27 Weeks

Hello third trimester! It's crazy to be here. I was thinking to myself earlier this week "four more months and baby Bennett will be here!! Oh...wait.....three months. Woah!" Time is getting away from me. I'm getting more and more anxious to meet this little guy. Here's this weeks update.

Size of Baby: Two pounds and 14.5 inches long, about the weight of an acorn squash.

How I'm Feeling: I feel good! I have moments where my belly hurts and I have to drop everything I'm doing and just sit. Hot baths always make me feel better when I'm hurting but thankfully that doesn't happen too often. I feel like I just have a few more weeks to feel good then it's all going to go downhill. At least that's how it went with Campbell. We'll see how baby B treats me.

Cravings/Appetite: BBQ is officially off the table which is a shame because this southern girl loves BBQ. Scott pointed out that my pregnancy craving this time has without a doubt been cinnamon rolls and I've never thought about it before but he's totally right. I have been slightly obsessed with cinnamon rolls these past few months!

Clothes: Nothing new here either. There are a few button down tops that I can't wear but otherwise everything else in my closet fits. I find myself wearing certain things that I know I won't be able to wear in a few weeks. Eventually I feel like I get limited to Piko tops and I get tired of wearing them over and over.

Movement: I guess Bennett didn't like that I told everyone last week that he doesn't move very much because he's made up for it a million times over this week. He literally woke me up around 3 am this morning because he was moving so much and being so forceful. In my sleepy haze, I couldn't believe how strong his movements were. Its like he was pushing his feet against my belly with all of his might to see if he could bust outta there.

Changes in Me: I think Bennett had a big growth spurt this week which could explain why I've been feeling him move a lot more. My belly seems a lot bigger this week than it did last week.

Baby Purchases: Right before I started writing this post I got on Freshly Picked and ordered some itty bitty moccasins. I've been wanting to order one of my favorite colors, Birch, for months and months now and they finally restocked them this week. Big brother Campbell got some to match. :)
Favorite Moment This Week: Those big movements in the middle of the night/early this morning were pretty cool. It would be hard to top that. I think I'll remember it forever. It was such a surprise and nothing is more amazing than the fact that I have a baby living in my belly right now. It's the most miraculous thing in the world and I will never get over how cool it is and how grateful I am to be able to experience this wonderful blessing.

Looking Forward To: A fun weekend! My parents are here for work but they have some down time and we're going to be able to hang out a lot. Campbell has a birthday party to go to tomorrow and I know he'll have so much fun. Overall, just a nice weekend with family. Can't beat that.

A Day In The Life Photography

I've had my blog for eight years now and I've done "a day in the life" posts many times before. This time I thought I'd put a twist on it and simply photograph a day in my life. I was looking forward to it and kind of not looking forward to it all at once. A Day In The Life posts are actually a lot of work and taking photographs all day long (plus uploading and editing) seemed a little daunting. Once it was all said and done, I am so happy I did this. I will treasure that I photographed a day in our life forever and I've decided that I would like to do this a few times a year. Today was a perfect day for it. We had nothing to do and it's cold and rainy outside, so staying inside our warm home and taking photos kept me occupied. This is what a typical day in our world looks like. From breakfast to bedtime, this is our life.

Bubbles and Sidewalk Chalk

The weather here in NWA these past few days has been nothing short of amazing. I can't even tell you how much time we've spent soaking it up. We pretty much lived outside all weekend and it was so refreshing. I found some fun goodies in the dollar bins at Target (I love those things) and we were able to enjoy playing with them over the weekend. Campbell attempted to blow bubbles for the first time. It's pretty cute watching him try to do it! I decided I need to get a bubble machine for us to play with outside because I think Campbell would LOVE it.
We also had fun playing with sidewalk chalk! It's kinda messy though which sends my OCD into overdrive. What doesn't though? I thought my OCD and need for cleanliness/neatness would be forced to calm down once I had kids but it hasn't.

Scott and I got to enjoy a rare date night on Saturday which was such a treat! We never get date nights but my MIL offered to watch Campbell so we took her up on it. We sat on the patio of On The Border and had a casual but yummy dinner. We really need to attempt more date nights in the coming months. If we think they're rare now they're going to be extra, extra rare once summer and baby Bennett gets here.
We rounded out our weekend with church and a walk around the crystal bridges trails with our whole crew. Ivy and Madison barked at every dog that walked past us (which happened about every 25 seconds because everyone brings their dogs to CB) and it embarrassed us so much. They pretty much ruined what we hoped to be a nice, peaceful nature walk and made us wrap it up early. Thanks girls. We're never taking you back.

26 Weeks

26 weeks and coming to the end of my 2nd trimester. That went fast. Whew! We're about to be in the home stretch and that is just crazy to me. Here's this weeks update.

Size of Baby: Almost 2 pounds and 14 inches long, about the length of a scallion.

How I'm Feeling: I feel pretty good! I have still been getting really tired by about 4:00 in the afternoon so I have been crawling in bed really early (and sleeping great!) every night this week. This baby boy is taking up all of my energy while he's growing. That's okay. He can have it! :)

Cravings/Appetite: I still don't really eat dinner because it makes my indigestion worse if I do. I just eat a big lunch and maybe a small snack of fruit or cheese if I'm even hungry for dinner (I'm usually not). I had a diet coke one night this week which was a big, big mistake because it made my heartburn/reflux awful. I had forgotten that those were on the naughty list during my pregnancies.

Clothes: I mostly wear my maternity jeans or leggings with any of my regular tops. Getting my socks and shoes on and off is a legit struggle. I'm ready for flip flops.
Movement: He hasn't been moving as much this week as he did last week. I had a moment of small panic yesterday when I realized I hadn't felt him move in a long while. A few minutes later he started dancing to let me know he was okay. This little boy. He makes me nervous. It's just so different for me since Campbell was a wild man who moved non stop.

Changes in Me: I have reached the stage where I have to potty every hour so that's annoying. I've been walking around my neighborhood for about 30 minutes almost every day these last 2 weeks. It used to hurt my back so bad but it doesn't at all anymore. Sometimes my belly starts hurting towards the end of my walk though. My belly button is getting more and more shallow. It never popped out with Campbell. I'll be curious to see what happens this time.

Baby Purchases: We have everything done for Bennett's nursery now. A lot of his stuff has come in but I'm keeping it all stored in his closet for now. The delivery people called yesterday to schedule a time to deliver Bennett's furniture so that's exciting! We have guests coming next weekend so we're holding off on the delivery and getting one last use out of that 2nd guest bedroom before we turn it into a nursery. I seriously don't think there is one thing left for me to do as far as his room goes. We made all of the final purchases yesterday. It's so nice! I feel really on top of it.
Favorite Moment This Week: Campbell has started pulling my shirt up and kissing my belly. I'm not sure if he really knows what's going on in there but he has definitely noticed that his Momma's belly is bigger than it used to be. I always tell him he's so sweet to kiss and love on his baby brother.

Looking Forward To: Our last free weekend of nothing to do before we have a month of busy weekends. We don't have anything planned but since the weather is going to be so nice I imagine we'll spend most of our time outside!

Our Valentines Day

I hope everyone had a sweet Valentines Day yesterday! Mine sure was!! I got Campbell out of his crib and took him to the playroom where he had a special goodie waiting on him.
He was so delightfully surprised when he saw his Valentine present. Campbell LOVES balloons so the balloon was his favorite part. I also got him a Jellycat and book to match. We love Jellycat's around here. Campbell gets to pick out some books to read before bed every night and he always picks at least one Jellycat. I try to give him a Jellycat book as a gift for every holiday/special occasion and occasionally I'll throw in the stuffed animal if I feel like it's way too cute to resist. He also got some stickers and a heart shaped peep. He put his stickers all over his balloon and has enjoyed his new Valentine goodies ever since he got them!
After a yummy donut breakfast, we got ready for church then had lunch at Campbell's favorite restaurant--Cracker Barrel! Scott and Campbell came home to take a long nap while I decided to get out and run some errands. It wasn't much but it was a great day of love spent with my boys and my sweet girls too!

25 Weeks

Size of Baby: 1.5 pounds and 13.5 inches long, about the weight of a cauliflower.

How I'm Feeling: I'm still feeling really great! I can tell baby Bennett is doing some serious growing because by 4:00 in the afternoon, I can hardly hold my eyes open. I just want to crawl in bed and go to sleep. Other than that I can't really complain. I'm taking advantage of how I feel by getting as much accomplished as I can right now.

Cravings/Appetite: I'm still trying to eat a lot more fruits and greens. A lot of salads for me this week. I'm doing my best to stay away from sugar. I get way too carried away with it every time I'm pregnant and I need to do better.
Clothes: No changes here. Although I had a fleeting moment yesterday where I thought to myself I should probably lay off the heels then I realized that was just crazy. :)

Movement: Sooooo much more movement. I can see him moving from the outside now! It makes me smile so big. When I finally get to settle down for the night and relax and focus on it, it's just constant movements. I love it! Best part of pregnancy, hands down.

Changes in Me: I told Scott I must be in denial because I'm a lot less anxious about bring a new baby home than I was at the beginning of this pregnancy. I keep telling myself that I've got this. Ha! Denial for sure.
Baby Purchases: I found Bennett's coming home outfit this week! It's so sweet. I went with the preemie size. Campbell's newborn sized coming home outfit swallowed him and it looked ridiculous. It made me cry. Actually, sob hysterically (hormones after birth are crazy) and I don't want that to happen again. Bennett probably won't be as tiny as Campbell was but I still think it will fit. If not, I have some backups. I'm prepared this time! No crying over clothes that are too big on my baby. Ha!

Favorite Moment This Week: Getting Bennett's nursery really pulled together (on paper) was so much fun. I can't wait to see what it looks like when we're finished!

Looking Forward To: Thursday. Because we will officially be in the double digits and I will have only 99 days left until Bennetts due date. Crazy!

Valentine Fun

Yesterday Campbell had his very first Valentine party. His teachers said he had so much fun! I love that he does all of this fun, festive stuff at "school." It's exciting for me too!!
Campbell is at our church a lot. Between actual church on Sundays, my bible study and his MDO program, he's in the building 4 times a week! He was back today for MDO and oh so excited to be there. He runs into his MDO classroom with squeals of delight and a big grin on his face. It makes my heart so happy that he loves it like he does. He never even bothers to say bye even though I'm always that Mom standing at the door trying to wave and get his attention to tell him bye. A lot of times I stand and watch him for a few minutes. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for a day just to see what it's like.
While Campbell was at MDO, Scott and I hung out and spent the day together. We went to Bassett to have the lady who helped us decorate our home help us with Bennett's nursery. I'm over trying to figure it out for myself so I've released the job to someone else and it feels great to not have to think about it anymore! It all came together pretty well!! We're going back to finalize everything then I will be done with it all. Can't wait. Decorating is fun yet exhausting at the same time.
These two are ready for the weekend. Can't say that I blame them!!

Toddler Food and Beverage

Is it spring yet? I'm tired of being cooped up indoors because I don't want to take my toddler out in the freezing cold, even if it's to run into a store quickly. Needless to say, it's been a boring day. Campbell doesn't seem to mind staying home all day but I do. I had nothing to do today so I decided to be Pinterest Mom (to the best of my non-creative ability). I made Campbell a star studded lunch today. He seemed to enjoy it!
Campbell has a Valentine party tomorrow during my Bible Study. I signed up to bring juice boxes for the little kiddos. I assumed there would be some cute, pre-decorated juice boxes in the Valentine aisle at Target but to my disappointment, there wasn't. I wanted to be festive so I decided to just make my own. I wrapped the boxes and put stickers all over them. It's not much but it gave me a fun project.
And that's as entertaining as life got for me today.
