Catch Up

Hey all! It feels like it's been a while. Let's catch up.
On Saturday morning we made a very last minute decision to drive down to Little Rock. My parents offered to keep Campbell for us for a couple of days and we thought it would be nice to just have a little change of scenery so we drove down for a quick 24 hour trip and to drop our little peanut off. It was nice to be in Little Rock with my family and Campbell was thrilled to be at his Pops and Gamma's house. When we left on Sunday, Campbell said "BYE!" very enthusiastically and didn't care even a little bit that we weren't taking him with us. Bennett did great on the drive there and back. We had to stop both ways for me to feed him but other than that he literally slept the entire time. Praise!
Campbell is having a great time with Pops and Gamma. We had always planned on him spending a few days with them once Bennett arrived and this week works out perfectly since the summer session of MDO starts next week. It's nice to be able to have some one on one time with Bennett and Scott is able to catch up on some work since he's been taking care of Campbell so much these last few weeks. Our house is quiet and it feels a little lonely. I'm looking forward to getting my peanut back later this week but I am grateful that my parents offered to help with Campbell so I can get a little break in the toddler department.
I've spent my toddler free days doing some napping and getting out to run some errands. It's easy to take Bennett places since he just sleeps. There's a lot of things I've been wanting to take care of these last few weeks and I'm glad I'm able to do it. Plus it's just nice getting out of the house. I went to the mall today and piddled around for almost 2 hours and it was refreshing.
As far as Bennett goes, he's doing great! I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was wanting to try the Mom's on Call schedule this time around because I know so many people who rave about it. I tried it for almost 2 weeks though and I just couldn't quite get it to work for us. I was struggling with the only feeding every 3 hours schedule (Bennett gets hungry after 2.5 hours usually) and Bennett just wasn't hopping on board. So on Friday I decided to pull my ol' trusted Babywise book out and go with that instead. It was so awesome with Campbell and Scott and I both understand it so well since we've done it before. It's been going so wonderfully so far and I'm wishing I had just gone with it to begin with. I know SO many people who follow MOC so I thought I should try it this time and I definitely see why mom's love it but for us, Babywise just seems to work better. I will never stray again! I just love having a schedule to follow. It makes my life so much easier and feel a lot more orderly. I was thankful for Babywise when Campbell was a baby and I'm thankful for it now with Bennett. This book just works for us.
