24 Weeks

Twenty four weeks pregnant today! I can't get over how fast the weeks are going by. Sometimes I want time to slow down. I love, love being pregnant and I think I'll be a little sad when it's all over with. Of course I'll have a precious baby boy to love on when that happens so I'm sure it won't be too sad huh? Here is my 24 week update!!

Size of Baby: 1 1/3 pounds and almost a foot long, about the size of an ear of corn.

How I'm Feeling: I feel really great except for one little thing. I have been getting the absolute worst lower abdominal pains almost every day this week. The first time it happened it hurt so bad I texted my doctor because I thought something was wrong. She told me it sounded like round ligament pains and that they were very common around this time. They last 30 minutes at the most but it's so painful it makes my knees feel like they're going to buckle. It's happened enough times now for me to know if I sit down right away it feels so much better and goes away fairly quickly. This makes Christmas shopping a challenge. I was with Scott at Target one of the times it happened and I literally plopped down on the gross floor in the middle of the aisle because I couldn't stand up anymore.

Cravings/Appetite: Last week I was eating everything in sight but this week my appetite has gone back to normal. I am still craving sweets and have visited the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory almost every day this week to get their avalanche bark. It's heaven. HEAVEN!!!

Clothes: Clothes are the same. My normal wardrobe still works (well.....some things no longer do) with a couple of maternity items thrown into the mix. I swear some outfits look cuter with a big belly to fill them out. I don't think I'll enjoy some of my winter wardrobe pieces nearly as much next year without the belly.

Movement: He's moving as I type this! I love my little mover. On Sunday night Scott and I were laying on the sofa watching our shows and he was kicking so hard so I decided to roll my shirt up to see if I could see it from the outside. Almost instantly he kicked me right by my belly button and it bulged up and out! I'll never forget it. I totally wasn't invested in any of our shows that evening because I was too busy watching my baby move!

Changes in Me: Things are very slowly getting a little more challenging. Shaving is harder. Tossing and turning in bed is harder. Taking my boots off is extra hard these days. My belly is starting to get in the way of me being able to easily do things.....and I still have so much farther to go!

Baby Purchases: We're purchasing our crib and dresser today!!! Plus a bunch of other items from Restoration Hardware as well. Sheets, changing pad and covers, a light fixture, stuffed animals, and a floor poof for the glider. It will be a fun day when all of it comes in and supposedly that's just 2 weeks from today!

Favorite Moment This Week: Watching Campbell move from the outside. There are certain moments throughout this pregnancy that I'll never forget and seeing that for the first time is one of them.

Looking Forward To: Christmas! This will be mine and Scott's last Christmas as just the two of us for the rest of our lives. I love our little Christmas together but I'm sure it will be much more fun in the years to come!
