Floral Dress

I wore this dress to church on Sunday and posted a pic of it in my stories. I had quite a lot of people message me about it saying they have it and loved it too or they wanted to purchase it for themselves so I thought I'd post a link on here. It is really such a great dress and it's very lightweight so it's perfect for these hot summer days that are about to be upon us. Someone also commented that it would be great for breastfeeding since it buttons down the front and it definitely would. 

I love the fit on this dress. It's loose but doesn't feel like you have a sack on. I feel like there's a fine line. I like the sleeves, the dropped waist and the little pleats around the bottom. It's a great length too. I'm wearing an XS which is the size I typically wear at Loft. There is another dress I have that is this exact same style but a solid instead of a print. I got it and love it too. I'm planning on wearing it to Disney which is a testament on how light weight, comfy and breezy this dress is.

Migration

This week I have started to have some beautiful new visitors in my backyard! The summer birds have migrated this way and I have been blessed by their beautiful presence!! This is my first summer to pay attention to summer birds. I just recently picked up my birding hobby at the end of November so getting to experience all of these gorgeous new birds in my backyard is so exciting to me!

Earlier this week this beautiful Summer Tanager popped by for a quick visit. Isn't he gorgeous? The female version of this bird is yellow! I sure do hope to see more of him over the next few months. 

This bird came to see me several times throughout the day on Tuesday. He was so, so beautiful!! I have a bird ID app and a Birds of Arkansas Field Guide book that I keep on hand and this little fella couldn't be found in either. I am in a "Arkansas Birders" group on Facebook so I posted this picture and asked if anyone could help me identify him. I got a lot of responses because apparently it is quite rare to have this species show up to a feeder! This is a Yellow Breasted Chat and everyone kept telling me how lucky I was to have one! It made me so excited to not only be able to see him but also that I had my camera handy to get some good photos! 

This isn't my favorite photo (I prefer to get birds in a tree) but it's the only one I was able to get of this beauty. This is an Indigo Bunting and I have hoped to get to see one this summer so I feel so thankful that one showed up in my yard! He didn't stay long and I was frantically taking photos before he flew away. I hope he comes back and I'm able to get more pictures. Isn't he just so gorgeous? I wish the photo captured how vibrant he was. Truly stunning!! Birds are fun!

Baseball

Campbell has been playing baseball this spring. It's by far his favorite sport he has played so far and I love watching him play! Baseball has been a little tricky for us this year simply because the games are on week nights, late, and it's hard to bring Wells. Campbell also always has one practice a week and it's just a lot to try to tote a two year old to. Scott and I have been taking turns on who takes Campbell to games and practices while the other stays home with Bennett and Wells. Today I got to take Campbell to his game. My mom is up here so she went with me and we had such a fun time watching him play! I decided to bring my camera with me and attempt to get some shots. Campbell had a great game and got a hit each time he was up to bat and also scored two runs! Go Campbell Go!

Bloom

This past year has been such a downer. Stating the obvious but I have really felt bogged down this past year. I have been blogging since 2007 and have always been really good about keeping up on here not really because I felt like I had to but because I wanted to. However, this past year has left me and everyone else on this planet in a funk and I haven't really wanted to blog or had the energy to do it. However, with this new spring weather I feel like it's brought me out of my fog and given me a fresh, new life. I have more energy and life feels more normal again and I'm actually having the desire to blog more now. These beautiful flowers and the green grass and trees are giving me all the warm fuzzies. My yard is full of new growth and I am enjoying it so much. I always enjoy it but I really feel like I'm appreciating it so much more this season. I took some photos of some of the pretties around my yard and wanted to share them here today. 

Easter

Happy Easter everyone! We had a great day celebrating our risen Savior with our family. We were so thankful to be able to gather together this year since last year we spent Easter all by ourselves--just the five of us. We went to church, came home and ate a great lunch, then the boys hunted Easter eggs. The day completely wore me out to be honest but the boys had a great time and they all looked so handsome in their Easter best.
