26 Weeks

Twenty six weeks today and coming to the end of my second trimester. That went fast! Twenty six weeks feels really far along to me. So many fun things are happening these days. The nursery is starting to come together, baby stuff is filling our house and nesting is taking place as Campbell's arrival gets closer and closer.
Size of Baby: Almost 2 pounds and 14 inches long, about the length of a scallion.

How I'm Feeling: I feel really good but I'm getting awfully tired these days. I've decided that I win the fatigue award for pregnancy. Being pregnant just really wears me out. I was googling what makes you so tired later in pregnancy and it said fatigue can come back with a vengeance in the third trimester. Great. I continue to have mild heartburn and it's a little annoying but not horrible. I usually don't even take anything for it because it doesn't bother me that bad.

Cravings/Appetite: I still love sweets especially around breakfast time. I eat a brown sugar and cinnamon Pop Tart for breakfast almost every single day. It's so good to me.

Clothes: When I was in Little Rock over the holidays I went shopping at J Crew--my favorite store ever. I love their button downs and they had a few on sale so I grabbed a 4, the shirt size I always wear in there, and went to the dressing room to try it on. It was tight. I don't know what I was thinking but grabbing a 4 is normal and I guess I forgot I have a big pregnant belly these days. I ended up going back to the rack and traded in the button down for an 8 and it fits my belly great! Haha. See said shirt below.
Movement: Campbell's movements have changed a lot this week. Before this week it's just been big pops and kicks here and there but now it feels like he's running inside of me. I mostly feel his movements on the right side. I can feel him sliding his little arms and sometimes he taps so fast against me that it makes me smile and wonder what in the world he's doing in there. It's like he's trying to send me some type of morris code or something! While I'm laying down is when I usually feel his movements the most and sometimes his fast motions tickle me and I have to switch positions to get the little nugget to stop.

Changes in Me: My back is starting to hurt me a little bit. Getting socks on and off is so hard some days. I keep getting emails that my belly button is probably out at this point but it's still in there pretty good. It's a little more shallow than it used to be but I'm thinking it may not pop out.

Baby Purchases: I ordered my baby bag this week and it came in today! A while back I blogged about my search for the perfect baby bag and came up with a few options but honestly I wasn't totally sold on any of them. Over the holidays I decided to look into it again and discovered Tory Burch came out with a new baby bag. Right when I saw it I knew it would be perfect for the job! I love it! Such a fun purchase.
Favorite Moment This Week: Scott finally being able to notice Campbell's movements from the outside. We were laying in bed on Wednesday and I told him to watch my belly and our little guy was moving like crazy. Scott beamed so proudly and declared he was going to be a future Razorback kicker. (I'm not so sure about that. That small, yet important, role would stress me all the way out.) Scott's watched him kick many times since then. It may sound boring but we get a great deal of enjoyment out of laying around and watching my big belly move.

Looking Forward To: My 4D ultrasound on Monday! I love any chance to see my baby boy. It's been about 2 months since I last saw him and I know he's changed so much since then. I hope that we can get a good look at him and maybe get a good idea of who he looks like. I'm also so curious to know how much he weighs since he was measuring 4 days ahead last time. For those of you who have done 4D ultrasounds, what did you think about them? Did it look like your baby? I've heard mixed reviews. Either way, I'm still so excited about it!
