On This Thursday

You know how you take a photo of your kid and you love the picture so much you just want to crawl through the camera and eat them? That's what this photo does to me. I snapped it of Campbell before he went into MDO out today and I love it so much. His sweet little self sucking on those fingers. It gives me heart eyes. I just can't get enough of this little boy.
Campbell is on the Freshly Picked website right now! I thought it was pretty cool when I stumbled upon it! They've asked me to use a lot of my photos many times before but I've never actually seen how or if they've used them. They did put one photo of Campbell in an email they sent out but this is the first time he's been on the website. Seeing as how I'm slightly obsessed with Freshly Picked, I find this to be pretty exciting!
I've had quite a few readers ask about me doing a makeup post. Honestly, I'm no expert. I went to a local beauty salon a few years ago and they fixed me all up with Laura Mercier and I love it. One new product I've recently started using over the last few months is Laura Mercier's Invisible Loose Setting Powder and I am completely obsessed with it. The description of the product says it creates a soft focus for your skin and that's the perfect way to describe it. It's my favorite product I've ever used and has really changed the way my makeup looks. I could go on and on about it but I just think you need to go get some and see for yourself!
There's a Chick Fil A basically next door to our church and after I pick Campbell up from MDO a lot of times we'll pull into the drive through to get a snack! Chocolate Chunk Cookie and a tea for me, applesauce for Campbell. :)

A Day Off

Campbell returned to Mothers Day Out yesterday after having a week off for "spring break." He was excited to be back and honestly, I was thrilled for him to go back. The timing couldn't have been more perfect because I was in desperate need of some time off. We had a busy week and an even busier weekend with Campbell's birthday and then Easter and I was exhausted. For the first time in what feels like months, I actually had nothing to do. No errands to run, no tasks to accomplish, no appointments, notta. I was excited to just be home in peace and quiet. After I dropped Campbell off, Scott suggested I take my day off and go and get a massage. So that's what I did. It was dreamy and I wish that's something I could do every week!! I feel like things are going to slow down for the next few weeks and I'm so glad. I told Scott that I'm so tired of running all over NWA trying to get things accomplished so having nothing on the agenda is a welcomed treat.
Once Campbell got home we met up with some friends at our neighborhood park then Scott, Campbell the girls and I all went for a walk. After our walk we played outside with some of Campbell's new birthday toys. This bubble machine is the best $10 I've ever spent. Campbell squeals and screams "BUBBLES!!!!" over and over (and over and over).
My tulips are in full bloom and I am so in love. I enjoy them every single spring and wish they could be a flower that lived year round. Tulips are without a doubt my favorite. I'm especially enjoying mine this year. I planted a couple of new colors to add to my already existing ones and I'm loving the combo. Purple, pink, yellow, orange, and white is what I have this year and it's by far my favorite to date. So colorful and so cheerful!

Campbell's 2nd Birthday Party

Campbell turned two on Saturday and we had a fun party to celebrate him! The theme was a Puppy Party because Campbell is so in love with dogs it seemed only fitting to throw him a doggy themed party. We had family and friends over to our house to help celebrate with us and Campbell had a blast! He had a smile on his face the entire time and it made my heart so happy that he enjoyed his party so much.
I adored Campbell's cake and thought it turned out so cute! It tasted pretty delicious as well!!
I catered Chick Fil A which made the party food prep pretty easy! I had some stickers done for the cups and also the little juice boxes and they were super cute! It added a fun little touch to the puppy party theme.
Our sweet family and friends spoiled Campbell. He has more toys than he knows what to do with!!
My wishes came true and Mother Nature provided us with the most gorgeous day! Since the weather was so perfect we had the party outside. We actually have a small little bounce house and all of the kids had so much fun playing in it. We also had some other toys set up for them to play with, a kids table filled with bone shaped crayons and puppy dog coloring pages, and a bubble machine and they all loved it! Giggles and big smiles all day. It made me so happy!!
Campbell blew out the candles on his birthday cake (and wanted to do it again and again) then we continued playing outside until it was time for all of the little kiddos to go home and get ready for bed. We were having so much fun playing outside that we forgot to take the time to open presents in front of everyone so we saved it for later that evening with just family and Campbell was so excited about all of his fun new gifts!!
Overall, such a fun, special day celebrating our little boy! He had the best time at his birthday party and it made me so, so happy. Campbell is such a happy little boy and he's surrounded with so many sweet people that love him and enjoyed celebrating him with us! A great and memorable 2nd birthday for our special little birthday boy!

Campbell Is Two!

Our precious peanut is two years old today. My how time has flown! I can't believe I have a two year old. Campbell is the best little toddler who brings us so much joy. He is such a happy little boy who loves his people so well and shows it so sweetly.
I fall more in love with this boy every single day which seems impossible but it's true. He's my buddy. My sidekick. My mornings start out with his excitement to see me "Hi Momma!" and my night ends with family hugs and kisses all around. And Campbell always shoves mine and Scott's faces together to make us kiss one another before bed every night. He always smiles so big and it makes Scott and I giggle every time. He loves that his Mommy and Daddy love each other.
I've said this so many times before but the best word to describe Campbell is sweet. He is the sweetest little boy. All of the ladies who work at MDO always comment to me about how sweet Campbell is and how happy he always is. They never believe me when I tell them that he was a very unhappy baby who cried all the time!! Campbell is such a great toddler and is definitely making up for those rough baby months (all 10 of them).

During Campbell's first year, I did monthly status updates on him. I'm going to do some two year stats just so I'll always remember and be able to have for my records.

Weight: 28 pounds

Sleep: Campbell goes to bed at 8:00 every night and sleeps until about 8:00 the next morning. He still sleeps in his crib, in a sleep sack, with two blankets, a big pillow and 3 of his lovies. He also takes a two(ish) hour nap from around 1:00-3:00. Campbell is so content in his crib and has never once attempted to climb out. He will happily and silently lay in his crib until I get him. Sometimes this can be a problem since he's my alarm clock and I wait on him to start talking to himself to wake me up. He's laid in his crib many times until 9:30 in the morning because he didn't make any noise for me to know he was awake!! I always feel so bad when that happens but he never seems to mind! Whoops! I had plans of moving him to a toddler bed soon but just this week I've decided to leave him in his crib for now. He loves it so why change it.

Eat: Campbell is slowly turning into a picky toddler. I knew the day would come and here we are. It's not terrible but he definitely won't gobble up anything I throw on his high chair tray anymore. I'm glad that Campbell will always at least try anything but we stay somewhat limited to a few certain foods. Without a doubt Campbell's favorite food is applesauce. The kid has about 4 applesauce pouches a day and would have quadruple that if I let him. He also loves all fruit (especially blueberries), yogurt, cereal, cheese, quiche, pb&j's, Cracker Barrel (carrots and hashbrown casserole + biscuits = his favorite meal), cheese quesadillas, a bowtie pasta with carrots, peas, corn and red peppers, sweet potatoes, and casseroles. Those are kind of our go-to's.

Clothes: Campbell just moved up to size 18-24 month clothes in baby gap and 12-18 month clothes in toddler gap. He wears size 24 month jon jon's, size 5 shoes, and I'm about to stick him in size 2T Kickee Pants.

Diapers: Campbell is still in diapers and I really have no idea when we'll start potty training him. He definitely is understanding the concept of going potty and will let me know when he's gone if I ask. We've bought a potty for him but he mostly just likes sitting on it and hasn't actually used it yet. A few times he's let me know when he's about to go potty so I think we're getting there and I'm hoping that before the summer is over he'll be potty trained. For now, we're sticking with size 5 pampers cruisers and size 5 pampers baby dry at night.

Likes: Applesauce, PJ Masks, playing outside, Ivy and Madison, cuddling with Momma, bubbles, pushing buttons, curling up in clean, warm laundry (haha!), stacking blocks, Mothers Day Out, dogs, balloons, the Amazeum and music.

Happy 2nd Birthday Campbell! We cannot imagine our world without your sweet presence in it. You brighten each day and bring more joy to our lives than you could possibly imagine. We love you!

31 Weeks

Size of Baby: 16 inches long and 3 1/3 pounds, about the size of a coconut.

How I'm Feeling: The best I've felt this entire pregnancy. It makes me wonder if Bennett has already dropped but I don't know if that even happens this soon or not? It's the only explanation to me as to why I feel so good.

Cravings/Appetite: My appetite is back and I don't hate eating food anymore. At times, I've actually been hungry for dinner which is a first in like, forever.

Clothes: Nice weather = comfy dresses. It's wonderful.

Movement: This little guy is really moving in there. I can most definitely tell that he is head down (it feels like he's way head down!) and I'm starting to feel the actual weight of his little body especially after I've been walking a lot. His little presence in my tummy is very hard to miss these days.
Changes in Me: Some nights I sleep like a rock and some nights I suffer from terrible insomnia. It's so frustrating and always a harsh reminder about the reality that will be my nights very soon. Did you know that I really love sleep? I may have mentioned that on here a time or two.

Baby Purchases: We made one final Restoration Hardware order this week to finalize those little items to complete Bennett's room. A changing pad and cover, a few storage bins, a pillow with his name monogrammed on it, a cool light for his wall, and a little plush animal have rounded out the final decorating process. Once it all comes in, we are officially done decorating Bennett's room!

Favorite Moment This Week: Feeling so good! I hope it keeps up for a few more weeks. I love the energy I have and that I actually feel like a normal person. You forget how terrible pregnancy can make you feel until you have a day (or week!) where you feel great. Then you realize just how rough you've had it for the last 31 weeks.

Looking Forward To: Campbell's birthday tomorrow!! His last birthday as an only child. We are excited to celebrate our sweet peanut with all of our friends and family. It's going to be a fun weekend!

Thursday Ramblings

We are spending the majority of our day bundled up inside. Why is it freezing suddenly? I have a lot to do around the house so I'm taking advantage of the not so nice weather by choosing to stay home and get things done around here. Lots of laundry, a little organizing, doing a few things to get ready for Campbell's party, and bit of cleaning will keep me occupied today.
This morning I was getting dressed and looked over to find Campbell all comfy. It really tickled me! I wish I could climb on top of a bunch of pillows and watch my favorite show like that. Campbell has on his elephant house slippers because he is obsessed with them. He loves wearing them and if someone comes over and he has them on, he runs over to them and lifts his foot up to show them his elephant shoes. They are stinking adorable and they stay on his feet so great. I got them at Restoration Hardware if anyone is in the market for some cute house slippers for their kiddos. The link is HERE if you want to check them out!!
I popped in Gap yesterday because the maternity section of our Gap is closing (such a bummer!) so they're having a major sale right now. Everything is on sale + 60% off the sale price. I got 2 pairs of jean shorts, 2 shirts, and one tank for crazy cheap. If you live in the NWA area and are in need of some maternity clothes you should definitely pop in there! I don't have much longer to go and I honestly never really buy anything maternity other than jeans but these were such a good deal I couldn't pass it up! Plus, these tops will totally work when I'm not pregnant so really it's a win, win!
Also, lets just talk about the process of trying on clothes with your toddler and their stroller in the dressing room. #momlife

Easter Basket Stuffers

Easter is early this year and quickly approaching!! Since my family will be in town for Campbell's birthday, we're spending our Easter here. We'll go to church then are planning on coming back to my house for a nice lunch then a little Easter egg hunt in my backyard. My niece, Avery, will be here so Campbell will have someone to hunt eggs with!
The Easter Bunny always came to my house and it was so fun and exciting for me as a little kid. I want to continue the tradition for Campbell (and Bennett!) and have an Easter basket full of goodies on Easter morning. I've slowly been collecting a few items to put in Campbell's Easter basket and I thought I'd share what I'm planning on giving him.
I've mentioned how much Campbell loves Jellycat books and I thought this one seemed like the perfect Easter gift to add to his collection. I also saw a few different bunny ones and a lamb that I thought would be cute for Easter but I decided to just stick with the duck.
I stumbled upon these Melissa and Doug 7 Days of Creation stacking and nesting blocks and I absolutely love them!!! Campbell's favorite thing to play with is stacking and nesting blocks (still!!) and I thought these were so perfect as an Easter gift. I'm so excited for him to enjoy stacking and nesting them but I also think these will be a wonderful tool to talk, share and learn about Jesus with Campbell!

I'll probably throw in some stickers and maybe a yummy treat or two as a gift from the Easter Bunny and call it good. Of course we all know the real reason behind Easter and the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can never be celebrated enough. I still think it's fun to have an egg hunt and a basket full of goodies on Easter though. What about you? How do you celebrate Easter? Do you have any traditions or special ways to acknowledge such a beautiful day? Share if so!

Prepping

Happy Monday everybody! Who is officially ready for spring? Me! I've been ready for months now. Normally I enjoy winter but our winter was kind of a dud here. We didn't get any snow and the weather never could make up its mind if it wanted to be warm or freezing. I'm looking forward to warm, predictable sunshine for the months to come!!
This little sweetie will be two on Saturday. I can't believe it! Scott and I spent our weekend trying to get prepared for Campbell's birthday party, also on Saturday. I'm looking forward to it! Campbell is going to have a puppy party themed birthday since he's so obsessed with dogs. The party is at our house and I've been looking at the weather forecast non stop to make sure the bright sunshine and warm temperatures are sticking because I'd really love for us to be able to enjoy the party outside. Fingers crossed for a beautiful day!
Other than doing a little bit of party planning this week, I don't have much else going on. Which is wonderful. I'm enjoying just relaxing since the last few weeks have felt crazy and busy. Bennett's room is really coming together and I think I'm going to reach my goal of having nothing to do to get prepped for his arrival by the first of May, maybe even a little sooner. I still want to do things like make us some freezer meals and a couple of other little nesting things around the house but other than that, we're almost good to go! I've been having a moment this week of realizing that time is ticking and he will be here before I know it. The weeks have already flown by and now that it's spring it's just all setting in that this is happening soon. I'll be 37 weeks the first weekend of May which makes me feel like I only have all of April before it becomes a waiting game. Crazy. I think I'm ready though. For the longest time I didn't feel ready, mentally, at all. That's slowly fading and I'm (almost) ready to tackle life with a newborn again.
Meanwhile, the peanut and I are going to enjoy the beautiful weather this week by spending a lot of time outdoors. We're looking forward to it, especially Campbell. He LOVES playing outside.

30 Weeks

How is it possible that I'm already here? This pregnancy is truly flying by and it's actually made me a little sad this week. I just feel like it's all happening so fast and before I know it, it's going to be over. Even though pregnancy can be really hard, especially with a toddler in tow, I truly love and enjoy being pregnant. I love my big belly and I love knowing that I'm growing a baby inside of me. Even though I've done this before, it's still just as amazing and miraculous to me this time as it was the first time. If Bennett decides to be like his big brother, he could grace us with his presence in just seven short weeks which is mind blowing to even think about!!! I said that to Scott just a few nights ago and he just looked at me silently with big eyes then quietly said "I haven't even considered that. I'm scared now." Ha! Here's what's going on with me at 30 weeks of pregnancy.
Size of Baby: 15.7 inches long and almost 3 pounds, about the size of a large cabbage.

How I'm Feeling: I feel really great! I've been blessed with a good week.

Cravings/Appetite: Please don't make me eat is how I feel most of the time. I am never, ever hungry and when I do eat (since that's what you're supposed to do) I feel miserable after. It makes my indigestion worse and I feel like I've stuffed myself with all of the food in the world even if I just eat a small portion. I would rather just snack here and there all day instead of eat 3 bigger meals.

Clothes: Maxi skirts and dresses is all I've worn this week and it's been so wonderfully comfortable. I've even slipped my feet into some flip flops a few times. I'm loving it.

Movement: Bennett's movements are so much stronger now. When he kicks me it makes my stomach bulge out. I can definitely tell he's head down since those kicks come in right under my ribs these days.
Changes in Me: Shaving my legs suddenly got hard. I feel like I have to be very delicate each time I toss and turn in bed. I like to keep up with my weight on my pregnancy app but I haven't weighed myself in 5 weeks so I had no clue what to expect. I stepped on the scale this morning and my weight gain count is at 9 pounds. I gained 19 pounds with Campbell so it looks like I'm about on the same track with Bennett as I was with Campbell.

Baby Purchases: I was in Little Rock over the weekend so I popped in The Toggery and added 2 sweet little bubbles to Bennett's wardrobe. I wanted to be strong and resist but I'm weak for nice, smocked, classic, keep forever, my grandbabies will probably wear these one day, items. I just can't help myself. It's what I love and it makes me happy!

Favorite Moment This Week: Seeing our sweet boy on 3D! He seemed so peaceful and content. I can't wait to snuggle him.

Looking Forward To: My doctors appointment next week. I'm officially in the bi-monthly stage of appointments which is so crazy! When we had our last checkup and I was scheduling my next appointment and they said I needed to be back in two weeks, I said "oh my gosh is it already time for that?!?" We won't do much other than measure my belly and check the heartbeat but I still enjoy them and like to check in on the little guy!

Ivy and Madison Turn Four!

Today is Ivy and Madison's 4th birthday!! Another wonderful year with our sweet girls that we love and adore.
These sisters are such a delight. Scott and I always get the biggest kick out of them. Madison and Ivy are such loving little girls. They're loyal to their family but most of all, loyal to one another. Watching their sweet sister bond over these last four years has been such a neat thing for me. I never knew that two dogs could love one another the way these two do. They are absolutely one anothers everything although they get in fights almost daily and it always leaves us shaking our heads. They are a mess and it's so fun to just watch them live their little lives.
They come when you call their name of course but they also come running when we call out "girls!!" They are our girls indeed and make our world so much brighter. We cannot imagine life without our girls and it's such a pleasure to love them.
Happy 4th Birthday to our twin girls! We love you to the moon and back but I don't think we even have to say that to you because you two know how special and important you are to us. Thank you for enriching our lives, giving us laughs, your sweet nighttime snuggles, and making everything about our world so much more entertaining. I can't imagine life without my Madison and little Ivy. XOXO.
