My 2014--A Year In Review

January was spent bundled up in our warm home while enjoying the beautiful snow! We spent a lot of time getting Campbell's nursery decorated and Scott and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary.
February was a month of celebrating Campbell's upcoming arrival! We were thrown two amazing baby showers and got every single item on our baby wish list. I felt so blessed and loved by our sweet neighbors and friends.
March ended up being the most special month of the year for us! On the 17th our little girls turned two and on the 26th our precious baby boy decided to join the world. We weren't sure if he would be a March or an April baby. I'm so glad he showed up at 37 weeks because I was absolutely dying to meet my little Campbell.
April was the month of adjusting to our new life. It's a bit of a sleep deprived blur mixed with sweet baby snuggles.
May brought on the warmth! Scott turned 30, I celebrated my last year in my 20's, and we spent most of our evening strolling Campbell around the neighborhood.
June brought Campbell's first big milestone--rolling over! It was so exciting for us. Campbell met his cousin, Landon, for the first time and we spent Fathers Day in Little Rock.

July was a fun summer month. I went to a Miranda Lambert concert with my girlfriends and spent my free time lounging at the pool with all of my favorite neighbors!
August consisted of many visits to the Farmers Market, trips to Little Rock, and soaking up the end of summer by splashing in the pool and long walks in the stroller.
September brought back Razorback football, a bit of chilly weather, a mini living room makeover, and my baby boy turning six months old! Campbell was also named the Kickee Cutie Of The Week which we thought was pretty exciting!
October equaled multiple trips to the pumpkin patch and perfect fall weather. Campbell started eating soft finger foods which we learned is his favorite part about life. We also experienced cuteness overload by our little duck in his first Halloween costume!
November brought us chilly weather and a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in Little Rock!
December treated us well! We experienced a wonderful holiday season and Campbell's first Christmas was so delightfully sweet! We welcomed our beautiful niece, Avery Claire, on Christmas Eve and made lasting memories with family and friends.

2014 was such a wonderful year for me and my family. I feel so blessed by the good Lord. He made my dream come true and allowed me to be a Momma to the most precious little boy who I am completely obsessed with. I'm so grateful for an amazing husband who is also an awesome Daddy. My love for him grew even more this year as we walked through life together as new parents. My girls are just as sweet as ever and have welcomed their baby brother with open arms and lots of kisses which completely melts my heart. This year has been good to me.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to read here and share 2014 with me. Here's to another year behind us and a new one awaiting us!

Christmas Recap

I thought I would do a little Christmas wrap up for you all! Our Christmases (we had many celebrations between mine and Scott's family) were great! I cooked Christmas Eve Eve dinner for Scott's Dad's side. Our meal was quite delicious if I do say so myself!
The next morning Scott's mom came over for Christmas Eve brunch. It was delicious as well and Campbell got so many fun goodies and toys from his Grandma Jo Jo.
We left our house around noon and headed down to Little Rock. Right when we pulled into town we drove to the hospital to meet our sweet niece and Campbell's newest cousin! We ended up staying at the hospital pretty late (well...9:00 which is late for Campbell!) then we came home, put Campbell in his Christmas pj's and laid him in bed. Scott spend the rest of the evening building Campbell's car! The first of many Christmas Eve's that Scott will spend building stuff I'm sure.
The next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, Campbell played in his car, the girls tore into their presents, we hung out in our pj's and enjoyed one another's company.
I just love these Christmas pajamas of Campbell's! I think they're so adorable. He wore a different pair of pajamas to bed on Christmas night. They belonged to Landon when he was Campbell's age and they are so cute! Campbell wore them all December long and I am kicking myself because I never got a picture of him in them. We may have to put Campbell in them one more time so we can get a photo. I think it's so special that he and Landon both wore them on their first Christmas!
That's a wrap! Great Christmas. Probably my favorite to date!!

Campbell | Nine Months

Weight: I'm not sure exactly but I would guess around 16.5 pounds. All I know is I feel like I'm constantly switching arms when carrying him. The little Peanut is getting heavy!!

Height: Probably around 27.5 inches.

Sleep: Campbell takes 2 naps a day. For his first nap he goes down around 9:00 and the second one he typically goes down any time between 2:00-3:00. Both naps usually last about 1 hour and 15-30 minutes. He still goes to bed around 7:30 and wakes up around 7:00. Campbell has always been a side sleeper but he now rolls on his stomach with his face smashed into his mattress and it really stresses me and Scott out! How can he breathe when he sleeps like that?
Eat: Campbell is still a really great eater! He's getting much better about picking food up and it's not as messy as it used to be. I think his favorite fruit is blueberries and he also really loves pancakes. Campbell loves to drink water out of a straw. I'm still nursing 4-5 times a day and I've gotten in a terrible habit of nursing Campbell to sleep. I don't know why I started doing that. I need to stop but ugh I just don't feel like messing with it. I always thought it would be easy to wean Campbell from nursing but I'm not thinking that will be the case anymore. He knows how to "ask" now and he "asks" all the time. Whoops.

Clothes: We are still in 3-6 month clothes. The length is getting to be a problem so after I wash his clothes I pull on the legs to get them stretched out and let it hang to dry. I do put him in 6-12 month one piece rompers and they fit him great. His little waist is way too small to hold up 6-12 month pants (he can manage leggings though) and occasionally I'll throw on a 6-12 month sweater or sweatshirt and it works okay but it's big around his neck and shoulders. All Kickee Pants pajamas are 6-12 months and they fit him perfectly. Hats are 6-12 months. Size 1 Freshly Picked shoes and size 3-6 month Gap shoes.
Diapers: Pampers Swaddlers Size 2

Likes: Campbell loves playing with his toys. His favorite thing to do right now is to tilt his toy basket over and pull every single toy out of it. He loves, loves Mickey Mouse. I can sit him on my bed and he will sit completely still, stick his fingers in his mouth, and watch an entire episode without hardly blinking. His nightly bath is definitely a highlight in his day. He still loves his sisters so much!

Dislikes: Tight clothes going over his head, wiping him off after he eats. Campbell does not like our nightly routine after he gets his bath. He typically cries the whole time I'm putting on his diaper, rubbing lotion on him, snapping his pj's and zipping up his sleep sack.
Milestones: Campbell will wave bye bye and give high fives. Whenever he does, we cheer and clap for him and he gets so proud and claps with us. He's started rolling all over the place this month. I'll walk out of the room and he's in the opposite spot when I come back. He "talks" all the time and last night he started saying "Ma." I'll just go on ahead and claim that his first word was Momma!

Month Nine: Just this week we switched Campbell to a big boy car seat! We went with the Maxi Cosi Pria 85 and it seems much more comfortable than the infant car seat but it's so much harder to get him in and out of it than it was our Uppa Mesa.
All About Campbell: Campbell thinks it's so funny to be scared. I'll scare him, he jumps, then laughs so hard. He taps/bangs his hand on everything. Campbell loves to be carried and walked around the house. This is something his Daddy and Grammy do with him more than me. I mostly just sit on the floor with him and play toys. Campbell has gotten so much better with letting "strangers" hold him. He'll even reach if they ask him if they can hold him. When he gets hungry you better feed him immediately! He is really such a sweet little boy. This stage is just getting so much fun. It's fascinating to watch him. He's learning so much right now and it's really exciting to see it!

Christmas 2014

Merry Christmas everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas day. Campbell got our day started at 8:30 this morning. We kept him up way past his bedtime last night because we were having fun visiting Avery in the hospital. Therefore, he slept in. It was kind of nice being able to sleep until 8:30 instead of getting up at 7:00 like we usually do!
Mom always makes breakfast casserole on Christmas so we came down and ate a yummy breakfast then Campbell opened a few presents. Mom and Dad got him this car and he loves it. LOVES IT!!!!!
He puts his hands on the steering wheel (at 10 & 2 ha!) honks the horn and dances in his seat when the music plays. We all got so tickled watching him play in his car. It provided us loads of entertainment all day. He also got a stuffed Mickey Mouse that plays the Hot Dog song when you squeeze it's tummy and a set of drums that light up and play music. Plus an Aden +Anais Dream Blanket that I am obsessed with.
We're actually saving the presents and opening them all up tomorrow. Kyle, Jenn, and Avery got home from the hospital later this evening so we're waiting on gift exchange until tomorrow so they can join in on the fun.
The girls did not want to wait until tomorrow to open their presents. Madison tore into all of them and had a blast doing it. I love that she opens Christmas presents. It reminds me of Holly and that makes me happy! They have managed to pull the stuffing out of one of their toys already.
We ate our (incredibly delicious) Christmas meal at 3:00. We plan meal time around Campbell's naps for obvious reasons! My great aunt and uncle joined us and it was lovely having them. After lunch I retreated and took a long Christmas nap. It was soooo amazing (have you ever known someone who loves sleep as much as me?). Once I got up from my nap we went to visit Miss Avery Claire at home then came back and called it a night.
Christmas 2014 was so wonderful! It's definitely been one of my favorites to date! Watching Campbell get so excited over his car and the girls tear into their toys was so fun and brought the biggest grin to my face. I'm excited that we've extended Christmas and will get to enjoy more of it tomorrow!
I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Avery Claire Luttrell

Allow me to introduce you to the sweetest Christmas present our family received today.
My beautiful niece, Avery Claire, arrived at 11:48 this morning. Seven pounds, 19 inches and 100% sweetness. We are so blessed to welcome this little bundle of joy into our family. She has kept us on our toes these last few days and we've all been wondering when Avery would make her grand debut. We are so thankful she decided to join us just in time for Christmas! What a magical Christmas tomorrow will be. Feeling so joyful this season. Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Table Setting {Eat-Drink-Be Merry}

Today marks the beginning of our Christmas festivities! Scott and I usually hit the ground running on December 23rd and don't seem to stop until Christmas is over. It can sometimes be overwhelming but I love it. Doing it like this makes it feel like Christmas lasts many days in a row! Today we're doing Christmas with Scott's Dad's side of the family. I'm hosting dinner at our house which I always enjoy. I spent my evening last night getting the dinner table decorated which is my absolute favorite part about hosting a dinner party.
I have a little bit of cooking to do but I tried to get as much done last night as I could so I would be able to enjoy my day. Tomorrow we're doing brunch with Scott's Mom then heading to Little Rock to spend the rest of the Christmas holiday with my family. It's going to be a really special Christmas for many reasons! I'm excited to get it started!

#jakesdirty30

This weekend I went on a fun little adventure with my friends! My friend, Jake, is turning 30 on Christmas Eve and his friends and family threw him a surprise 30th birthday party on Saturday. One of his friends called me a little over a month ago and told me they were throwing him the party. She said she wanted to invite us even though it would be a far drive (Marianna--5.5 hours from NWA) and we're super busy with Christmas and kiddos, etc, and she wasn't expecting us to come but knew Jake would love it if we did. I instantly knew I just couldn't miss out on it! You only turn 30 once and Jake is totally worth a 5.5 hour drive.
Fast forward to a few weeks later at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and this is what's happening.
Myself + Scott, Jax, Ashley, Campbell, Ivy and Madison all piled (literally) in a car and hit the road to Marianna, Arkansas for Jake's surprise 30th birthday party! We were all so excited about going and knew he would seriously be so surprised to see us there.
We stopped in Little Rock to drop off Campbell, Ivy and Madison, rest a little and get dressed for the evening, then headed east for the big birthday bash.
The surprise went off perfectly and Jake absolutely had no clue that all of this sneaky planning had been going on for months. It was so wonderfully exciting being able to take part in this big celebration!
Happy (almost) 30th Birthday Jake! So glad I was there to toast you into your next decade. You are so special to me and I loved getting to see that shocked look on your face when you walked through the door. #forever29 #jakesdirty30

O Christmas Tree

I've been seeing Felt Christmas Tree's on Pinterest a lot lately so I decided I would join in on the fun and make one myself! I did a little bit of research to see what all I needed to make this little Christmas craft and was pleasantly surprised when I learned what all it entailed---basically nothing! Literally all you need is felt. I went to Hobby Lobby and got a yard of green felt for the tree. Then I went back to the scrapbook section and bought squares of pre-cut felt in many different colors. I also got a star and gingerbread stencil so I could make cute shapes. I used a cup to make the circles. I stuck the tree to the wall and voila! That's all there is to it. So simple and so fun too!!
I wasn't sure if Campbell would be interested in it this year but he loves it!! He tries to stick an ornament on the tree, and occasionally he's successful at it, but mostly he loves pulling them off.
Emmy came over yesterday and she could not get enough of the felt tree! She had a blast and didn't want to leave because she was having so much fun with it.
I'd say the Felt Christmas Tree is definitely a win! It was fun to make and cost me less than $15. I predict Campbell will enjoy it for many years to come!

Joy

I took this photo of Campbell last week when he turned 37 weeks old. He spent 37 weeks in my belly and here he is, 37 weeks out of my belly. It's kind of crazy when you think about it that way! Or it is to me at least.
These two nuggets are a mess. I wrote a post last week about their Christmas presents under the tree and they didn't stay under the tree for very long! They decided to tear into their presents and have enjoyed playing with their new toys so much. I was out of the house on Monday running a few errands while Scott was home with the babies. Scott gave Campbell a cookie to eat while he was sitting on the floor and apparently Madison took it right out of Campbell's hand and it made him cry. Haha. They love getting bites of Campbell's food that he drops. Unfortunately for them, he's getting better at feeding himself so not much food ends up on the floor anymore.
I can't believe Christmas is only 1 week away. I'm so looking forward to it this year!

Wordless Wednesday
