Bird Sightings

I recently mentioned that I have (unexpectedly) picked up a new bird hobby. I love feeding and watching my backyard birds! I have been wanting to get good photos of my birds but struggled because I didn't have a long enough zoom lens. A few days ago I decided to try shooting through my window and surprisingly to me, the photos are turning out sharp and you can't even tell they're through a window. I have such a wide variety of birds and today I wanted to share my photos of all of the different bird species I have been feeding.

Carolina Chickadee

American Goldfinch

White-breasted Nuthatch

Northern Cardinal--Male

Carolina Wren

Common Grackle

Tufted Titmouse

House Finch--Male

Downy Woodpecker

American Starling

White-throated Sparrow

Red-winged Blackbird

Northern Cardinal--Female

Red-bellied Woodpecker

Mockingbird

Cedar Waxing

Dark-eyed Junco

I've had several new species show up today that I haven't ever seen before. They birds are all searching hard for food right now thanks to this brutally cold weather. I'm so thankful that I got into feeding these birds over the last few months. They are all very well fed at my house!! I highly encourage bird feeding and watching. It has been so much fun and I love all of the different species of birds that fly up to my my feeders. I never knew much about the different species but I am so glad to be learning now. It's been such a fun hobby that everyone in our family has enjoyed!
