Sleeping Through The Night

I am soooo proud of my sweet little monkey. I think we can officially declare that he is now sleeping through the night! (drop the confetti)
I have been looking forward to this moment since before Bennett was born. Ha! He has been sleeping 8.5 straight hours all week so I'm feeling pretty confident that he's going to do this from here on out. I'm looking forward to him stretching this out to 11-12 hours. I honestly think he's capable of not having that 10:30 dream feed but I don't plan on dropping it any time soon. I don't mind it at all and I feel like it's good for my supply to keep that up for another couple of weeks.
Bennett officially beat his older brothers STTN (sleeping through the night) time so yay for him. I was honestly hoping he would get there sooner since I started him on Babywise right away. The book says most Babywise babies will start STTN between 7-10 weeks. I just knew I would get him STTN by 7-8 weeks and I was very discouraged at first when it wasn't happening. He would give me a night here and there but it was never consistent. I kept trying to remind myself that I have my babies at 37 weeks, they're really little, and they have reflux. I kept plugging along and for the last few weeks his nighttime sleep extended an hour every week going from 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 and now 7:00.
I have mommas reach out to me all the time asking about Babywise and how I get my boys to sleep through the night at such a young age. I always tell them to absolutely go for it! Babywise works. The key is that you HAVE to be consistent. It's the hardest part about it. Sometimes it causes me to be even more tired when I'm working to get us there. It's so hard to keep that first morning feeding consistent and at the exact same time every day (the key to Babywise) especially when you've been up all night. When your alarm goes off at 7:00 and your baby is sleeping and all you want is to keep sleeping too but you know you've got to get up, get them up and feed them....that's a killer. But it's what makes them sleep eventually and you have to remind yourself of that every time.
I can't tell you how many people tell me how lucky I am that my babies sleep through the night so early on and I am quick to tell them that luck has nothing to do with it. I work my booty off to get us there. This was all my doing thankyouverymuch. I still can't believe how awesome Babywise works. We're on the way to having another amazing sleeper in our house and I am so glad. Bennett is so happy and rested when he wakes up in the morning. So is Campbell. I'm glad to give my boys the beautiful gift of sleep! And of course, I'm even more glad to get my sleep as well. Thank you Babywise.
