Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas Day! I set my alarm for 6:40 because I thought it would be a good idea for me to shower before the boys got up so we could take our time with them in the morning and not have to worry about getting dressed. My alarm went off and I checked the monitor and to my surprise, the boys were already awake! Thirty minutes earlier than they usually are. So I axed my shower plan and Scott and I went to their rooms to get them out of bed. I was so excited to see their reaction to Santa's gifts. They were much more quiet than I thought they would be. I think they were just taking it all in. They were so excited about their presents though and Scott and I had fun watching them in awe of their new gifts!
The super hero costumes were the last gifts the boys opened. Campbell was so pumped about his Power Rangers costume but I can't even begin to tell you how excited Bennett was over his Spiderman costume. He wanted to put it on right away and he wore it the rest of the morning. He wanted to wear it in the car to Little Rock and I had to bribe him with candy to make him change. It's really the first "big boy" gift Bennett has ever gotten and I think that just made him so happy and feel so big. He was so quiet when he first had it on.....like he was just in awe that he was getting to be Spiderman. It was so cute and I hope I never forget it.
After a big, delicious breakfast (that only Scott and I ate--the boys were too busy with their new toys) and a quick catnap (Santa and Mrs Claus hit a wall) we got ready to head to Little Rock to spend the rest of our Christmas with my family. I actually enjoy driving to Little Rock on Christmas because I get 3 hours to just sit and listen to Christmas music. We arrived to Little Rock shortly before dinner and the boys were so excited to be there and see their cousins. We tortured the kids by eating dinner first then went upstairs to open presents. Campbell took his present opening very seriously and Bennett got another costume (Mickey Mouse for him Buzz Lightyear for Campbell, but Bennett took them both over) and we realized how much Bennett loves costumes. We've never bought them for him before but he got several for Christmas and he is obsessed!
The day couldn't have been better! We had a really great Christmas and made a lot of wonderful memories. I love this little family of mine more than words could ever express. It was definitely a Very Merry Christmas for the Johnsons!
