Bonus Room

Scott and I spent our weekend decorating our bonus room. It took up our entire Saturday night to hang curtains and pictures but it all came together wonderfully and I love our new space!!
We got our new sectional at IO Metro along with the ottoman and pillows. Every single room in my house is monochromatic with different shades of grey and cream and since this is a fun bonus room, I wanted to put some color in it. Our art above the sofa is our Memphis in May posters. We've had them for years and I love them. Scott and I have collected them from all of the Memphis in May music festivals we've gone to. We have another one on a different wall in the bonus room. I'm hoping to attend more in the future so we can add to our collection because I think the posters are so fun!
This bonus room is also going to serve as Scott's home office. We have an actual office downstairs but since it's the first room you see when you walk in the front door of our house, I wanted it to be more of a pretty sitting room than an office. I haven't found a chair for this desk yet but maybe we'll get that taken care of this weekend. Scott came home one day a few months ago with that big, chunky desk from Office Depot or something like that. I wasn't entirely thrilled but he needed a big desk with a lot of drawers and plenty of space to work on so I went with it. Once we got some art over it and decorated it a little bit I actually don't mind the desk so much. I got that basket at Target this weekend for super cheap and stuck Scott's house plans in it. I think it turned out pretty cool!
We still have to hang a TV on the wall opposite the sofa and get some type of media chest to put under it. Hopefully we can find something soon so the bonus room will officially be complete! So far, I'm really happy with how it's turned out. Before we got furniture in this room we never went in there. Now that it's all decorated we find ourselves hanging out up there all the time!
I love having a bonus room and one of my priorities before the baby arrived was making sure we got it furnished and decorated. Campbell's room is upstairs with the bonus and I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time in this room once he gets here. Even though it's not 100% complete yet, it's basically finished and I'm so pleased with the result! This was a really fun room to decorate.
