Stuff

This weekend I participated in my neighborhoods garage sale. Our neighborhood typically does one every fall and I must admit, I really enjoy having a garage sale. I love going through my house and purging. I love pricing. I love the excitement of waking up early in the morning, sitting outside and watching my stuff disappear. I'm not afraid to get rid of anything, especially clothes. My closet has so much more hanging space now and it feels so good! I had a great success with my garage sale and did a lot better than I thought I would. I think it's because I priced stuff SO cheap. I wanted to get rid of all of it and if anyone asked for a better deal, I gave it to them. Except for the 11 year old who tried to haggle me on a pair of brand new Uggs that I priced for $5 and she wanted $3 for them. It actually irritated me (and still does when I think about it) greatly. At $5 I'm basically giving them to you. Now that I think about it, I should have taken them away from her and said "No Uggs for you!!"
Once we wrapped up on the garage sale, we had some neighbors over to watch the game. Man, that was a tough loss. I really thought we had that one and while I'm disappointed, I'm also proud. We looked pretty good and it gives me hope for the season ahead. Poor Campbell though. Every time the men yelled with excitement for every awesome play we had, he screamed his little head off. He got over it almost as quickly as it came on but I think it's safe to say he does not appreciate loud cheers. Ha.
We opted to skip out on church yesterday so I could get caught up on some sleep. I usually get to sleep in on Saturdays but with the garage sale, I wasn't able to. I didn't realize how much I depend on that one day a week to sleep in. It really does wonders for me. Plus it's just awesome. I turn on my beloved Harry Potter movies, snuggle with my girls, and snooze my little heart out. It truly brings me such joy. Is it just me or does everyone else think that Harry Potter and naps pretty much go hand in hand?
For the first time all summer, my hydrangeas are finally starting to bloom. I don't know why they're so delayed. Better late than never though!
