Happy 1st Birthday Bennett!!

Our precious Bennett Graham is one year old today!!
I'm in disbelief typing those words. This year has gone by so, so fast. Too fast. I can say without hesitation that this has been the happiest year of my life. My heart multiplied a year ago today and it has been the best feeling in the world being a mommy to two precious boys. I have loved taking care of these boys and watching them play together and love together is the most wonderful thing my eyes have ever witnessed.
Bennett has been the best little baby in the world. I never dreamed I could have one of those babies who was so easy and perfect but low and behold, I got one! When he was born and didn't even make a peep, my gut told me instantly in that moment that I got a good one. I didn't want to say the words out loud for weeks....months even.....for fear I would jinx it but finally I decided a fact was a fact and this baby was a breeze!!!
Bennett rarely goes without a smile on his sweet face. He is very patient and has always just gone with the flow. Bennett loves everyone and will gladly let anyone hold him. While you hold him, he'll just look at you and grin and will almost always touch your face really sweetly. It's so precious and melts everybody! Bennett is an angel and my heart could burst into a million pieces just looking at his sweet little face.
God has been so good and I don't see how I could possibly love this sweet baby that he blessed me with one year ago today, any more than I already do. Bennett is amazing and I have tears in my eyes typing this now because I love him so, so much. I am the luckiest mommy in the world to have two incredible boys and I'm thankful for their sweet little lives every single day.
I cannot believe that my baby boy is one year old! I never imagined this year would fly by the way it has. I feel so privileged to be Bennett's mommy and I cannot wait to watch him grow and blossom over the years. May he smile as much every single year as he has his first. We love you Bennett!!

Bennett's First Birthday Party

We celebrated our sweet, sweet boy yesterday with a birthday party at our house! We made a lot of wonderful memories and Bennett seemed to enjoy his special day! While I was getting ready for the party I kept thinking to myself that I couldn't believe that this day was here. This year has been so incredibly wonderful and has also gone by so incredibly fast!! I thought I'd share a few pics of Bennett's party that we threw him yesterday.
I wanted the "theme" for Bennett's birthday to be really sweet and I thought Nursery Rhymes would be perfect for a one year olds birthday party. I adored Bennett's cake and thought they did such a great job on it.
We had the party around dinner (early dinner) so we served yummy sandwiches and dips along with the sweet little cake we had for dessert. Speaking of cake....
Bennett LOVED his birthday cake! I knew he would. It took him a few minutes to get the hang of it but by the end he had torn into the entire thing and was covered in cake! I had to just stick him in the sink and hose him off.
Bennett had a crew of helpers that unwrapped all of his presents for him in the form of several toddlers. He got so many fun toys and books. I'm excited for him to have new toys just for him and he has loved playing with everything he received from our sweet friends and family.
What a special day celebrating our sweet baby boy! Bennett is the most amazing little human and he has brought our family so much love and joy and happiness. We are so thankful to our family and friends who joined in to celebrate Bennett's precious little life with us. His birthday party turned out to be just perfect and I will forever remember celebrating our sweet Bennett's first birthday!

Strawberry Picking

Today I did something that I've been wanting to do for years--I went strawberry picking! I have been wanting to do this for so long but for some reason I've never gotten around to it. I was so excited to take Campbell because I knew he would love it!! As soon as we finished eating lunch we hopped in the car and headed off to a local farm to pick fresh strawberries.
We paid $12 for a big box to put our strawberries in then headed off into the field to pick our berries. Campbell thought it was so neat and honestly, I did too! We took our time selecting the prettiest strawberries we could find and our box was so heavy that Campbell couldn't carry it anymore. Once we decided we had enough we headed back to our car. Campbell kept saying "lets go home mommy and eat our strawberries!!" So we did.
Once we got home Campbell started chowing down on the strawberries and he continued to do so for hours after. He just kept eating and eating and eating!! He had so many that he was too full for dinner and said he can't wait to put some strawberries in his breakfast smoothie. Needless to say, it was a huge hit!! Bennett had fun eating the strawberries too!! They are delicious! I'm sad Scott missed out on the berry picking because it was so fun. We may have to go back one more time and take him with us. Honestly, if Campbell keeps up with it the way he did today, there won't be anymore strawberries left by tomorrow night!!
If you have a strawberry farm in your area, go pick some strawberries. You will love it!

Rain Day

Happy May! We survived the most rain in one weekend I've ever seen. The news had warned us that our area was going to get a ton of rain. They kept saying it over and over, almost like they do when they're warning/preparing you for a snow day. So I went to the store on Friday to stock up on junk food and snacks because what else are you supposed to do when you're stuck at home all weekend? I was so glad I was prepared with the good eats because the weather man was not joking about the rain. We just kept looking out of our windows in shock at how much water was accumulating. So anyways....all that to say, we did nothing all weekend because we were stuck inside staying dry.
Campbell got to make brownies and he did such a good job! It's not his first time to help me bake some goodies but this was the first time that he did a great job of stirring without half of the batter spilling out and he didn't stick his fingers in it or lick the spoon! Such a win! Hahaha!! And the brownies ended up tasting super yummy. They lasted just a little over 24 hours. Whoops!
We are having Bennett's birthday party this Saturday. I can't even believe it. I am spending my evenings trying to get prepared for it so hopefully my blogging doesn't slack this week because of it. What's taking up the most time is catching up on filling out Bennett's baby book. I got to about month three then stopped up until a week ago. Oops! I like to have the baby book sitting out for people to flip through at the party. And even though I know probably not one single person will flip through it, it gives me incentive to get it done and finished. I do a little bit each night and now I'm trying to gather up photos to send off to be printed so I can put them in the book. It is super time consuming!!! I like doing it though. My mom put a lot of time and effort into filling out my baby book and it's such a treasure to have. I hope my boys appreciate all of the time and effort I put into their books. It is definitely a lot of work! And my hand is so tired from all of the writing....
