Campbell | Eleven Months

Weight: I would guess 17-18 pounds.

Height: Probably around 30 inches. He seems to grow about an inch a month.
Sleep: Sleep schedule hasn't changed for many months now. Still sleeps around 7:30-7:00 and takes two naps a day. First nap is always right at 9:00 and the second nap is anywhere between 2:00-3:00. Both naps are usually an hour to an hour and a half long.

Eat: Campbell still LOVES to eat and will still eat anything. Thankfully he's started to slow down when he eats instead of scarfing it down without taking a breath. He eats a lot. We order him a kids meal when we go out to eat and he eats every single bite. It's crazy! I've started giving Campbell an afternoon snack every day now. It's always just a small bowl of puffs, cheerios and yogurt melts to tide him over until dinner. I'm still nursing Campbell. Yay! I'm so proud of myself for making it this far. I nurse him 3 times a day but in about a week I'm going to start the weaning process. I'm looking forward to the freedom of not breastfeeding anymore but it also makes me a little sad.

Clothes: Campbell is wearing all 6-12 month clothes. Some of his 6-9 month outfits still fit if I stretch the legs out really good after I've washed them.
Diapers: Size 3 Pampers Swaddlers and Pampers Baby Dry at night.

Likes: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is Campbell's absolute favorite thing. Judge if you feel the need but Campbell is obsessed and loves it so much. I'm done with feeling guilty about it. If he loves it and it makes him happy, then so be it. It makes life easier, quieter and run more smoothly so a few Mickey Mouse episodes a day it is. When Campbell isn't sitting in front of the TV with his fingers in his mouth completely entranced with Mickey and the gang, he's playing toys and enjoys reading books!! His favorite book is Doggies with Moo Baa La La La coming in at a close second. He also loves any touch and feel book. Campbell loves pulling toys out of his basket. He loves playing with door stoppers and opening and closing drawers and doors. Bath time is still his favorite time of the day. He also likes brushing his teeth. He gets a huge grin on his face every time I pull out the toothbrush and toothpaste.

Dislikes: Campbell still isn't a fan of the church nursery but he gets better every time he goes. It helps that he's there three times a week now (church, my bible study and MDO) and they always tell me he does wonderful after the initial drop off cry. He also doesn't like waiting for his food to get prepared so I have to make sure his meals are all fixed and ready to be devoured before I can set him in his high chair.
Milestones: Campbell finally started crawling!! It took him forever to decide he was ready for it but once he started crawling he was a pro. He's also pulling up, can go from a laying to sitting position, likes to sit on his knees, and is imitating our sounds. Campbell walks while he holds our hands and sort of cruises furniture but just a few steps at a time.  He's really babbling a lot and says "dada" "mama" "baba" lala" but I don't really count them as "talking" or his "first words". He's can stand on his own for a short amount of time and he focuses really hard while he's doing it!

Month Eleven: This has been a great month! I knew once Campbell started crawling he would be more content and happy and he is. He just crawls around, explores and does his thing and he loves it.

All About Campbell: I know I say this every month but Campbell is so sweet. The ladies who watch him at MDO always go on and on about how sweet he is. He loves his Momma!! :) and prefers me over anyone else. Of course I'm around him the most but still. Campbell is a great sleeper and a great eater.  He loves to just sit in my lap and cuddle. His big open mouth, very wet kisses melt my heart and bath time is my favorite time of the day with him. He is so ticklish and that big belly laugh when I tickle him or whisper in his ear brings the biggest grin to my face. I love this little boy so much I could just cry. He is so perfect and so special and I feel so, so blessed to be his Mommy.

Three Of My Favorite [easy] Recipes

Now that Campbell eats basically what we eat, I find myself having to meal plan for the week and cook a lot more than I used to. I've always enjoyed cooking but before Campbell came around, I can't even tell you how many times we opted for 'cheese platter night' as our dinner of choice. Or sometimes Scott and I would just skip dinner entirely if neither of us were hungry. Now I make a huge list and hit the store on Sundays. It's so much easier to shop for the entire week than to make multiple trips to the store. Plus it's just a stress relief to have it all planned out and done.
I've been searching and trying recipes on Pinterest a lot more than I used to and today I thought I would share some of my new dinner favorites. I'm all about easy and these recipes are just that.
I love this meal. It doesn't create a ton of dishes to clean up and it's seriously delicious. I add more chicken broth than the recipe calls for so it's more soup-y. Campbell enjoys the red beans and it's great protein for him! Click HERE for the recipe.
For the longest time I searched for a good, classic roast recipe but never found one that was just right--until this one! The crock pot is my new favorite way to cook and this meal is great for Campbell. I make it 2-3 times a month and it's so quick and easy. The link to the website is a little strange and I never can get it to work but you can find the ingredients HERE on my Pinterest page. You just mix it all together and throw it in the pot. I add carrots and forgo the orange because Scott is allergic to orange. I'm pretty sure it doesn't alter the taste one little bit. Sister Schubert rolls on the side make it extra delicious!
This isn't actually a meal that I feed Campbell but it's too good not to share! These BBQ chicken sandwiches are so yum and I typically always have the ingredients laying around my house so it's a good one to just throw together. It's nice that the cook time is only 3-4 hours instead of 7-8 like some crock pot meals. Sometimes I don't have enough time in my mornings to get something in the crock pot so this one gives you some grace time and lets you take care of it around lunch! Check it out HERE.

Do you have any amazingly, easy and delicious meals that are a staple in your family? If so, share them with me! I'm always up for new recipes!!!

Dropped

Something horrible happened this weekend. I dropped my iPhone and the screen shattered into a zillion different pieces. My first thought when it happened was "well there's a $700 mistake." I don't have insurance (I'll be sure to get it from now on) and my plan isn't up for a renewal until the fall. Ugh. So frustrating. I still have my iPhone 3GS but who wants to go back to the stone age? I contacted apple to see if there was anything I could do and there's a chance I can just fix the screen as long as when I dropped it nothing on the inside was damaged. Thankfully we're going to Little Rock this weekend and I set up an appointment at the apple store there to get the screen repaired. It should only take an hour and cost just a little over $100. Done and done. That seems cheap compared to the cost of a brand new iPhone. I mean, how frustrating. I'm working hard to not cut my finger every time I swipe my phone and I have to squint super hard to be able to read anything on it. #MajorLifeProblems
I ordered Campbell's birthday invitations over the weekend. Yep, you read that correctly. How is my baby almost one? I can't believe it!! Longest and shortest year of my life. You know that saying "the days are long but the years are short?" Yes. I'm so excited to send them out and I tried to do a personalized stamp for extra cuteness but my husband shot that down because he said that wasn't necessary. He is so wrong but whatever.
Last night some of the ladies in my neighborhood and I went to Junque 2 Jewels to get crafty. I made this door hanger and I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I love neighborhood gatherings. We always have so much fun.

Bedroom Makeover

My bedroom recently got a makeover and I love how it turned out! This has been a room in our house that we've never quite finished and it feels so good to finally have it completed after almost 3 years of living here. We've always had our nightstands and curtains but everything else is new. The rug used to be in our living room but we put it in here instead and I love having it in our room.
Everything new is from Bassett. I love all of their stuff and we've really enjoyed working with the decorators. They've come to our house a few times and I've pretty much let them take over and it's been awesome. I love decorating but sometimes it's nice to just hand it over and not mess with it.
The girls love having a bench in "their" room now. I think they approve of the new look!
I'm so glad to have this room complete and I'm really pleased with the way it pulled together! I've always loved the space and layout but now I love it even more. It would be nice to have a beautiful light fixture but Scott and I run that fan even when there's snow on the ground!!! Gotta have a fan....

First Snow of the Season

We woke up to a winter wonderland today! I was really hoping to get some snow this year because I think you should always get to enjoy at least one snow every year, right? Normally I stay holed up for one or two days then brave the roads and get out because I'm going stir crazy. However, now that I have Campbell I won't be getting out unless the roads are completely clear and safe. I'm sure my cabin fever will hit a high around 3:00 tomorrow afternoon. Oh well. I'm going to stay warm and cozy inside with my peanut and nuggets and make the best of it!!
Since it's Campbell's first time to see snow we had to get out in our backyard and take some pictures of him in it. I love, love them. Like, I wanted to post a million of them on social media today but I refrained. Thankfully I have a blog so I can share them here!

Of course I can't leave my girls out! While Campbell took his afternoon nap I bundled Madison and Ivy up and let them play in the snow too. They love it so much. LOVE IT!
Doesn't the photo above just make you smile?! Looks like they're having a pretty good time huh? Love my girls!

Happy Valentines Day!

Heart Day

Does anyone have fun or special plans for Valentines Day tomorrow? We don't go real crazy for Valentines Day around here. Our plans are to get a Papa Murphy's pizza (our default dinner of choice for "holidays") and rent a movie. We may even get a bottle of champagne if we're feeling festive. Sounds like a pretty perfect Valentines Day if you ask me! I drove down to Ricks in Fayetteville today to get some sweet treats for dessert because I thought that would be fun. I think Valentines Day is a cute holiday and when Campbell is older I'll make it fun for him. Until then, I'm going to enjoy this no-fuss holiday with all four of the loves in my life that make me very happy. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Packed Lunch

Hey all! How's your Thursday treating you? Mine has been crazy busy. Campbell had Mothers Day Out today and I spent that time running around like a crazy person trying to get all sorts of things accomplished. I managed to check everything off my list except a trip to the grocery store. Scott just asked me if I still planned on going and I said no. Then he asked what we were going to eat for dinner and I just shrugged my shoulders and said....nothing. Ha. I hate going to the grocery store. I would rather just not eat.
Apparently we're going to be getting a lot of snow in this area early next week. That's just fine as long as I'm only trapped indoors for one day, two at the max. I get some serious cabin fever when I'm held captive by snow.
This morning my alarm clock (also known as Campbell) didn't go off until 7:45. I love when that happens except we had to be at MDO at 9:00 so it was a crazy morning trying to get out of the door. I didn't have a lot of time to get a great lunch packed for Campbell. I cut up some cheese, threw in some crunchies and applesauce, diced kiwi and blueberries and called it good. Last night I was on Pinterest searching for lunch ideas for Campbell but there wasn't much out there. Anyone have good ideas for packed finger foods for babies/toddlers? I try to do foods that make as little of a mess as possible so the ladies at MDO don't have to clean up very much. I love giving Campbell elbows pasta because it's so easy and doesn't make a mess. I always throw in some type of veggie with it and Campbell loves it. I want more meals like that. If you have any ideas please send them my way! If you're looking for ideas yourself, I found this link on Pinterest a couple of months back and I think it has great food ideas! We do basically all of these foods and I refer back to this link frequently to refresh my memory.

Stomach It

Well we all got struck with a terrible stomach virus over the weekend but thankfully we're all recovered and feeling just fine now.
I wasn't feeling great Sunday afternoon so I decided to lay down and take a nap while Campbell took his afternoon nap. I woke up to Scott yelling for help so I got out of bed and Scott was heading towards me with Campbell who had vomit all over him. I immediately grabbed him and set him in the kitchen sink to strip his clothes off. Then I sat Campbell on the floor and ran to the bathroom to do the same thing Campbell did. That was the beginning of about 10 horrible hours of me doing that over and over. OMG it was awful. I just laid with my face buried in my bed while I "watched" the Grammy's. The timing of my sickness worked out perfectly if that even makes sense. Campbell went to bed a few hours after it all got started and I wasn't sure how he would do but thankfully he slept all night long. I'm glad I wasn't having to take care of him while I was feeling awful myself. Scott was feeling just fine until around midnight when it struck him. We were a sad little couple all night long. Thankfully I still had some Zofran's from when I was pregnant and once I popped one of those bad boys in, I was healed. They didn't do anything for my "morning sickness" but they saved my life from this stomach virus.
I was a little weak and worn out yesterday and so was Campbell. He slept 13 hours that night then took two, two hour naps. All he wanted was for me to hold him. He was so pitiful but it was so sweet how cuddly he was. I'm grateful Campbell slept so much. I've heard some babies are up all the time when they're sick, and that may be the case for any future sickness we may have, but this time he just slept it off and I'm glad.
Today Campbell is back to his normal self and we got back into our normal routine. We still stayed home all day but had plenty of fun instead of feeling yuck. Campbell handled his first sickness like a champ!
I gave Campbell some cheerios for the first time today and he loved them! I'm tired of buying puffs. They take up so much space in my pantry and we blow through them. A box of cheerios seems way more economical. Once we finish off the last 3 tubes of puffs we have, I'm done. I've always worried about giving him cheerios because of choking (they don't seem to dissolve like puffs do) but I definitely think he's capable of handling them. I'm also working on using up all of this frozen milk I have. I worked so hard for that stuff, I refuse to not use it!!
So glad we're all feeling better and looking forward to getting back into our normal routine tomorrow. The stomach flu is no joke especially when it hits every single member of your family!! It just came on so fast and it's so crazy to me that it literally hit Campbell and I at the exact same time. I've always felt like it was inevitable that Campbell and I would get sick together at some point. Our first time was definitely a memorable one!
