Five For Friday

This week I started giving Campbell real, solid food. So far he's had eggs, bread, chicken and noodles, rice and cornbread. Plus his regular fruits and veggies diced instead of pureed. He's loving it and I am too! It's fun! Today at breakfast, I had a bowl filled with scrambled eggs for Campbell and he reached his hand into the bowl and shoved his hand in his mouth. I was so surprised that he did that! So I dumped his food on his tray and let him have at it. Half of the eggs ended up on the floor and half actually made it to his mouth but I was so proud of him for doing it!

I go into slight panic mode watching the extreme mess that's being made in my kitchen while Campbell is eating. I have to tell myself the entire time "this is good. He needs to learn this. It's going to be messy and it's okay." The girls, on the other hand, are loving the mess. They think it's pretty wonderful actually. They pick up every little drop of food that lands on the floor and patiently watch Campbell as he eats just in case he feels like sharing.

Speaking of the girls, they got their haircut on Wednesday and they smell, feel, and look extra pretty now!

I took Campbell for a stroll on day this week. The whole 45 minutes we were out he kept turning his head around to look at me. And he would grin so big. It was pretty sweet. That little boy sure does know how to melt my heart!

And finally, Campbell thinks he can only take naps in my bed now. I don't know what the deal is and I fear a bad habit has started but I've decided to just go with it. Because really, who cares. Sometimes I lay there with him and watch TV and sometimes I stack a bunch of pillows around him to make sure he stays safe. I've found Mommyhood is much easier if you stress less. So if he prefers to nap in my bed rather than his, then so be it.

  1. I still hate the mess, but we always say that's why we have Gabby. I still feel the need to clean the floors a lot more than I used to.

    1. Thank goodness for Ivy and Madison! They pick up every drop the instant it hits the floor. Cleanup would be a lot harder without their help :)

    1. My OCD almost can't take it! It takes about an entire roll of paper towels to clean up the mess!!!!
