One Of Those Days

Today has been "one of those days."
Ever since our nursery furniture came in I've been spending a lot of my time trying to get the room pulled together and finished. It's been so much fun and I've loved my new decorating project even if I have to search long and hard to find certain items. I've mentioned several times that we were having the bedding and curtains for Campbell's room made and yesterday the lady who was making them came out to the house to measure and go over final details for it all. She was so sweet and I could tell she was really good at what she does and when she left I was really excited about everything we discussed.
Today she emailed me the final cost of the extremely plain different shades of grey linen curtains, bumper, bed skirt and two pillows she was making for me and I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the large four digit number on the invoice. After calling my Mom to rant, I drove straight to Sonic because this preggo lady needed a Route 44 ice tea stat.
One adjective that I would never use to describe myself is a saver (this drives my saver of a husband absolutely crazy about me) but even I draw the line somewhere. Once the initial shock wore off, I came home and started searching online for some new baby bedding. I was really worried I wouldn't find anything I liked but I stumbled upon a collection at Restoration Hardware (our nursery is officially going to look like a RH catalog) that fits the look we're going for pretty well so I guess we'll be going with it instead.
After thinking it over, I believe I'm going to be really pleased that we're going this route. A bonus is that Restoration Hardware makes toddler bedding that matches the crib bedding we're getting. So when Campbell moves to his toddler bed, we can just order the bedspread that matches and instantly and easily convert his nursery into a big boy room!
I'm a touch nervous because some of the items I've purchased for Campbell's room have been based off of the original bedding I was planning on getting. My Mom keeps reassuring me it will all still look good together and I think she's right but I'm still a little irritated that a large four digit kink messed up my nursery.
I'm asking for a sewing machine for my birthday because clearly custom drapes and bedding is where the money's at y'all.
