Campbell's First Razorback Tailgate

I've mentioned previously that we took Campbell to his very first Razorback tailgate on Saturday. Scott and I have been looking forward to taking Campbell to tailgate for so long now!! It never worked out last year mostly because of nap schedules and we got lucky for this game because it just so happened to work out perfectly with Campbell's schedule since it was an afternoon game.

We got to the tailgate around 11:00. It was hot but not too terrible especially under the big tailgate tent. I assumed Scott and I would have to take turns chasing Campbell the entire time since our little man never sits still these days. Since it was Campbell's lunch time, I fixed him a little plate of food and he sat in a chair eating and soaking in everything for such a long time. It was so nice because Scott and I both actually felt like we could enjoy ourselves and socialize with friends instead of chase a toddler the entire time. 

I feel as if this photo would make a perfect meme for Razorback football. I'm just not clever enough to come up with one. It cracks me up. 

This is where Campbell sat while he people watched and gave high fives to everyone who asked for one. Occasionally he would get down and roam but he never strayed from our little area. He kept that water bottle and chip in his hand the entire two hours we were there. 

I couldn't have asked for a better tailgate with Campbell! We got lucky with the timing of the game because it was right during Campbell's nap time. We would love to take him back if the timing works out. Campbell had such a fun time tailgating and he was really mesmerized when the Razorback band came around to play. He thought that was really neat! Scott and I left about an hour before the game started, put Campbell down for his nap right away then watched the first game of the season. Hoping for a fun, exciting and winning year with Razorback football!!

Labor Day 2015

I hope your Labor Day weekend has been really fun!! Mine has most definitely been my idea of the perfect weekend (yay!). We took Campbell to tailgate on Saturday. I'll share more about that tomorrow! It was so much fun.
I kicked off our weekend on Saturday morning with homemade cinnamon rolls. Campbell and Scott (and Ivy and Madison) love them. We all had breakfast in bed and watched Disney Jr before we started getting ready for the tailgate. Definitely a good way to start the weekend off!

We took Campbell to the tailgate but came home to watch the game. We watched college football for the rest of the day and ended the night with getting a pizza delivered. Classic college football Saturday in this house that's for sure.

The rest of the weekend consisted of church and some serious pool time. The weekend was full of so much fun for Campbell that it wore him out. He took a 3 hour nap yesterday and a 3.5 hour nap today! Scott just wanted to hang out at home and relax while Campbell napped so I got to go to the pool and hang out with my neighbors and it felt like that's all I did all weekend. It was bliss! I wanted to bring Campbell out to the pool for a little bit over the weekend since we only have a few more days left to enjoy it this summer. He joined in on the fun yesterday and he really tickled Scott and I because he wouldn't take his little sunglasses off! He just walked around the pool in his shades, snacked on veggie straws, and floated in the pool. Oh and he also got the Hog call started for everyone and Scott and I have never been more proud. Hehe! Our little man cracks us up.

Sometimes Campbell couldn't care less about the pool and sometimes he LOVES it. This weekend he loved it and that made it so much fun. All in all, most definitely a fantastic Labor Day weekend. I hope you all enjoyed yours as well!

Weekend Plans

Today went much better than yesterday did. That's pretty much how it's always worked. Hard baby one day, perfect baby the next. Go figure.

We don't have a whole lot planned for the weekend and I wouldn't want it any other way. We haven't had a "normal" weekend around here in a long time so I'm looking forward to the same ol' same ol'. We're planning on taking Campbell to his first Razorback tailgate tomorrow!! I'm pretty sure he'll love it and be A-OK. Scott and I will have to take turns chasing after him because Campbell doesn't know what it means to just be still. He's always, always on the move! There's no way on Earth we could ever actually take him into the game. Maybe one day.....years down the road, but for now we'll just have to experience the tailgate only. The game will be on during Campbells nap so the timing to tailgate worked out pretty great. We'll get home, put him down for his nap, then watch the game from the comforts of our living room.

The rest of our weekend will be full of friends, the pool, and relaxing. At least that's what I'm hoping for! I can't believe that summer is basically over after this weekend. That makes me so sad! It's truly been such a great summer and I'm going to miss it so much. I have done what I said I'd do and spent almost every day at the pool this week. Soaking it all in!! It's worked out perfectly with Scott's schedule this week to work from home so I can go to the pool while Campbell naps. Hello, I'm Kara and in case you haven't noticed, I love the pool. And a good tan, obviously.

Days Like This

Yep. It's been one of those days folks. I woke up this morning bursting with energy. It's a rarity. I decided to be super mom and have a fun day with my little guy. We were up and out of the door by 9:00. That happens (willingly) maybe 3 times a year. Not much opens before 10 am but I knew Barnes and Noble would be. Campbell loves it there and I thought we could both use a new book. We got there and everyone knew it! Campbell doesn't have an inside voice. He had so much fun playing with the train table while I was trying to focus on what new book I should get him. Before I knew it he started falling apart on me and I literally have no idea why. I ran to the bathroom--with my hand covered over his mouth to mask the screaming--to try to get him to pull it together. We got in the bathroom, I looked at him and said "what is the matter with you" to which he replied by giving me a kiss. Aww. Okay then. I went to my section, grabbed the book I've been wanting to read, and we got outta there.
We popped in Homegoods since it's close by and Campbell was such a sweet little shopping buddy. He allowed me to take my time and and waved and said hi to anyone who looked his direction.
After that I wanted to pop in a baby boutique to quickly grab a gift for a friend who recently had a baby. Before I knew it I was marching out of the store, holding a toddler with tears streaming down his face, and calling his Daddy to ask him why?????
The Chick Fil A lunch plans instantly got axed and we headed straight home instead. We retreated to our bonus room, I laid on the couch to de-stress and wait on Scott to get home so I could peace out. There's days where your husband must be called in for backup, without questioning you, and today was one of those days.
While I was giving Campbell his bath tonight, I couldn't help but laugh. Probably because he took his  bath rinsing cup and poured water all over me soaking every bit of my left side. This was after he threw his towel in the tub full of water and demanded every single bath toy be put in there with him because of course. Like, OMG!!!!! my life is crazy. But today he learned how to say "Mooo" when I asked him "what does the cow say?" so I think that perfectly sums up how life with a toddler goes. Sending out an SOS to the husband one minute, and a few minutes later clapping so proudly because your kid said Moo.

Setting The Scene

A couple of weekends ago, when Campbell was at my parents house and Scott and I had a free weekend to ourselves, we decided to grab the camera and hunt for some new photography locations. We're always looking for somewhere different to take photos but never really have the time to search. We mostly just take pics of Campbell but occasionally we take photos of other families so we always want to find good spots to do that! We stumbled upon this little area and it may be my new favorite backdrop. I can't wait to take Campbell there to get some cute pics of him!!
