Christmas Parties

This weekend Scott and I went to our annual ugly Christmas sweater party and I'm a little bummed because we didn't get one photo!! This makes two weekends in a row that we've gone out and done something which is just so rare we almost didn't even know what to do with ourselves. I ended up finding a babysitter for the boys who is a freshman at the UofA and an absolute doll. I was late to the party because I couldn't stop talking to her and her sweet self! She's a Chi-O and I mentioned that I was a Kappa in the '03 pledge class which, to me, doesn't seem like it was that long ago but when I said it I immediately felt like an old grandma. I'm having a lot of these moments lately. I was in a local boutique picking something up yesterday and while I was checking out, Say My Name by Destiny's Child came over the radio. I said to the girl "oooohhh I haven't heard this song in forever! It's such a good one!!" She stared at me blankly and I said "you probably weren't even born when this song came out were you?" to which she replied "I mean....I don't know.....I've never heard of it before." Womp Womp.
I snapped these photos of my girls a few days ago and I love how they turned out! Any photo in front of a Christmas tree with the bokeh lights in the background is automatically going to be a favorite for me. These two are my favorite subjects to photograph because they sit still and look at me all sweet like if I say "treat!" Piece of cake.
This is the boys last week of Mothers Day Out before Christmas break. I'm honestly looking forward to some lazy days over the next few weeks. I feel like we're always going and going so it will be nice to stay in our pj's until noon and do nothing but watch TV and eat a lot of snacks!
I told Scott we are slacking in our holiday traditions so we need to start taking care of them ASAP. Baking Christmas cookies, visiting Santa, going to see Christmas lights, and hopefully start a new tradition this year by riding on this Christmas train we have in our town. We have a lot to do in the next 13 days!

  1. I don't care how old you are, you should know Destiny's Child!
