34 Weeks

Size of Baby: Campbell should weigh 5 pounds now and be around 19 inches long, about the size of a pineapple.

How I'm Feeling: For the first time this whole pregnancy I've been uncomfortable. My heartburn is miserable, I can't seem to keep food down because my stomach is so squished, simply walking up my stairs feels like running a marathon and bending over is impossible. Campbell's kicks can be painful at times, the pressure in my pelvis is sometimes unbearable and I wake up about 4 times in the middle of the night to visit the loo which is super annoying. I definitely don't have as much pep in my step as I have in the past and I'm crossing my fingers it's just an off week.

Cravings/Appetite: Pretty much everything I eat makes me feel terrible. Even a plain ol' bagel for breakfast gives me heartburn. I consider it a success if a meal stays down these days.

Clothes: I can still wear a lot of my normal tops and sweaters which has pleasantly surprised me. When I first found out I was pregnant I imagined I would have to spend a good amount of money on maternity clothes but I really don't wear anything maternity other than jeans.

Movement: For the last few weeks Campbell has been in the same spot but recently he's started moving all over the place again. It is seriously so crazy to watch my stomach when he's moving. It now looks like ocean waves are rolling all throughout my belly. It could keep me entertained for hours.

Changes in Me: I have become a drooler during my sleep. I wake up in a puddle and have to flip my pillow over because it's so wet. Scott tells me I snore in my sleep now too. I have no idea what this is about but apparently it's very common later in pregnancy so I guess that makes me feel a little better about myself.

Baby Purchases: I didn't make any purchases this week but I received an awful lot of goodies from my baby shower on Saturday night!
Favorite Moment This Week: My baby shower was definitely a favorite moment from this week. Another fun thing I did this week was wash all of Campbell's stuff and got it all ready for when he arrives. I underestimated how long it would take me. Clothes, blankets, sheets, towels, bibs and burp cloths, mattress pad covers and changing pad covers....it took me 2 full days! It was the most fun I've ever had doing laundry though. I'm using All laundry detergent for baby and it smells so good!

Looking Forward To: Campbell "dropping." I know it will make me feel so much better. Please Lord let it be this week.

Bath Time!

On Sunday night I gave my little girls a bath. I typically give them one about once a week. They usually happen on Sunday nights because that's the day I change my sheets. Clean sheets--clean puppies! Ivy and Madison are both good girls when they get their bath. They just stand there all pitiful like until I'm finished. When we're done, I towel dry them as good as I can then let them run wild all throughout the house. Holly LOVED getting dried with a blow dryer after her bath but Ivy and Madison hate the dryer so I just let them air dry which makes their hair curly and I think it's pretty cute! We had our camera out while I was bathing them so Scott snapped some pictures of the girls getting their bath and I thought I'd share those pics with you here today!

Party Pics

I wanted to post some "party pics" from Saturday night. I'm always so good about taking photos when it's an event for someone else but for myself I always forget. I don't have any photos with Scott or my parents from the evening which bums me out but oh well! These folks are some of my closest friends and I don't know what I'd do without them!!!
Jaclyn and Jake. She was my maid of honor and he was my man of honor in my wedding :)
The other Jacqueline also known as Jax. The beautiful home in the background belongs to her!
The hosts (minus the husbands and Jake) Ashley, Christina, Me, Jaclyn and Jax
Me and Ashley. She just relocated back to NWA and I'm so happy she's here again!

Campbell's Baby Shower

Saturday night our friends hosted a couples baby shower for me and Scott. As always, my friends threw an amazing party! The next day Scott said "if there's one thing our friends know to do it's how to throw an awesome party." Yes and yes!!
Everything about the party was a surprise so I had no idea what to expect. They catered Penguin Ed's BBQ (my fav) and had Rick's cookies and cupcakes for dessert (also my fav) with little blue and grey elephant toppers. They know me too well!! My favorite foods and desserts decorated with my favorite color pallet and animal for Campbell! :)
We had so many people show up for the shower! It was such an awesome feeling knowing everyone was there to celebrate the arrival of Campbell. It made me feel very loved. Something else that made me feel very loved was the number of presents we received. I don't think I've ever opened so many gifts in m life! Scott and I got everything on our wish list which is so awesome and such a blessing. We are officially all set and ready for our baby boy to arrive!
I was so excited about the entire evening that I couldn't fall asleep that night. My friends threw the most amazing shower, so many of our loved ones celebrated with us that evening and we got everything for Campbell that we needed....and then some! After I finished opening all of our gifts I literally wanted to erupt into tears and for a second I felt them coming but I managed to hold them back. I just felt so lucky and blessed in so many ways. Saturday evening was definitely up there on my list of best nights ever!

33 Weeks

Size of Baby: If he's staying on the half a pound a week weight gain track, Campbell should weigh 4.5 pounds and be around 19 inches long, about the size of a honeydew.

How I'm Feeling: I got sick something awful while I was in Little Rock last weekend and again yesterday but what's new. I don't think I've gone more than 10 days this entire pregnancy without throwing up. I've been a little tired and have had a couple of "holy moly that hurts" moments (I swear he's tried to come out a few times) but all in all I still feel really great and pretty much like my normal self.

Cravings/Appetite: For the first time this entire pregnancy, I've actually been craving healthy foods. I think this has more to do with the warm weather (anyone else tend to eat healthier when it's warmer out?) than anything else but it's been nice.

Clothes: I've been wearing Piko tops almost every day lately. I like how loose they are on my tummy. My belly is so big these days and I feel more comfortable wearing tops that are really flowy instead of more form fitting. While I'm lounging around my house I always wear my favorite sweat pants and maternity tank tops from Old Navy that I love but are SO tight. Scott is the only person that will ever see me in those tight tank tops!
Movement: Campbell is still moving a lot even though I can tell the poor little guy is running out of room. He pretty much kicks me in the same two spots now and that's it.

Changes in Me: My belly button is shutting down! I don't think it's going to poke out, just close up and become non-existent. I'm also starting to get that line that runs up to my belly button. I actually noticed it when I was like, 5 weeks pregnant but it was so faint that nobody else could see it. It's not much darker and if I use a tan towel (you know how much I love a tan) it goes away but it's definitely more visible these days.

Baby Purchases: I found two little items at the Gap that I couldn't resist and wasn't patient enough to wait until they go on sale (I've learned Gap almost instantly puts their new clothes on sale) before I got them. Their spring clothes are finally starting to hit the shelves and it's making me way excited! Campbell has tons of fall/winter clothes that I got on sale but not many spring/summer clothes at all. Any time I find something that he can wear right away, I think it's so fun!

Favorite Moment This Week: Getting my maternity photos back! I want to blow one up and put it in my bedroom but I can't decide which one I want to do because so many turned out looking so great! The photographer is very talented!!

Looking Forward To: My baby shower tomorrow night! My sweet friends are throwing Scott and I a couples shower and I'm so excited about it! They sent out the most beautiful invitations and I literally got a tear in my eye when I saw it for the first time. It's going to be a great evening!

Love Your Pet

Today is national Love Your Pet day. I think it goes without saying how much I love my sweet girls. They're my babies and I can't imagine life without them!! Ivy and Madison are mine and Scott's entertainment. We laugh at them all the time and they always manage to put the biggest smiles on our faces.
Ivy is my little shadow. I can't go anywhere without her trailing behind me. Ivy is so different and quirky and not like any dog I've ever known. She is the boss of everyone (even me...or so she thinks) and she loves her sister so, so, so much. Ivy also loves: water bottles, bones, going in Campbell's room and laying on his changing pad, anything that doesn't belong to her, playing outside, her bed (she always curls up in the same spot), sticking her head out of the car window, Gamma, jumping in my bathtub and licking the jets (who knows??) and laying in my lap.
Madison is a mess. She has so much personality and we laugh at her all the time. Madison is full of love. She loves everyone and wants to show everyone how much she loves them. Madison also loves: playing with toys, barking, her daddy (she's definitely a daddy's girl) giving kisses, playing with toys, getting under furniture, having her neck kissed (she sticks her neck out and on top of your mouth so you'll kiss it), playing with toys, sleeping on our pillows, wearing sweaters, laying on her back in the sunshine, belly rubs and playing with toys.
Of course we can't forget about Grace!! While Gracie Grace is technically my parents pup, she feels like she's equally mine as well. Even though they aren't from the same litter, we still think of Grace, Ivy and Madison as sisters. Grace is so quiet and calm and such a good girl. She never does anything bad and you would never know she's in the room. Ivy and Madison love Grace and they're always happy when the three of them get to be together. I call them the two nuggets and the munchkin (Grace is a teeny bit smaller than Ivy and Madison) and I love these three so much! They're all as sweet as they can be and bring me and my entire family so much joy.

Maternity Photos

We got our maternity photos back and I'm thrilled with how they turned out! We used Bobbie Yocum of Bobbie Yocum Photography and she's going to be doing our newborn pictures of Campbell as well. I thought I'd share a few pics from our maternity session with you all today.

Slept Away

I had crazy, extreme fatigue yesterday. I always say to Scott that Campbell must be having a big growth spurt on days when I'm flat out exhausted and I did nothing to get that way. I woke up at 8:30 which is really late for me. I usually wake up when Scott's alarm goes off at 7 but sometimes I wake up on my own around 6:40. I had breakfast and took a shower but doing those two small things wore me out. I crawled back into bed and didn't wake up until 11:45. Then I was famished so I ate a sandwich and attempted to move forward with my day but I just couldn't. I got back in bed for the second time and didn't wake up until 4:15. I literally slept the day away.
Is anyone else watching the Olympics? Scott is so into it this year. We watch it every single night....all night. I must admit I'm enjoying it quite a bit myself. Some of the stuff these people do just blows my mind! They're all making me feel extremely out of shape right now.
This weather is so incredibly nice! I just got home from Fresh Market and got a ton of stuff for Scott and I to grill this week. I'm always in my happy place when we're sitting outside on our patio, listening to music, and cooking something healthy on the grill while the little nuggets run all throughout the yard. It looks like I'll get to be in my happy place every night this week. If only this weather would stay here for good!!

Three Hours South For The Weekend

I had a great weekend! Around 3:00 on Friday Scott and I drove down to Little Rock to hang out with my parents for the weekend. I know Friday was Valentines Day but Scott and I have never really done much for Valentines. Scott always gets me some sweet treats from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and that, to me, is perfection.
We had a fun weekend in Little Rock. We got in on Friday just in time for dinner so my Mom cooked a yummy meal then we all went to bed full and happy. On Saturday Mom, Scott and I ran around town popping in some of my favorite local Little Rock stores. I was on the hunt for a coming home outfit for Campbell (the hardest thing in the world to find for a boy just FYI) and I found a really sweet little outfit from the Toggery. I'm not sure if it will be his coming home outfit or his very first outfit for in the hospital (that's to be determined) but this little number is super sweet and so tiny!! I know he'll look just precious in it.
We went to church at Fellowship Little Rock yesterday then headed back to our home here in NWA. The weather was absolutely wonderful yesterday and it will be all week! I always want to break out the dresses and flip flops when it feels like this but I never do because even though it's in the 60's, dresses and flip flops in February seems inappropriate. Anyone else agree or is that just me?
We got home just in time for dinner so we swung by Fresh Market to pick up some sausage, fruits and cheeses to eat. Scott and I have a platter like this for dinner occasionally and I think it's my favorite kind of meal to have. We should really eat like this more often....

32 Weeks

Size of Baby: We had an ultrasound yesterday because I was anxious to know the weight of our little nugget. Campbell weighed in at 4 pounds, 2 ounces and measured just a tiny bit ahead at 32 weeks, 3 days. This puts him in the 43rd percentile which is completely average. Babies gain half a pound a week at this point which means if I make it to 40 weeks, Campbell will weigh about 8 pounds when he's born. The Johnson's scared me into thinking I was going to be giving birth to a 10 pounder because "Johnson's have big babies" and I literally lost sleep over how painful that seemed. Now I can rest easy knowing my little guy will be between 7 and 8 pounds when he arrives.

How I'm Feeling: This has been a really good week! It's funny how some weeks I feel completely normal and some I don't. I've been hopping in the bed fairly early all week because I've been pretty tired at the end of the day but other than that I've felt awesome!

Cravings/Appetite: I've been eating a more bland diet to try to help with my heartburn and it's made such a huge difference. Lot's of sandwiches for me this week.
Clothes: I'm really starting to miss being able to wear whatever I want in my closet. I browse through clothing stores and see cute outfits on the mannequins and wish I could try something on. At this stage there's no point in shopping anymore. My clothing budget goes to Campbell now but that's okay because it's more fun to buy him clothes anyway.

Movement: Campbell hasn't slowed down yet and is still just a moving. He's head down now and getting prepped to come greet us!

Changes in Me: Because Campbell is head down it has made for some extremely uncomfortable moments. I thought it seemed a little early to have this happen but apparently it's not and I assume the pressure is only going to get worse the bigger he gets. In the past I've always really hoped that he would be an April baby simply because April seems like a really nice month to have a birthday. However, if he decides he wants to come in March I am 100% okay with that.

Baby Purchases: I bought two Polo rompers this week that I think are pretty cute. Every man needs a couple of classic Ralph Lauren pieces hanging in his closet, right? I'm trying really hard to mix up Campbell's wardrobe because for the most part, he's going to look like a walking Gap ad.
Favorite Moment This Week: Getting to see Campbell on an ultrasound one last time before he makes his big debut! He was so much more squished than he was 6 weeks ago and I could tell he's really fattened up. We got to watch him on 4D for a little bit and we took a picture of him holding his foot with his hand and touching his big toe to his nose. Limber little fella!

Looking Forward To: Seeing my family this weekend! Scott and I are headed to Little Rock today for no reason other than to hang out with my parents. I'm excited about seeing them.

Three Things For Thursday

Last night I made my favorite dessert, chocolate dipped strawberries. Strawberries and chocolate chips (the milk chocolate Ghirardelli ones are the best) are two things that can always be found in the Johnson house. I love to melt a small handful of chocolate chips and dip strawberries in it for a little treat after dinner. I will never, ever get tired of it!!
Scott and I took this picture of the three little nuggets, who just so happened to be lounging in the glider, to put in a frame in Campbell's room. I think it's so sweet! The girls are always hanging out in Campbell's room. I don't know why they love it so much but it is officially their favorite room in the house. I think they know someone special is about to live there! :)
Speaking of someone special, Scott and I got to check in on and take a look at our little boy this morning! He's looking just perfect!!! More on that tomorrow...

Who Ate My Cake?

Yesterday was one of those days. I woke up a bucket of emotions. It all started with my contacts. I've been needing to go to the eye doctor for about 6 months now but Scott and I switched our insurance a while ago and my eye doctor (who I loved) wasn't covered under it anymore. So I just kept putting it off. You're supposed to change out your contacts once a week but they'll tell you, you can stretch it to twice a week. I've had the same pair of contacts in my eyes for 6 months. You read that right--six months. As you can imagine, for the last probably 2 months they have been irritating my eyes like crazy. Still, I just kept putting off finding a new eye doctor. Finally yesterday I just couldn't take it anymore. I called Scott crying (how ridiculous is that) because my contacts were irritating me and I was frustrated because I just wanted to go to the doctor I've always gone to that I really like. I was also frustrated because my prescription hasn't changed in 12 years and I just wish I could run in and pick up some new contacts when I need them but they make you get your eyes checked every year before they hand out new contacts which is just extra, extra annoying to me. Scott texted me some eye doctor numbers and the first one I called, they happened to have an opening. So I went and everything was normal just like it has been for the last 12 years and I got some new contacts so all was okay in life again. The doctor told me he couldn't believe that I didn't mess up my cornea from wearing the same pair of contacts for so long. I've really got to get better about getting new contacts but it's such a pain to me.
Then I came home really looking forward to a slice of cake I had been saving from my baby shower. This cake was extra delicious and I almost ate it after I had lunch but I thought to myself "no I'm going to save it for an afternoon snack." My mouth was salivating just thinking about how yummy my snack was going to be and as I was going to the kitchen to fetch it, I noticed it was gone. I asked Scott what happened to my cake and he told me his dad ate it!!! What? WHAT???? I wanted to cry---again.

Thankfully my hormone levels are back to normal today but I am still angry about my stolen slice of cake.

Frequently Asked Questions

I get asked a lot of the same questions while being pregnant. Today I thought I'd answer some of the most common questions I'm asked. Mostly so I'll remember for myself but in case you all may be curious about it as well.

How are you feeling? This is the most common question a pregnant woman gets asked. People ask me this all the time and I find myself asking other girls who are pregnant the same thing. For the most part I feel really great. My first trimester was rough. The nausea and vomiting was horrible. I was more tired than I've ever been and (not kidding) basically slept my life away. The vomiting hasn't ever completely gone away but it hasn't been that bad. It comes and goes so quickly that it hardly even bothers me. All in all, I would say I've had a pretty great pregnancy minus the first trimester. I've felt and still feel like my normal self 90% of the time although that's slowly starting to fade every few days the farther into this pregnancy I get.

Is Scott excited? Scott is so excited! He was thrilled to find out we were going to have a baby but once we found out it's a boy, his excitement quadrupled. He's really sweet and comes to every doctors appointment with me and he's just as into everything about pregnancy and baby as I am.

What will Ivy and Madison think? I honestly think the girls will love Campbell. I think they'll be very curious about him and protective of him. I'm trying to teach them his name and any time I go in the nursery I always say to them "let's go to Campbell's room." I don't see much changing in their lives with the arrival of Campbell. I know most of my attention will be focused on him but I think they'll be my little sidekicks and help me take care of him! My only concern with them is his toys. Madison loves toys and she already wants his stuffed animals that are in his room. Everyone says dogs somehow seem to know the difference between their toys and the baby's toys but I know without a doubt that won't be the case with us.

Are you nervous about the delivery? Do you plan on having an epidural? Maybe I'm naive but I'm not worried about labor and delivery at all (assuming everything goes smoothly of course) and I don't have any kind of birthing plan. If I go into labor naturally, I'd like to not jump in the car and rush to the hospital the second I start having contractions. I'd prefer to wait it out at home for a while simply because I don't want to be in the hospital all day. I'm going to try to wait and see how long I can go without an epidural but the second I can't take it anymore, bring it on. I really, really hope and pray I can deliver the natural way but if something happens and I have to have a C-section then I can't control that so it is what it is.

Do you want more kids? Absolutely! I want 3 but Scott only wants 2. We'll see how that plays out. Stay tuned for another 5-6 years.

Does your nursery have a theme? No theme. It's just different shades of grey and very simple. I'm waiting on the curtains to arrive then I think we'll be all set as far as the decor goes! I'll definitely share photos with you all when it's completely finished.

Are you planning on nursing? Yes. I think it will be the neatest thing ever and I really hope I'm able to do it. I think with my Mom and Scott encouraging me along the way, I'll be able to get past those first few hard weeks....assuming everything is working properly and operating the way it's supposed to. My goal is to go six months but if I can make it longer I think that will be great!

What does Scott think about your belly? My sweet husband tells me how "cute" he thinks I am all the time. He truly isn't bothered by my growing waistline and doesn't make me feel any pressure to whip back into shape as soon as possible. He knows it's temporary and sees it as a really neat thing that I'm growing a baby. Lately we both look at my belly and just laugh at how big it's getting.

Will you miss being pregnant? I will. I've loved being pregnant. Almost every day it hits me how blessed I am that I'm able to experience this. I didn't know how I would feel about my body changing but I've honestly enjoyed watching my belly grow. Every time I feel Campbell move it makes me happy. The whole process is so miraculous to me and I appreciate every little thing about it.

Are you ready for your life to completely change? Yes! I'm so excited about it. Sometimes I have moments where a little anxiety sets in and my heart starts racing when I think about how different life is about to be. I absolutely cannot wait to meet my sweet baby boy but I'm a little nervous about the drastic changes that will come with his arrival. Scott and I always come and go and do as we please and I love that. It could totally not phase me and I may be able to easily adjust but I've already warned Scott that multiple breakdowns are most likely in the near future.

Hyde Park Baby Shower

Yesterday some of my neighbors threw me a joint baby shower with another neighbor friend of mine, Darla! Our due dates are just one day apart and she is expecting her second little girl!
My neighborhood is having a baby boom. There are seven of us that are pregnant right now!! There were eight but one had her baby yesterday morning! Five of us are all due within a few weeks of one another. I love that there is such a big baby boom and I hope that all of our little kiddos will be great friends!
I had so much fun at my shower! I received so many awesome gifts for Campbell. Once I got home I stayed in his room to pack everything away and find a spot for all of my new goodies and it was so much fun! Our house is starting to look like a baby lives here!!
Scott and I are so blessed to live in such an amazing neighborhood. I had no idea when we bought our home that I would gain so many new friends. I feel like living in a place like Hyde Park, where your neighbors turn into your friends, is so rare. I never want to leave here!!
These three ladies were so sweet to throw me a shower! Scott, Campbell and I are very lucky!!

31 Weeks

Size of Baby: 16 inches long and 3 1/3 pounds, about the size of a coconut.

How I'm Feeling: I have been really sick this week. My heartburn is so bad it's literally making me throw up. I'm not sure which is worse---nausea in the first trimester or heartburn in the third.

Cravings/Appetite: I'm starting to have to cut out some foods because they make my heartburn extra bad. Bananas, cappuccino, orange juice and apparently cinnamon rolls (as I discovered yesterday) are to be completely avoided these days. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not that those are all things I eat in the morning but the punishment for having them is so bad it's not worth trying to figure it out.
Clothes: If anyone wants to be entertained you should come to my house and watch me put on wool socks. They're enough of a struggle as it is since they're so tight and thick but tack on a big belly and it's nearly impossible for me to get them on. It feels like a legit workout. Once I've successfully put them on, I stay seated on the floor of my closet and attempt to catch my breath for a good minute.

Movement: Campbell's movements have been very different lately. I can tell he's getting much, much bigger because they are so forceful it makes my whole body jolt sometimes. I got an email today saying babies move a lot at this stage and are turning their heads quite a bit and I can definitely feel it when he's moving his head. Last night his little arm or leg (I think it was his leg) was pressed up against me and I could actually feel it with my hand. It was pretty amazing. I just kept rubbing it with my fingers hoping he could sense that I was loving on him!

Changes in Me: The steering wheel on my car suddenly seems really close to me. I know I say this almost every week but I'm amazed at how big my belly is. I just can't imagine how it's going to get any bigger because it seems like it should be maxed out at this point.
Baby Purchases: I've purchased some fun items for Campbell's nursery this week. Cool knick knacks for his room, some storage bins for his closet and (another) stuffed animal. I officially have some kind of obsession with stuffed animals. I've now ordered all of the boyish ones Restoration Hardware has to offer. I also bought a baby book for Campbell. I made that a production (of course) and visited nearly every store in NWA that carries them before picking the one I thought would be best. I think it will be fun to fill out! My Mom was great about keeping up with my baby book and hopefully I will be as well.

Favorite Moment This Week: Scott had his hand on my belly one night and said to me "I think he has the hiccups." So I put my hand on my stomach to feel and sure enough, he did. I don't know why I can't ever feel his hiccups on my own but they were unmistakable to the touch. I thought it was neat that Scott was able to notice something without me. Usually it's me telling him what's going on but this time he felt something that I didn't know was happening which was kind of cool.

Looking Forward To: I'm having a neighborhood baby shower on Sunday and I'm so excited about it! I say it all the time but I truly live in the greatest neighborhood ever.

Painting with a Twist

Last week my neighborhood had a ladies night at Painting with a Twist. We do ladies nights every month or two and we usually meet up at someones house in the neighborhood. However, this time we mixed it up and decided to get together at Painting with a Twist. I knew I would have fun with my neighborhood friends because I always do but I was worried about painting because I am as far from artistic as can be. I still decided to go and figured we could all get a good laugh at my painting when it was all said and done.
We picked a tree to draw and when we arrived everyone had a blank canvas propped up on an easel with a couple of different paint colors on a paper plate. The instructor told us to start with the background so we mixed some colors together to get the blue backdrop. Once that dried she had us draw out a tree with chalk so that we could easily make changes to it if we needed to. After that we painted the tree then simply dotted the leaves onto it to finish it off. Like I said, I absolutely cannot draw or paint (I don't even have good handwriting) but I was actually pretty proud of my little tree!!
When I brought it home Scott couldn't believe I painted this all by myself. I think this painting is one of their more simple ones but who cares! I don't really have anywhere to display it but I'll definitely always hang onto it since it didn't end up being a total mess like I thought it would!
We all had so much fun at Painting With a Twist. It made for a really great girls night and I highly suggest you do it if you have one in your area! We all said we would have to go back and do it again soon.

Cabin Fever

I have cabin fever. I should have gotten out of the house yesterday but I never did. I'm sure the roads were probably just fine but everything is a little scarier when you're pregnant. The roads are icy today so Scott and I have both been trapped indoors. And I'm bored. My day has consisted of two naps, a movie, laundry and baking peanut butter and chocolate chunk cookies. That's it.
Scott met my Mom in Clarksville yesterday to pick up Grace. I wanted to ride with him but he wouldn't let me. My parents are going out of town for the weekend so Gracie is staying with us. The girls were so excited to see her!
It's just 5:30 and I'm already anxious for bed. Because that's the most exciting thing I have to look forward to. I'm thinking I'll make spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Maybe throw in some cheesy bread to mix it up. I know, we're wild around here!!
I'd love to stay and chat some more but I literally have nothing to say. Fingers crossed I can make it out of the house tomorrow.

Walking Snow Balls

We are having a big winter here in NWA. We got a lot of snow again yesterday. It was really so beautiful waking up to tons of snow falling from the sky. Scott and I got in the car to head to church when we realized being out in the blizzard was probably a bad idea. While we both hated to miss it, we decided it would be safer to turn around and go home. We passed tons of cars in ditches on our way home which was a little scary. I'm glad Scott is a good snow driver. His Dad used to live in Jersey and when Scott was in high school, his Dad always took him out in the snow and taught him how to drive around in it. It definitely makes me feel safer being in the car with him when we get hit with a lot of snow.
Since we were trapped indoors, I decided I would crawl back in bed and take a nap. When Scott asked me why I was doing that I said "because I can." I've only got a few more weeks left of being able to do what I want so I'm taking advantage of it. Later that evening we went to our friends to watch the Super Bowl and by watch I mean I just went to their house and talked about babies and home decorating the entire time. I'm just not into NFL football.
This morning I decided to let my little girls play outside in the snow. We put on our winter coats so we wouldn't get snow stuck to us. It's always worked great in the past but this snow is so loose and powdery so the coat didn't really offer us a ton of help on our little legs.
I don't think they've ever had more fun in their entire lives than they did this morning. The snow was extra, extra enjoyable and they romped and rolled and ran until they wore themselves out.
They were having too much fun to notice how cold they were supposed to be but walking ended up becoming difficult for them since they had so much snow stuck to their legs so after 45 minutes, they decided they'd had enough and were ready to come inside.
Can you believe how much snow gets stuck to them??!! It's literally like ice and the only way I can get it off is to give them a bath. I guess it's because they're so little so their whole bodies are literally in the snow. They had this snow suit at PetSmart earlier this year that completely covered the arms and legs and I almost got it for them but decided not to. I wish so bad I had gotten it now. They had so much fun playing in the fresh powder and I would love to let them go out in it again but it's such a production getting the snow off of them. Madison and Ivy would tell you it's totally worth it though.
