Scott and I spent the weekend in Kansas City for a little mini getaway. We've been planning on it for a while as a little anniversary celebration. We really enjoy Kansas City but the last time we went was 6 years ago so we figured it would be a good little escape for us! We took off Friday afternoon and arrived just in time for dinner at a BBQ place that was recommended to us, Char Bar. The food was awesome and we had Kansas City burnt ends for the first time. Yum.
The only thing we had on our agenda was good food and taking it easy. We checked both items off our list with great success. On Saturday morning I slept in until 11:00. I was totally embarrassed when I woke up! I think I clocked in about 12 hours of sleep which I clearly needed. I quickly got dressed then we ate an amazing brunch at Gram and Dun and spent the rest of the day shopping. We ended our evening eating the best meal I think I've ever had at Stock Hill. The food was insane and the atmosphere was perfect. Scott and I are still talking about our meal. Gram and Dun and Stock Hill are owned by the same person and both restaurants are fantastic. Highly, highly recommend.
There wasn't a whole lot to it but it was just what we needed. An easy, slow weekend. I'll label this post under 'travel' because if you ever go to Kansas City, you absolutely need to hit up those three restaurants. Best food I've had in a long time.
