Parade of Homes

I know I have been so MIA for a few weeks now. Life was so hectic but now it's over!! Woo Hoo! We had the parade of homes last week which has consumed our life (at least it feels like it) since February. Now that it's over I feel like life has instantly become less busy and we can just relax and enjoy ourselves and our home now.
The parade of homes was a great success! Scott walked away with three out of the five awards. Best kitchen, best curb appeal, and best overall. I was thrilled for him. He is a fantastic builder and I was so happy to see him rewarded for his work. Scott is involved in every step of the way in a home build. He only builds about 5 homes a year so that he can have his thumb in every single detail. He is always on the job site making sure everything is being done correctly, he goes to every meeting with his customers to help them with their custom selections, and his attention to detail and quality are unsurpassed. He cares about his work and while he knows no home can be perfect, he does his best to make sure it's as perfect as it can be. Scott works very, very hard and he doesn't have an easy job but he does it so well. I couldn't be more proud of him!
We estimated that we had about 2500 people come through our house over the weekend. It was constantly busy. I actually really enjoyed it. I was exhausted by the end of the day but we had a lot of fun! I was a little nervous leading up to it but everyone was very respectful and I was quickly put at ease.
There was no way we could have done the week with the boys and girls in tow so they hung out at Pops and Gamma's house while we focused on the parade. They had a great time but we sure did miss them. Our house was very quiet and extra empty with all four of our little loves gone. It was also extra clean without our little mess makers!!
It was an exhausting week but a really great week! The judging was on Wednesday morning, we had our house photographed and filmed on Thursday, the awards banquet was Thursday night and the parade of homes was Friday-Sunday for most of the day. Very busy week but so much fun! I'm glad it's over though. It was a lot of work but now we get to relax. Finally!
