I posted this quick snap on Instagram over the weekend but I wanted to share the link to it on here too because I got a lot of questions about it. I got this sweater at the beginning of fall and I love it. The shade is so pretty. It actually comes in a few different shades and they're all so pretty. The stitching at the hem and cuffs adds a fun touch and the weigh of the sweater is light and cozy.
This sweater is currently less than $30 and would be the perfect Christmas gift for you or someone you love! Anyone else pick up some gifts for yourself while you're supposed to be Christmas shopping for others? My friend, Jake, always said he felt like he needed to gift himself a prize for doing so good on his Christmas shopping. Haha! Totally.

Happy Monday everyone. This is the boys last week of MDO before a month long break so I'm doing my best to get every possible thing done that I can do. It's crazy how when I'm alone running errands I can do things about five times faster than I can when I have two cute boys in tow with me. I told Campbell last night that this would be his last week of school for a long time and he was super bummed about it. He asks me every single day if he can go to school. I'm so glad he loves it!
Another thing he asks to do every single day is go see a movie. Our mother/son date night to see 'The Star' really had an impact on him apparently. I knew he loved it but I didn't realize he loved it that much. Scott took him to go see it again on Friday night because he hasn't stopped asking to go see it again. We hope to take him to see Ferdinand together over the Christmas break. I love that Campbell loves going to the movies because I love it too! I look forward to when Bennett will be able to sit through a movie. I predict lots and lots of trips to the movie theater with the boys in our future.
It was freezing cold here all weekend so we mostly stayed bundled up inside. Season Two of The Crown started on Netflix on Friday so I parked myself in front of the TV and binged over the weekend. I love this show and if you aren't watching it you're missing out! It's about Queen Elizabeth and the royal family and I find it so fascinating. If you're intrigued by the royal family like I am then this show is for you! I'm excited to finish the season but then it will be so long before another one starts so a part of me wants to take it slow. I'm sure I'll finish before the week is up though :)
Until tomorrow...

Poinsettia Pups

Happy Friday everyone! I can't believe that Christmas is just a little over two weeks away!! I still have shopping to do. I'm trying to finish it up before the boys last week of MDO (next week).
Today I wanted to share these photos I got of the girls a few weeks ago. They are my top favorite photos of them for sure. I needed a good picture of them to put on our Christmas card and a few easy snaps later and I got it. Didn't even take 5 minutes! They were being so sweet (or maybe they were bored? Ha!) and laid their little heads down and just stared at me while I was shooting. I love the light and colors and the way it all came together. Very proud of these pics!
I hope you all have a fun-filled weekend. Scott and I want to take the boys to do something fun and Christmas-y. Campbell asks every single day if he can go to the movies to see ''The Star' again so maybe he and Scott can go and do that over the weekend since Scott missed out on it the first time. I'm sure we'll find something fun to do. See you back here next week!

Christmas Tour

Every year I give a little Christmas tour of my home but I decided to skip out on it this year because it literally looks almost identical to what I did the last two years. I posted all about it HERE so if you want to take a peek, feel free!
I shared this photo on Instagram last week and I have been getting so many questions about where everything is from. I didn't link any of it because I've had it all for years so I know it's probably unavailable to purchase now. But I'll share anyways since so many have asked. My stockings are from Dillards although I've seen the same looking ones at Homegoods/TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning before. The garland is Threshold from Target (last year). My Christmas pillows are from Pottery Barn a few years ago but they usually keep the same ones around year after year so you could probably still find them. Finally, the girls bed is from Restoration Hardware. It was their Christmas present last year and they LOVE it but it is sold out unfortunately.
I love my Colorful Christmas and think it's so fun for the boys to enjoy. However, I think I'll have to mix it up a little next year in our new house and do something different. We'll need a bigger tree (I'm thinking flocked!) so I'll probably stick this tree in the boys playroom or something and do a different "theme" for our main tree in the living room. Scott said he wants it to be "woodsy" and I was like
"like plaid and burlap?" and he was like...."I'm not sure...maybe." So maybe we'll go woodsy next year. Ha!
I love Christmas and enjoy my Christmas d├ęcor. The twinkling lights really do make me feel merry. It's kinds of sad that this is our last Christmas in this home so I'm embracing the Christmas memories we'll make here for the last time. Very much looking forward to Christmas in our home next year too! Bittersweet times.

Christmas Time Is Here

Hey friends! Happy Monday! We had a fun weekend! Last night we went to the Stewart Family Christmas Light Display in Fayetteville. I have wanted to go for years and last night we finally went. It was amazing!! We had so much fun and I couldn't believe how many lights and blow ups they had. They were actually featured on The Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC tonight so that was fun to watch since we were just there last night. If you live in the vicinity of the Northwest Arkansas area you've got to go! We got there around 5:00 and the timing was perfect. We had about 5-10 minutes before it got busy. As we were leaving there were tons and tons and tons of cars backed up so I'm glad we got there early.
I hosted a Shades Kids giveaway on Instagram yesterday/today. I have mentioned on here before how much I love Shades Kids. They have the most adorable clothes and some of their stuff has been my very favorite outfits. Bennett had a little bubble from them that he wore this summer that was my hands down favorite outfit of his over the summer. It's THIS ONE if you care to see what I'm talking about :)
The boys are in school this week and next week then they're off for Christmas break for a whole month (insert wide eyed emoji). I'm trying to wrap up all of my Christmas shopping before they're out. I've completed my Christmas shopping for Campbell and Bennett (and the girls! we don't leave them out!) but I still have more left for other family members.
I feel like the holiday season is flying by. I know it's only December 4th but I feel like Christmas will be here so soon. I'm soooo excited about Christmas with the boys this year. We have always been in Little Rock on Christmas morning but Scott and I have always said when Campbell was 3.5 we wanted to start the tradition of doing Christmas at our house, with just us, doing our own family thing. I'm excited about doing Christmas with my little family! I have so many fun things planned for us in the few days leading up to Christmas. I can't wait to make cookies for Santa and tuck the boys in bed at night and get them excited about Santa coming. I'm so looking forward to Scott and I setting everything up for them on Christmas Eve. I feel like these are the golden years of Christmas for us because our kids are young and everything is so magical! Christmas is always special but I feel like it's extra special right now. I love it.
I have had so much fun Christmas shopping for these sweet boys. I struggled at first to find stuff for Bennett since Campbell already has it all but I've ended up finding him some good items and I think he's going to love it. I know Campbell will love his presents. He'd be excited about a lump of coal in his stocking honestly. Hahaha!!! This kid gets excited about everything. I love that about him.

Christmas Books

Happy December! We kicked off the month by doing one of my favorite Christmas traditions. After lunch, the boys and I went to Barnes and Noble to pick out two new Christmas books--one for each boy! I've been doing this since Campbell's first Christmas and I really love it and look forward to it. The boys love it too and we always end up being there for about an hour looking at all of the books and playing with the train table too.
This year we ended up choosing The Polar Express and Frosty The Snowman. Campbell looked at The Polar Express and said "that book is too big for me." Haha! I assured him it wasn't and that he would love reading it. Campbell was really excited about Frosty The Snowman because he watched the show on TV last week and he absolutely loved it. I was honestly surprised since it's such an old show but he was captivated and has asked several times to watch it since. I guess that's the reason Frosty is a classic! No matter how long ago it was made, children (and adults!) still love it.
I was planning to get Bennett a 'That's Not My' touch and feel book like the angel one or reindeer or something but they didn't have any. I may have to get him one of those later because he has recently, within the last few months, started to LOVE books, especially touch and feel ones. I know he would love to add another one of those to his collection! I'm glad that both of my boys love books and I'm happy we were able to have another year of our fun Christmas tradition of picking out new Christmas books! Our Christmas book collection is slowly growing and will be quite large before we know it!

Toddler Problems

Wow I've really done a good job at delivering some awesome posts this week ;)
Here's the truth. I'm. So. Tired. And I have zero energy. I actually felt drugged all day on Tuesday. Like, pretty sure someone put something in my cappuccino because I was like a walking zombie all day. I crawled in bed shortly before 8:00 and was out cold in less than 15 minutes. I slept like a rock until my kids woke me up on the monitor at 7:10 the next morning. It was glorious.
Bennett is wearing me out right now. He screams his wants all day long. I thought I found a good solution to getting him to stop doing it and it worked for about a week and now he's back at it. This has been going on since a few days before he turned 16 months old and Scott and I both are so, so tired of it. What's so strange is that Bennett is so verbal. He says way more words than Campbell did when he was his age so I don't really understand his need for all the screaming. I've tried several different forms of punishment (timeout, etc) but it just doesn't work for him because he's too young to get it. It's exhausting and makes my life feel so loud and completely non-peaceful. By 4:30 the "witching hour" hits and Bennett's screaming begins to quadruple and I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. Scott and I discussed taking Bennett to a speech therapist to see if they can help us or give some insight as to how we can correct this behavior. I'm just at such a loss because Campbell never did this. My pediatrician said it's very typical behavior for an 18 month old and by the time he turns 2 he won't be doing it anymore. He is always right about everything and I trust his knowledge but I'm not sure I can take 5 more months of this!!!!
Of course I'm writing all of this today when Bennett had an awesome day. Even later this afternoon Scott was like "you're doing so good today, Boo! Let's finish the day out strong!!" Hardly any screaming and he used his words so well. He walked up to me with an applesauce pouch and said "apple!!" and even though he'd already had 3 others within the hour, I wanted to reward him for asking nicely instead of walking to me with an applesauce screaming. When he finished his breakfast this morning he walked to me with his bowl and said "more!" and after we got pj's on tonight, he handed me a book and said "book?!" It's can say the words, dude, so why are you screaming in my face all day? Ugh!
It's really such a bummer because Bennett is so sweet and has such a cute little personality. I enjoy him so, so much when he's not screaming and think he's such a mess and so cute. I just want him to get this screaming phase over with so I can enjoy him more because right now, he's slightly unpleasant to be around. I was in Hobby Lobby earlier this week and he was screaming because he wanted to hold a roll of wrapping paper and a lady looked at me with empathy and said "hang in there!" I mean, you know it's bad when a sweet woman feels the need to give you some encouragement. So thankful for women like that by the way.
I know it's hard to believe all this when you look at that sweet little face but all of it is true. This sweet looking angel screams in my face all the time. SOS.

Happy (Cyber) Monday everyone! I am currently blogging to you from my very new computer. Woo Hoo! My laptop has gotten so slow and I've been wanting a new computer for a while. My sweet hubby researched on what would be the best computer for me to have for my specific needs then went to Best Buy on Thanksgiving Day to score me my new PC for a good discount!
I'm going to have my very own office in our new house. It will be tiny but it will be perfect for me and I'm so excited about it. I'm looking forward to my own space where I can blog and edit photos. I'm going to make it pretty and girly since there is so much blue in my life. Ha!
I have been so, so, so busy these last few weeks. Before Halloween I posted on my neighborhood Facebook page offering to shoot some mini sessions of kids in their Halloween costumes. I got quite a few families that took me up on it and it was so much fun. I shared some of the photos on Facebook then suddenly started getting asked if I would shoot some family Christmas card photos. I ended up doing so. many. sessions. I couldn't believe it and never would have dreamed that I would take photos of as many families as I did. I was up so late every night editing photos because I didn't want to fall behind and wanted to be finished with it all before Thanksgiving. I finished all of my galleries around 10:00 PM the night before Thanksgiving. I've been editing so many photos the last 5 weeks that I almost don't even know what to do with all of this free evening time I have now!
Doing the family sessions gave me the itch to want to do more. I know it will slow down a lot now that Christmas card photo taking time is over but I'm hoping I could turn photography into a little side gig! I had so much fun and it was so nice to do something other than being a stay at home mom. I'm hoping to spend the holidays growing and learning more about photography and go into 2018 being better behind the camera. I still have so much to learn but I'm really pleased with how all of my sessions turned out.
All that being said, I'm excited for my faster computer because it will make photo editing much more efficient. And before long I'll have my own little office where I can focus on my work and that makes me excited. My blogging slacked a little the last few weeks because of my sessions. I usually have a week's worth of posts written in advance but this week I've got nothing. I'm hoping to spend some time tomorrow to get some good stuff written up so stay tuned and I'll see you then!

Thanksgiving 2017

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a big, busy day. We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. We had lunch with Scott's mom and dinner with my parents and Scottt's dad. Campbell had a great day with all of his people and I was thankful that we were able to spend the day with both sets of parents. I don't want to spend too much time blogging so I can get back to family time but just wanted to pop in real quick to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope your day has been wonderful.

Floral Sweatshirt

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share a quick post on this sweatshirt because it's pretty and comfy and my current throw on and go top!
It fits like an oversized sweatshirt but it's dressed up with the pretty embroidered florals and the fun wrist ties. I definitely recommend sizing down in this top because it is a really long and loose fit. Even sizing down, it's long enough to wear with leggings.
You will love this shirt!! I pair it with my favorite jeans and I've worn it with booties and sneakers. It's super versatile and will be one of those items you keep forever and wear often. The colors are perfect for fall and winter.

House Update

Scott and I had a fun day today! We dropped the boys off at MDO then headed to Bassett to pick out some furniture. We've had a relationship with Bassett for years now. The head designer works with Scott on some house stuff and she has also decorated our current home for us. She is incredibly talented and I love what she does. So a few months ago, when we had just gotten the home started, we had a meeting with her about our house. I told her that I really, truly don't care to be involved in picking it out at all. I trust her completely and love everything she does so I just wanted her to pick everything out then show it to me. So she's spent a lot of time working on it and today we went down to see what she has come up with! She gave us two different options/styles and we picked between the two. Scott and I both loved option two the best (as did she) so that's the direction we're going in.
We're getting all new living room furniture and these are some of the fabric swatches from what we chose today. The oatmeal fabric will be our new sofa. The grey velvet is our current chairs we have now that we're also using in the new home. The blue and patterned fabrics will be throw pillows and that dark blue on the bottom is our rug. There's three other fabrics that will be added into the mix (Marla likes lots of patterns/fabrics...I do too!) but I forgot to include them in the pic. But you get the idea! I love, love what she pulled and I can envision it perfectly and I love what I’m envisioning. I never would have chosen that on my own which is why I just left it up to Marla. I knew she would do better than me (obviously...she's the professional) and I am so excited about my new furniture!! We were there a long time today and managed to nail down the living room, breakfast area and Scott's office. We ran out of time because I had to pick up the boys so we're going back on Saturday to finalize everything and I'm super excited to see the rest.
Days like today make me so excited to move! I am always perfectly content in the home I'm in now and I never feel anxious to move. I even have days where I'm like "woah this home is coming along super fast....I'm getting emotional now....I can't leave my house yet!!" but today made me super excited to move into our next home. I can't wait to show you all the finished results! I can't wait to see them myself!
