17 Weeks

At 17 weeks I'm officially in my 5th month of pregnancy! It sounds like I'm really far along when you put it that way. It's crazy how fast it's all going by now. The first trimester dragged on and on but now it seems like April is just around the corner.

Size of Baby: 5 ounces and 5 inches long or about the size of a turnip. 

How I'm Feeling: I seem to be going backwards because I've been sick and nauseous quite a few times this week. Now when I get sick blood also pours out of my nose so that's neat. At first it freaked me out (I've never had a bloody nose before) but it seems as if there's nothing to worry about. Apparently bloody noses are very common in pregnancy. I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to be one of those who is sick throughout their entire pregnancy. For the most part I feel great. Just a couple of mad dashes to the bathroom here and there. 

Cravings: I haven't had any cravings but I have eaten an obscene amount of Halloween candy this week. I think it was partly to blame for one of the times I got sick. 

Clothes: My clothes still fit great! I'm starting to notice a tiny change in my jeans. They still fit comfortably but I can tell when I button them they're getting a little more snug. Those will definitely be the first to go. The Gap makes my favorite jeans in maternity jeans so I'm thinking I'll just order a pair of those when the time comes. I wear jeans all the time in the fall/winter so I'm definitely going to have to stock up on a couple of pairs since the majority of my pregnancy will take place in the colder months.

Movement: I haven't felt anything this week. I felt little popping and flutters a few times last week but this week it's been pretty quiet in there. I started getting paranoid over the weekend and prayed that the Lord would show me my little baby was still snuggled safely inside. I was hoping I'd feel tiny little movements but instead I got vomiting and a bloody nose. My prayer was definitely answered just not the way I was imagining it!!

Changes in Me: I've grown a lot this week. Before this week when I woke up in the morning I basically had a flat stomach and throughout the day my belly just looked like I had eaten a big meal. Now there's no denying that there is a little bump there! I've gained 2 pounds now. I'm still under my pre-pregnancy weight but these last two weeks I've gained a steady pound a week so it looks like I'm on the right track.

Baby Purchases: I haven't bought anything this week. Shocking, I know. 

Favorite Moment This Week: Watching my bump get so big. It makes it all feel even more real. I don't know how I'm going to like sporting a huge bump (or seeing the number on the scale get higher and higher) but right now I think it's cute.

Looking Forward To: Feeling the tiny little person in my belly move around. I know it's happening already but I'm anxious to start feeling it. It will give me such a peace of mind when I can feel my little nugget swimming around in there every day. I'm crossing my fingers that it will start happening consistently this week!!
