Happy New Year! I'm excited about 2018. We have some big changes ahead of us with our move. Our home is set to be finished at the very beginning of March so it feels like it's just right around the corner. Our cabinets started going in today and they'll be finished installing them by the end of the week. We're meeting with the closet guy tomorrow to work on the layout of our closets. I can't even begin to tell you how much time I've spent searching "closets" on Pinterest. This is a meeting I've been looking forward to since we broke ground on our home. Scott and I will have his and hers closets so I'm super excited to design mine.
Over the weekend we were at Bassett finalizing our new furniture and having them order it all. I can't wait to see it all come together. Most of the tile is in and most of the trim is in. Once the cabinets are in they're going to start painting which will take a while and I probably won't go into the house for a few weeks because I cannot handle the smell of fresh paint!!!
It is all just snowballing and happening so fast now. I feel like I need to start packing or something. Which, ugh, lets just talk about how miserable that's going to be. When we moved into the house we're in now it was beyond exhausting. Now we have two extra people and a whole lotta toys to add to the mix. I seriously feel like I should just pack a box a week to get a head start. Maybe start purging and donating some stuff. You know...all the things.
It will feel so weird walking out of my current house for the last time. I love this house. I'm hoping the excitement over my new home will keep me upbeat and happy because I know I will be shedding some tears as we do one last walk through. This was mine and Scott's first home to purchase, where we brought our boys home, and made so many memories. Lots of firsts in this house. It's been the best home ever. Hoping 2018 and our new home will bring us so much love, happiness and joy!
