Blooming

It has been the coldest day to date this fall. Sweater weather, strong winds, chilly!! The trees in my yard and all over town are at their peek of perfection right now. Autumn is showing off in all it's glory. You know what else is showing off? My hydrangeas.
I cut a few yesterday to bring inside. The stems are thick and long and the blooms are stunning. I have dozens and dozens and dozens. I love it but I'm also wondering why they do this every October and not in May or June. We might get a frost this week and then that will be it. Every year when I know for sure we're about to have our first frost, I go out there and cut every single bloom and bring them inside. I have vases all over my house and they last for weeks. I'm so proud of my hydrangeas. I know I talk about them a lot but that's because I love them! I planted five shrubs right when we moved into this house and to watch them grow and get so big and beautiful has just made me happy. I will miss them when we move but I plan to plant some at our new house right away. It always takes a few years for them to look really great though.
Speaking of house, our insulation started going in today! Next week they will start the sheet rock and once that's finished the fun really begins. We picked out our lighting last week (about 90% of it) and I'm pretty sure Scott has started ordering our tile, granite, etc. So fun!! I feel like the holidays will be busy with life in general and after the holidays are over the house is going to feel like it's almost complete. So everything is about to seem like it's going quick. Crazy! I can't wait to show you all the finished product. Actually I can't wait to see it myself. I'm super excited about our new home but I would happily stay in the home I'm in now for another decade. I love my current house. And my hydrangeas.
