny! Meal times are still a little messy but within the last few days, Campbell has gotten really great at feeding himself. Most of the food goes in his mouth now, instead of on the floor or in his lap.

Clothes: Still in 3-6 month clothes and size 1 shoes.

Diapers: Size 2 Pampers
Likes: Eating, baths, being outdoors, Ivy and Madison, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins and Wheel of Fortune. Campbell loves sitting on the floor and playing with his toys. That's what we spend the majority of the day doing. His favorite toys right now are his tambourine, stacking rings, cell phone and Sophie. He likes to watch me stack his rings then he likes to unstack them. We do that over and over and over and over. Campbell still really enjoys laying on his back and every morning, after breakfast, he plays in his jumper for about 15 minutes-20 minutes.

Dislikes: When there's no more food left. He cries and cries once he finishes his meal. He also doesn't like for me to wipe the mess off his face and hands. Campbell still doesn't like for me to rub lotion on him after his baths. He doesn't like when clothes go over his head. Sometimes he gets mad when we put him in his car seat but he gets over it pretty quickly.

Milestones: So many fun milestones this month! Campbell started sitting up which has been so wonderful and makes life way easier. He started eating soft finger foods and he also takes baths like a big boy now.

Month Seven: This has been such a great month! Campbell is so happy just sitting on the floor and playing with his toys. I hope I don't jinx anything, but naps are a piece of cake these days. I knew once we dropped that 3rd nap it would make nap life way easier.....and it has. Campbell doesn't fight them anymore. He falls asleep almost instantly and even if he wakes up when I set him in his crib, he looks at me, closes his eyes, then goes to sleep on his own. Campbell's reflux has also gotten much better this month.

All About Campbell: Seriously, Campbell is such a big sweetheart. He smiles all day long. He's pretty easy most days and is good about going with the flow. He seems to be so content now that he's able to do more "big boy" things like sitting up on his own and feeding himself. He's happiest when his Mommy and Daddy hang out with him together. Campbell LOVES when Ivy and Madison give him kisses. He gets the biggest grin on his face. We try to go for a stroll through the neighborhood every day because he loves it so much. He still takes a bath every day, thinks its funny when we pretend to eat him, and focuses really hard when we say Momma and Dada--although he has yet to say either. Campbell loves looking at himself in the mirror and if I were as cute as he is, I would too! The months are starting to fly by now and a part of me is sad about that. However, it's so exciting watching him grow and learn new things every single day. This baby is starting to turn into a big boy!

Getting Crafty {Halloween Style}

I'd like to think that, when Campbell is older, I'll be that Mom who does fun crafts during the holidays. I think it's a wonderful way to create some memories together. Plus it's just a lot of fun.....as long as it doesn't get too messy because you know I can't handle the mess!!! I came across these cute, crafty ideas on Pinterest and I thought I'd share them with you all today. I like being crafty but I'm not very good at it but these seem pretty simple to pull off.
These Monster Doors are my favorite!! I think it's such a cute and fun idea. If I could find a huge piece of paper, like the door on the bottom left, I would love to do this for my front door this weekend. Anyone know where you can get big pieces of paper like that?
I love the idea of carving a pumpkin but lets be honest, it makes a mess. And I'm not good at it---at all. There's so many cute ways to decorate a pumpkin without carving. This appeals to me much more.
These ghost jars are super cute and would be so easy to do.
The little ghost and witch footprints are adorable! I love the idea of doing one every year to see how much your little kiddos feet grow.
I'm fairly certain the dipped strawberries would be impossible to make but are they not the cutest/coolest things you've ever seen?!?! Since a chocolate covered strawberry is my all time favorite treat, I'm super in love with these Halloween inspired ones. The mummy hot dog and witch Oreo hats look like they would be pretty easy to accomplish.
These Halloween crafts seem so fun to me! Maybe I'll attempt to do the monster door this weekend?!?

RUN

This morning I hit the pavement for the first time in about a year and a half and it felt SO AMAZING.
Scott was working from home this morning so I put Campbell down for a nap, threw my shoes on, selected my favorite playlist and took off. It was so nice to be able to do something good for myself. The weather was cool and foggy which made for the perfect backdrop. Since it's been so long since I've gone for a run, I predicted I wouldn't make it far--at all. I was pretty proud of myself for managing to get through 3 songs before I had to slow down and walk instead. I would love to think I'll be able to do this every morning but that's completely unrealistic. It just so happened to work out perfectly for me to be able to do it today. I have really missed running though so hopefully I can figure out a way to do it a couple of times a week. I definitely got a runners high this morning and now I'm craving more. Although I'm sure I'm going to be super sore tomorrow.
Yesterday my Mom and I met in Ozark (halfway between Bentonville and Little Rock) so I could pick up Grace. My parents are traveling and I always watch Grace while they're away. The girls are excited to be reunited again and it was nice being able to see my Mom. Campbell came with me, of course, and we all sat in the car for about 2 hours hanging out. Mom and I meet up like this a few times a year and we always talk to each other the entire way there, eat lunch and hang out for a bit, then talk the rest of the drive back. It's our little thing and I kind of like it!

Fall Harvest

There's a really great pumpkin patch in Bentonville called Fall Harvest. It's this huge red and white tent filled with pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors that have already been picked from the field. It's where I go every year to purchase pumpkins because I think they have the best in Northwest Arkansas. Yesterday, we decided to take Campbell and Emmy there to take some cute fall photos. We took tons of pictures and so many turned out so cute!! These are a few of my favorites.
And then Jaclyn and Brad hopped in a few as well.....

I love fall! Everything about it is perfect.

Chauffeuring The Babes

I woke up this morning instantly thinking it was Saturday and I was so excited about it. I don't know how or why I got my days mixed up but I'm glad it's the start of the weekend and I'm looking forward to spending extra time with Scott, watching some football and hanging with friends.
I ordered some clothes for Campbell from Zara last week and they arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm loving them!! Zara Kids will be a new staple in the Campbell Johnson wardrobe. Campbell also got a new pair of Freshly Picked Moccs last week and I'm loving them, duh. I wish they made their shoes in my size. I'm like, super obsessed.
I'm interested in finding some new blogs to read. If anyone has any recommendations please leave a comment below. Or if you're a reader and have a blog, I'd love to check yours out! Blogs and Pinterest are my way to pass the time while I'm rocking Campbell to sleep. Sometimes he goes down easy but sometimes I'm in the glider for a looong time!! I need some new reading material :)
I took Campbell and the girls for a long walk yesterday. He was being fussy and needed to get out and the girls were way overdue on a stroll through the neighborhood. We were out walking a little longer than usual and the girls started slowing down quite a bit. So I scooped them up and stuck them in the bottom of the stroller. I'm pretty sure I changed their lives with that little move. They LOVED it and wondered why we haven't always been doing it this way.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
