Hollywood Studios Day

Hollywood Studios Day!! This might be Scott's favorite park and there is A LOT to do here so we knew it was going to be a big day. Thankfully this park doesn't open until 9:00 right now so we were able to sleep in a little bit compared to the day before. We did leave our resort around 8:00 so we would be able to beat the skyliner crowd--which we did, thankfully. We got to the park around 8:30 and headed straight to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. We knew the boys would love this new ride but especially Wells and he did!! It was a fun start to a fun day.

Of course right after we walked over to Toy Story Land, however, we didn't ride anything. The wait times were really long and we knew as the day went on that they would calm down. I did grab a pop tart from Andy's Lunchbox and it lived up to the hype just FYI.

Anywho, it was time for our que for Rise of the Resistance. Woo Hoo! This was another ride where we took advantage of Rider Swap. Scott and the big boys went first so Wells and I decided to do some shopping along Sunset Blvd. It was nice to take my time browsing the cute stores and Wells found some goodies for himself in the process.

By the time the boys were done riding Rise of the Resistance it was time for our lunch reservations at Hollywood and Vine. We had never dined here before but had always wanted to. It's a character meal in Hollywood Studios and, at the time of booking our trip, was the only character meal available so we wanted to be able to do at least one.

I didn't bother taking a picture of my meal here because it was one of the worst meals I've had at Disney. The food was not horrible but it really just wasn't good which was a shame since it was also the most expensive meal we had on this trip at a whopping $230!! Highway robbery I tell ya. The menu is different now than it usually is so maybe we caught it at a bad time but I'll never go back and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The characters weren't that great, the atmosphere was blah and for some odd reason it was crazy expensive. That's my opinion on this restaurant so there's that.

After lunch we took Wells to see the Cars show. We have never done this experience before and it was so great!! Wells is OBSESSED with the Cars movies so this was so exciting for him. He loved it. After the show was over it was time for Scott and the big boys to go build their droids in Star Wars land. We had made a reservation for them to do that when we first booked our trip. They were all three excited and Scott said it was a super cool experience. While they did that, I took Wells to the baby care center to freshen up then he and I watched a show called Vacation Fun. I had no idea what it was going to be but it could not have been more perfect for Wells. It was basically a mashup of a lot of shows from The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse which he is obsessed with and watches every single day. We sat in a big, comfy theater and after the show was over he looked at me and said "again? again!?" It was great and I loved my one on one time with my sweet little guy.

The whole family met back up again and this time we were able to hit up Toy Story Land and finally do some rides. Scott finally beat me at Toy Story Mania. Sad day. I'll get him next time.

I wanted my turn at Rise of the Resistance so Campbell rode it again with me while Scott, Bennett and Wells went to watch Vacation Fun. It really is such a cool experience and lives up to the hype. I had forgotten about the big drop at the end of the ride so that took me by surprise!

Before long it was time for dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby. We eat here every time we go to Hollywood Studios and it never disappoints. I highly recommend it. I always get the chicken and it's always delicious.

Our time at the park was coming to an end but we still had a lot of things we wanted to do so we decided to power through. We wanted to see Muppet's 3D Vision because that's something we had never done before and Bennett loves the Muppets! It was a really cute show and I'm glad we got to see it.

The wait for Runaway Railway was short so we popped on that again then ended the day with Slinky Dog. Bennett and I were quite literally the very last people to ride the ride that day. We were the only ones on the coaster and I'm so thankful they let us do it even though the park had technically already shut down. Bennett was SO proud of himself for riding such a big boy ride and he went on and on about it the rest of the way home.

We got back to our resort way too late and we were all so tired because we did all the things in Hollywood Studios. Totally worth it though. Wells truly got to experience his three absolute favorite things this day: Toy Story, Cars, and Mickey. And we got to do so many things we've always wanted to do in the past but just never had a chance to do. That's the thing about Disney, no matter how many times you've been, there's always something you've never done before, and that makes it a lot of fun!
