We had a beautiful little weekend! My MIL texted Scott and I and asked if we wanted a date night on Friday night. We never turn down date night or a free babysitter! Date nights are rare in our house not that I mind honestly. Scott and I are just as content to stay at home in our sweat pants and watch a movie as we are to get dressed up and go to a nice meal. However, a night out is always such a wonderful treat and always very much appreciated! We decided to have dinner at our date night go-to, Tavola, on the Bentonville square. It's where I always want to go because the food is just so delicious. There was a bit of a wait but we didn't mind because we were able to roam around the square and enjoy our surroundings until our table was ready. Our dinner was heavenly and once we finished, we popped by Krispy Kreme to grab some donuts because #pregnancyproblems. Then we headed home and crawled in bed early because #parents.
The next morning was my free morning. I always spend my Saturday morning laying in bed while I watch TV, drink my cappuccino, and browse the web on my iPad. Around 9:30 a little toddler burst into my room screaming "Moooooom" and ran over to give me a hug. Then he laid his hand on my leg and in the sweetest voice said to me "I missed you." Oh my heart. It's the most precious thing I've ever heard and it was honestly so surprising to hear. Half of the time we can't understand what Campbell says because it still sounds like jibberish. But the other half of the time he says new words and phrases as clear as can be and this was the sweetest thing he's said to-date. I'm not sure if anything will actually ever top this. I told Scott that he hears that a lot from me. When I get him out of bed in the morning I say "I missed you" and when I pick him up from MDO I say "I missed you" so it's something he knows and understands. I will never forget it for as long as I live. Sweet, precious boy who has my whole heart. I love him and the fact that he missed me.
We enjoyed being outside on Saturday and strolling around. Later in the day my parents came up for a very quick visit--less than 24 hours. We grilled dinner at our house and Campbell was so hyper and excited that his Pops and Gamma were in town. He didn't go to sleep until after 9:00 because he was having too much fun playing hide and seek.
We all went to church together on Sunday, had brunch at Table Mesa after, then my parents headed home and Scott, Campbell, and I took a nap. It was a full and fun weekend!
