Summer Bucket List

I'm really wanting to give my boys a fun summer. I always try to have a fun summer but this year feels like it will be easier to accomplish since they're older. There's a lot more we can do and simply getting out of the house doesn't feel like as much of a production as it used to. I created a little summer bucket list and wrote it on a small dry erase board that I keep in my pantry. A few things on the list are food trucks, water balloons, putt putt, lots of swimming, going to the movies and picking berries. We're already doing good on checking off the berry picking on our list.
A few weeks ago we went strawberry picking. We did that last year and we all had so much fun. Both of the boys did great at picking berries although I think Bennett ate more than he picked.
My kids LOVE fruit so picking berries is a perfect little summer activity for us. Plus I just really enjoy it. It makes me want to grow my own although I'm sure it's very time consuming to maintain so I guess I'll just visit these farms instead.
This morning we did something I've been wanting to do for years-we picked blueberries! For some reason I've never been able to get out to the blueberry farm but today we did it and it might be my favorite kind of berry picking. It took us an hour and we were only able to fill up about half of one of those buckets between the three of us. We had so much fun and the berries, of course, are delicious!!
Tomorrow I'm going to try to take the boys to the movies. Malco theaters (not just in NWA but all over--search to see if your town in included!) have a thing called Kids Summer Film Fest. They play $2 movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00. I'm going to try to take the boys a few times this summer. I'm not sure how Bennett will do but we'll see. In a few weeks they're showing Trolls, which he requests to watch almost daily, so I know we'll make it through that one!
Doing my best to give my boys a fun summer! Let me know if you have any fun activities you think they would enjoy!
