Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I rang in 2014 with all of my friends and we had such a good time! Scott and I hosted a New Years Eve party at our house last night and I had a blast. New Years Eve is usually a bust to me but I really enjoyed last night. It was somewhat low key since it was at our house but everyone definitely got a little rowdy and I loved it!
My friend, Jake, came up from the Eastern part of the state to ring in the new year with us and it was so good to see him. I literally haven't seen Jake since last January which is just crazy but true. He stayed at our house and he, Jaclyn and I spent the last few days running around together just like our old college days and it was so fun. I love the stage of life I'm in right now but sometimes I really miss those days where the three of us were attached at the hip and didn't do anything without each other.
Now, onto the party. It was a simple gathering with around 20 of my closest friends and neighbors. I had everyone bring an appetizer and we all just hung around and chatted. However, my favorite part about the party was the photo booth that Scott and I DIY'd. About a week ago I came up with the idea of a photo booth backdrop and thought it would add a little something extra to the party. I tried to find one to rent but nobody up here seems to do that and after searching online I discovered it would be fairly easy to just make it myself.
It was really so easy to do, only cost me about $50 and it was such a huge hit. People were taking photos all night and everyone's pictures turned out so, so cute!! Photo booth backdrops may become my new thing when it comes to parties. I loved having it!!!!
2013 was a great year but I can't help but think that 2014 is going to be even better! It's going to be a big year for my little family as we welcome our precious new addition in just a few short months. I really have no idea what to expect for 2014 but I know this year will bring such huge changes and I can't help but get very, very excited about it!
Here's to 2014!! May it be the best year yet for me and all of you as well! Happy New Year!!!

  1. I love the photo booth back drop idea. I went to an ugly Christmas sweater party a few weeks ago and they had it. It was so much fun taking pics in front of it. Happy New Year!!
