Solids

Yesterday I was a ball of energy and it was awesome! For some reason, I woke up on my own at 6:30 ready to get my day started. So I did. I love days like that. Campbell is still sleeping great (averages 9 hours these days!!!) but even so, I'm always still so tired! I don't get it. Scott took on major Daddy duty over the weekend so I could catch up on some sleep (I think I slept all day long on Sunday) so maybe that's why I woke up feeling so great. Whatever the reason behind it was, I was thrilled and able to do tons of stuff around my house that I've been putting off for weeks. Feels so great!
Cuuuutie alert! I could eat him up. Actually, I pretend to eat him all the time and he thinks its hilarious. I don't know how it's possible to fall more in love with this little guy but every day he melts me more than he did the day before! We had a big weekend around here. Campbell started solids! I jumped the gun a little bit on that. According to the "rules" you aren't supposed to start solids until 4-6 months. But I've just had this feeling it was time and I'm starting to learn to trust my instincts. I've ignored them a few times and regretted it. At the end of the day, you need to do what you feel is best for your baby, no matter what all of the rules say. We started with bananas and oh my goodness my child is obsessed. He can't get enough! (You can check out a video of it on my Instagram @kara2lou) I'm making my own baby food and it's way easier than I thought it would be. Of course I've only done bananas so we'll see how it goes with other fruits and veggies. I'm loving making his food and feeding him with a spoon. So fun!
Everything else in Campbell's world is going great! I did something I promised myself I wouldn't do---pulled the Rock-N-Play back out. We were doing pretty good with our naps for a while there but we reverted back to our old ways. I just can't spend my days holding him while he naps and letting him cry it out wasn't working either. So I got the Rock-N-Play out and the little peanut snoozes so hard I typically have to wake him up from his naps. It's glorious! He still sleeps in his crib at night and I'm praying I'm not going to mess up his nighttime sleep by letting him nap in the Rock-N-Play. Babies and their sleep---it's like walking on egg shells!!!!!
Of course I can't forget to mention my other babies!! They're doing great too. Snoozing pretty good, fighting over bones, asking to run in the backyard, playing with toys, begging for people food....same ol' same ol'. Love my girls!
