Bright Lights--Kansas City

Hi friends!! How was your weekend? Mine was fantastic! Allow me to share the details with you! We got on the road a little later than planned. We hoped to make it to Kansas City by lunch time but left around lunch time instead. We decided to just grab some fast food on the way. Did you know there's nowhere to stop between Bentonville and Kansas City? Nowhere. Except one place--Burger King. I can't remember the last time I ate at a Burger King.
We arrived, checked into our hotel then hit the streets for a little shopping. I wasn't really in the mood to try on clothes but at the end of the day I ended up purchasing a classic LBD with pretty lace sleeves (at my fav KC local boutique--Standard Style) and I decided to wear it to dinner that night.
We chose Bristol for dinner. I'd been there once before--it's a chain you can find in bigger cities. Scott and I always make it a point to stay away from chains when we're in a different city. You would laugh if you could see the trouble we go to to search out the best/nicest/favorite restaurant among locals. It's well worth it though. We've never been disappointed and have become quite good at finding the hot spot. However, nothing was just quite calling out to us. If the food looked good the atmosphere looked blah or vice versa. So went to Bristol. I got their vegetable ravioli with lobster and it was lip smacking good. Scott got the shrimp enchiladas (at the insistence of my recommendation) with a side of lobster mac and cheese. Ha. Odd combo but he just had to have that lobster mac and cheese. After a fabulous dinner, we walked a few short steps to the power and light district and spent the rest of our evening at the piano bar there. I have seriously never been to a more impressive piano bar. There was not one song they didn't know. Not one. Five of them rotated out. They could all play the piano, drums, guitar, and sing. That's just so amazing to me when people are multi-talented like that. The atmosphere is so fun there and I was so excited to go back.
The next day I was a little more in the mood to hunt for clothes. I went to J. Crew and fell in love with everything in the entire store. My sweet husband let me indulge and get every item that I wanted. Love Him!! New fall wardrobe--done and done. I'm just sad I can't wear it for another 2 months. Torture!!!All-in-all, my weekend was so fun. I had 4 whole days with Scott all to myself. It was such a fun surprise to go to KC for the weekend! The food was delicious and the shopping was a major success. Great idea honey! I love you bunches. XOXO.
