Cute Cousins

We had such a fun weekend! My parents came up for a visit and brought my niece, Avery, with them. Campbell and Avery are 9 months and 2 days apart in age and they have so much fun playing together. I think they know they're cousins and it's so cute to watch them together. Our weekend was all about making sure they had fun and I'm pretty sure we succeeded. There were lots of giggles and also really long naps from getting over stimulated. Haha!
I took this picture of Avery on Sunday morning and I love it so much. She was cuddled up on the sofa with her Minnie and her baby and she looked so sweet. She was also snuggled up in her bumpers which is her version of a comfort blanket and it tickles me so much! I love that she's chosen her bumpers as her lovie. I will always remember that about her!
The boys didn't have Mothers Day Out today and it was kind of nice to have an easy, slow morning. We usually only get slow mornings on Fridays so it was nice to have a break from the rush of getting out of the door. On our lazy mornings we all cuddle in my bed while Campbell watches TV and because of this I get to lay there and drink my hot cappuccino in peace. Today Campbell snuggled with Bennett while they watched Mickey Mouse together and it was so sweet. I just love watching this brother love. It makes my heart so happy!!

Bennett | 5 Months Old

Weight: 11 pounds, 4 ounces as of Wednesday

Height: 25 inches.
Sleep: We're transitioning from 3 naps to 2 so it feels like we're all over the place right now. Some days he takes 3 naps, sometimes it's 2 naps and a catnap and sometimes it's just 2 naps. Because of this we don't have much of a set schedule right now and it's driving me nuts! I'm going to work on getting us on a specific nap schedule this week because I don't like how disorganized this makes me feel. Bennett sleeps from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM at night. He likes to sleep on his side and is always very anxious to go to bed for the night.

Eat: I'm still exclusively breastfeeding Bennett. His diet consists of breast milk only and he eats 5 times a day. I've offered him a taste of bananas twice and he was totally uninterested. I haven't decided if I want to start solids yet or wait until next month. I have a feeling he's not going to love food the way his brother did. He's totally satisfied on his milk diet despite what the scales may say!
Clothes: Bennett still wears 0-3 month clothes. This cooler weather is about to force us into 3-6 month clothes even though we aren't quite ready for them yet so our outfits may look a little big for a few weeks. Bennett wears 3-6 month Kickee Pants pajamas and size newborn moccs.

Diapers: Size 2 Pampers Swaddlers and size 3 Pampers overnight diapers.
Likes: Smiling, baths, going for a stroll, the paci, his thumb, cuddling, watching big brother play, laying on his back and looking around, getting tickled.

Dislikes: There isn't much that makes Bennett unhappy but he does not like the few minutes it takes to get his diaper and pj's on right after his bath. He cries and cries to let us know he is ready for his momma to get in the rocking chair so he can eat himself to sleep!!
Milestones: Bennett learned how to roll over both ways this month! He grabs and plays with toys now and they almost always go straight to his mouth. Bennett discovered his feet this month and he loves to grab his toes all the time. He's really good at sitting up (assisted) and his coos have turned to jibber jabbers!

Month Five: Despite a lingering cold that just didn't want to go away this month, Bennett was still just as sweet as ever! We finally got him some antibiotics and I think we've kicked this cold for good. This is the first month where Bennett is really into the paci. He doesn't need his paci to go to sleep but he almost always wants it when he's awake.
All About Bennett: Bennett smiles all the time and his smiles are so big. He opens his mouth wide and his entire face lights up. Bennett loves Campbell and Campbell is so sweet to pay Bennett as much attention as he does. Five months later and Bennett is still just the sweetest, most chill and happiest little baby. I can't believe I got so lucky to have this easy of a baby. It still amazes me daily! We adore our "boo" and life with him is just so wonderful.

Feels Like Fall

Today was the first day that it has felt like fall here in Northwest Arkansas. It was so nice! We wore fall clothes and kept our heat on. I got up and moving this morning (it's rare usually) because I needed to go to Walmart to get groceries for homemade enchiladas to make for dinner tonight. I think it took me a whole hour to make it through the store and get everything I needed. Grocery shopping with both kids is something I try to avoid doing to the best of my ability. I should have planned ahead so I could do the Walmart grocery pick-up. Next time.
I did manage to get both boys down for their nap at the same time today. I love when that happens!! During that time I got so much done, including getting dinner made. I have learned that if you have alone time to get it done then you might as well take advantage even if it means getting started at 1:00 PM. Bennett woke up from his nap before Campbell did and Scott was home working so I wrapped my little guy up and we went for a quick walk around the neighborhood.
My parents and niece are here for the weekend. We have a birthday party to go to then the rest of our weekend will be a free for all. I'm sure we'll do something fun tomorrow for Campbell and Avery. They're so cute and we all get so much entertainment out of simply watching them play together.
I washed the girls bed today (my washer has a 'pet beds' setting....how cool is that?) and as soon as I pulled it out of the dryer they ran and hopped in. They LOVE a clean, warm bed. Can't say I blame them!!

Weight, Boots and Babies

Sorry for my MIA status!! It's been a stressful week. And a busy week....actually it's always a busy week but you know.
My little runt is following in big brothers footsteps with his slow weight gain. If you've been reading my blog for a while (and have a really good memory) you'll remember that I shared about Campbell's slow weight gain when he was the exact same age Bennett is. I thought it was due to Campbell's reflux and the insane amount of spit up he had. But Bennett never, ever spits up anymore so we don't have that to blame it on. Yet again, we find ourselves going to the doctor to get weighed weekly....same song, second verse. It puts a lot of stress on me because I'm the person responsible for Bennett's weight gain since I'm exclusively breastfeeding him. Not only do I exclusively breastfeed, I nurse him 98% of the time so I have no idea how much he's eating. I KNEW this would happen again and I told myself I wouldn't get stressed about it but here we are and I'm all stressed. It's hard not to be when people are telling you your milk isn't good enough. Lots of tears have been shed and the pump and me are frenimies currently. At the beginning of the week it was all I could think about but a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders because my momma heart knows nothing is wrong with me, my milk, or my baby and I'm tired of people telling me otherwise. I'll share more next week (after our next weight check, ugh!) but that's the story behind my lack of posts!!! #MommaStress
In happy news, I scored these Hunter rain boots for Campbell for $20!! Yep, that's right. I've actually had my eye on these exact boots for Campbell and almost got them for him for Christmas last year but never took the plunge. I got them at this place in Springdale called The Deal Depot and it's my new favorite store. They get items and discount them an insane amount. It's almost like TJ Maxx but it's mostly baby stuff and the stuff is awesome. They stock the floor on Friday night with their new shipments then open the doors for you to come and buy at 10:00 am on Saturday. Apparently there's a line of mom's waiting to get in to buy their cheap baby gear and the stuff gets snatched up within 15 minutes. It sounds like Black Friday, mom style. They get a new shipment in next Saturday and I'm totally going to be one of those moms waiting for the doors to open. The guy who owns the store couldn't believe they had these boots left when I got there around noon last Saturday. I guess they were meant to be mine! I can't wait to see what I score next Saturday!
And in even happier news, my friend, Jax, had her baby boy earlier this week. I finally got to snuggle sweet baby Hayes early this morning and he sure is dreamy! I love when my friends have babies. Our crew gets a little larger every year with all of these new additions and I couldn't be happier about it!
