Campbell's First Krispy Kreme

A few weeks ago Scott and I were so bored and desperate to find something to do for entertainment. We didn't want to go do anything that took place outdoors because it was way too hot but we just couldn't stand being inside watching Disney Jr anymore! We decided to load up the peanut and run some not so fun errands just so we would have something to do. After our stop in PetSmart to get the girls some food, we decided to go to TCBY to grab some yogurt. At the last minute we thought Campbell would have a mighty swell time indulging in his first Krispy Kreme so we headed towards the donuts instead.

I can't remember the last time I had a Krispy Kreme. It's just not something I ever think about eating. We walked in the door and were greeted with a warm, fresh donut hot from the oven and oh my heavens. Why isn't this a part of my daily life? I gobbled the entire thing down and before I knew it we ordered a dozen to go. 

We sat Campbell down to let him indulge in his first Krispy Kreme. He wasn't sure what to make of it at first but the moment it touched his lips, he became a donut eating pro. 

It's safe to say Campbell is a major fan of the classic Krispy Kreme donut. He asked us why we kept this from him up until now. We may have to start making the Krispy Kreme outings a regular thing from now on.

A Summer Go To | My Swing Slip Dress

Every once in a while I get the urge to mix things up around here and talk fashion. Today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite summer dresses that's new to my closet this year. This dress is so comfortable and helps me keep cool during this crazy hot weather. I purchased it from a local boutique and tried to find it online but it looks as if it's all sold out. However you can find a similar look by the same designer HERE and it's less than $30! Can't beat that. 

I didn't notice until I started writing this post but I've worn this dress every time we've gone to the farmers market this summer!! Ha! I'm not kidding when I say it helps me stay cool and I guess I subconsciously always grab it when I know I'm going to be outside in the sweltering heat.

This dress is simple but comfortable and easy to just throw on and go. Every girl needs something like that in their closet especially when they're in a hurry! 

Seersucker has been a staple for Campbell this summer and I think he pulls it off pretty well!

My Parents Little Rock Home

Today I wanted to give you all a tour of my parents home in Little Rock. I was born and raised in El Dorado (South Arkansas) but once I graduated from high school my parents uprooted and moved to the state capital. This is the second home they've lived in, in Little Rock. I loved their first house but they were in the mood for a change and moved in two weeks before I gave birth to Campbell. Scott and I drove down to Little Rock to help them get set up and at 35 weeks pregnant, I was all about organizing the pantry. Nothing can keep me away from organizing!! Here's a tour of my parents beautiful Chenal home.

The kitchen, like most homes, is where we always gather together as a family. The french blue kitchen cabinets gave inspiration for my Mom to use that as an accent color throughout the house.

This is "mine and Scotts" bedroom. To the very left of the canvas is a door that leads directly into Campbell's room/playroom. The setup could not be more perfect for us. 

Campbell has the most beautiful Restoration Hardware crib to sleep in and a playroom full of books and toys. Some of the toys (and play table) are my old toys and some of the books are from when my Dad was a little boy. 

This is my "Grammy's room" (my Mom's mom) which shares a Jack and Jill bathroom with our room.

I also love their courtyard outdoor space. Trees are surrounding their lot so they have privacy which is so lovely. They have a nice covered area with a fireplace and my Mom has decorated the back patio beautifully with gorgeous flowers. I get my green thumb from her!

I am in love with my parents home. I love the style and colors my mother chose. She wanted to go with a calming pallet but also has the pop of french blue color which I never grow tired of. She even has Lenox dinner plates that match the blue!  

This home is truly beautiful and so cozy all at the same time. It's a wonderful place for all of us to gather for family time and holidays. And speaking of the holidays, you should see it!! I may have to share another tour of the home during Christmas.

Weekend Journey

We spent our weekend in Little Rock. We didn't have anything going on here in NWA and figured we may as well go down and hang out with family. Campbell was such a trooper on the drive there and back and he loved getting to hang out in Little Rock with his Pops and Gamma. Mostly his Gamma because he's completely obsessed with her.

On Saturday morning we all woke up and went to the Little Rock farmers market. It's very different from the Farmers Market here. My Mom and Dad picked up a lot of fresh fruits and veggies while Scott and I decided to go for some homemade salsa. Oh my stars it's the best salsa in a jar that I've ever eaten. It's called Salsome and it was seriously delicious. If you live in Little Rock you've got to go to the Farmers Market just to get some Salsome. Yum. 

After the farmers market and lunch downtown, we headed back home so Campbell could take a nap. While he did that, Scott and I snuck out and ran around town. One of our stops was to Babies R Us to get a baby gate for our stairs. We both pouted about having to put one of those up. Ugh! We always hang out in the bonus room upstairs and just shut the door and it's no big deal. But the girls are always wanting in and out and it would actually be easier to be able to just leave the door open. Campbell always, always stops at the stairs and knows he can't go down them. But as Scott said "we would feel like real jerks if something happened and Campbell fell down the stairs just because we wanted our house to look nice." So the responsible decision won and now we own a baby gate. We're planning on installing it this evening. 

After our errands we took some pictures of the little ones. It was pretty much impossible to get one of them together. Campbell was not in the mood and he doesn't sit still for more than .8 seconds so this was as good as we got. I still love it though. I absolutely cannot wait for the holidays. It's going to be so much fun this year.

Scott and I ended up having a date night on Saturday night which was a nice little treat! After dinner he asked if I wanted to go to a movie and I told him I just really wanted to go to Homegoods. So that's what we did! I'm a simple gal these days who just wants to be able to shop at Homegoods and take my time. 

We had fun in Little Rock and I'm glad we were able to go. The girls love to getaway and hang out at their Pops and Gammas house too. I enjoy spending time in Little Rock and I'm glad my parents live in a fun place that's easy for us to get to. Although I'd much prefer them to live here of course!!
