Jake & Jaclyn

I got to thinking about how amazing my two best friends are. I love them both so much. For those of you who don't know that would be Jaclyn and Jake. I always realize how much I love them but I got on FB and noticed that Jake had tagged a picture of the 3 of us and I loved it! It got me to thinking....
That's us heading to church for Jaclyns rehearsal! I just love the picture and I love even more the story behind it. Here it is, the biggest day of Jaclyns life. We're headed to the church for the rehearsal and where is she? With us. Where did she get ready for this big night? At my house. Just me, Jake, and Jaclyn. We're running around like crazy because we're running late. Jake's searching through my closet trying to find a black belt of Scott's because he forgot his. Jaclyns doing her make-up while I'm doing her hair. I'm cutting the tags off her beautiful new dress. Jake's cleaning out his always messy car so we can all fit. We're rushing to get there in the crazy traffic. It's just a normal JJ&K kinda thing. And we pause at a traffic light to take a pic! I love it! I'll always remember it. Even though we were rushed and it was stressful...I loved it. That was me with my best friends making a memory that I'll never forget.
So how did the three of us become inseparable you ask?
Let me start with this boy...
That's us a t-bell. Many of those stops did we make in college!! That's why the both of us gained, count it, 15 pounds our freshman year!!!! Yes that's right. Well, more like 12 for me but might as well be 15. That's our junior year after we got it off...thankfully. We were all...not toned...and whenever the 3 of us look at pictures from freshman year we groan. It's disgusting and miserable. We have a little more discipline these days however, I wouldn't trade all that weight gain/t-bell late nights for anything. Too many fun memories attached with those! We were young so it only took me about a month to get that off.
So back to Me & Jake. Jake lived in Pomfret across the hall from Jaclyn. They had a class together so that's how they got to know each other. The first night I met Jake was in Jaclyn's room at Pomfret. It's was the 80's function and I came to her room so we could all go together. Jake was there sitting on the futon ready to go to the function as well! After getting to know each other, our love of Friends sparked our friendship and whenever the DVD came out Jake and I were at Walmart together at 12 a.m. on a Tuesday to pick it up and we stayed up to watch the whole first disk together! The rest of our friendship is history. Actually though something I love about Jake is that he was actually at the Miss Teen Arkansas pageant the year I won! He saw one of the coolest things of my life happen. Glad he was there even though he didn't know me.
Now this girl....
I met Jaclyn on pref-night during rush. She was wearing a pink dixiebells t-shirt. We sat in the union and talked all night waiting on the houses to place their bids. When they were finally in and we could leave, I drove her home to pomfret. We both prefed Kappa and met each other on the Kappa lawn the next day to take pictures! The rest is history...
I cannot imagine life without these two. They rock my world. When I say we were inseparable in college I mean that literally. Not 1 day were we not together. Seriously. We all agree our favorite memories were created in Pomfret freshman year. I think it's just because we were getting to know each other so well and who doesn't think freshman year is the best?
We ate out every. single. night. Our hot spot? Olive Garden. Our meal of choice? Chicken Scampi. Probably ate that twice a week. Our other usuals, Tim's, Madam Wu's, Chili's, Bizy's, Outback, Flying Burrito, & every Sunday, Slims! When I say we ate out every single night I'm not kidding. Except for American Idol & Grey's nights when we cooked....together.
Also what we didn't do without each other?
Birthdays...
Tailgating...
or New Years..
And everything else in life.
My personal favorite year with these two? 2006!This pic was Row, April 2006. When I think of the best year ever I think 2006. We all turned 21 which...hello!! This was just a good year! We had so much fun together and made TONS of memories. We talk about this year a lot. Another obvious reason this was an amazing year....I met my husband!! They loved him immediately.... and not because I loved him immediately. They love Scott and I love that they love Scott.
They are always there for me. When I'm having a fun time, it's because they're there. If I'm creating a memory, they're in it. I love our times of being bored sitting on the couch doing nothing watching TV. Or cooking together. Or getting dressed for a night out together. When we've laughed so hard we didn't make noise or going out and making fools of ourselves.
I should probably be done with this. I could go on and on. These two have been in my life for 6 years now. They're the best. They were there the night I got engaged!
And stood beside me the night I got married!
We share secrets we probably shouldn't share. We nap together. We cook together. We embarrass each other. We love each other. We cry together. We make fun of each other. We make memories. We depend on one another. We're always there. We always pick up where we left off. We love to talk about the past and share plans of our future.
These two are my favorite! They bring so much joy to my life and I cannot imagine it without them. I love them with all of my heart and never want to experience life without them! Just thought you all should know that!

Holly's Confused

After I uploaded that video I watched it on my computer. Holly was sitting beside me and she got so confused about what was going on! Scott grabbed the camera to film it. So funny!! Take a look.

Holly's 13!

Holly's birthday is this week! As terrible as this sounds given how much I adore my puppy, I'm not quite sure the exact date. Mom thinks it's the 21 but I feel like it's the 26 so we just celebrate the whole week! My sweet precious pumpkin baby doodlebug is 13. We've been through a long journey together. She's such a sweet little girl. I love how when she's laying down relaxing and I try and talk to her, she just looks up as far as she can with her eyes instead of raise her head to look at me. I love how tight she snuggles with me at night. If there's a blanket, Holly's on it. I love that she still plays with her toys especially her ball. I love how she can tell me so well what she wants. She just looks at you with this certain look and when you say 'what do you want Holly' she takes you right to it. I love that Holly likes to drink water from the faucet. (That one of the places she takes you to when you ask her what she wants) I love how obsessed with treats Holly is. I love that Holly still gets excited when she potties. Every time she goes potty she comes running in the room with her tail wagging and thinks she needs a treat. (and she gets one!) I love that Holly is so demanding that you rub her. If you're sitting beside her, she'll scratch your hand which means 'rub me!!' Holly loves scrambled eggs. Those are her favorite. She's so smart. Has such a large vocabulary. She's so great at telling you what she wants. I know her so well. I know when somethings wrong. I know what she wants. I know what she needs. I love how obedient she is. She's very obedient. I love when you say 'gimme a kiss' she does...on your nose....every time. I love when you say the words ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, beggin strips, eggs, or treat Holly licks her lips. EVERYTIME. When she stands her back feet are always touching. She doesn't get the concept of the TV or the mirror. Totally ignores both of them. She gets so excited when she gets to open a present and she'll even open up your presents because she finds it so fun. She loves to go bye bye. Holly climbs on top of the pillows when she's sitting on the couch. She loves to sleep in my laundry basket. She hates baths. She knows clapping and singing will always buy her a treat. She's stolen the hearts of everyone in my family. Mom, Dad, Kyle, Scott, and Grammy...we all love her....and she loves us back just as much. She's my precious puppy and I'm so unbelievably blessed to have had her for 13 years. She's a spunky lil 13 year old and I hope she stays that way for more years to come! BoldHappy 13th Birthday to the best puppy I'll ever know!!! I love you Holly!!!!!

Planting Tulips

Today was great! I slept in really late because I was still exhausted from the wedding. I woke up at 10 and had absolutely nothing to do! Finally. Nothing to do. This moving houses has kept me busy. I'm pretty much decorated and all moved in so nothing to do there. No work today. No nothing. So I decided to be a gardener. Tulips are my absolute hands down favorite flower. Now is the time to plant the bulbs. So I bought....ready for it....100 bulbs. Ha! I'm having a landscaping guy come tomorrow to plant them in my front yard bushes because it's landscaped just perfectly for tulips to come up all over the place. I took a few tulips and bought big pots and planted the bulbs and set them on my back porch. Along with some Iris's and some other flower that I can't remember the name of. I have 5 pots of dirt with bulbs underneath on my back porch. I hope so badly it works since I spent a small fortune on it all today. So that's what I did with my day.
I also just got back from my storage unit just a second ago. For the first time ever I put some furniture on Craigs List and sold it within less than 24 hours. My email has been blowing up. I'm selling the rest tomorrow to another guy so yay! Got that clutter out and made some money!
I'm waiting on Scott to get home from work now so he can grill me some chicken. It's 7:30...where's my husband? Really. Like, really? I kinda don't like this but I'm trying to be a supportive wife. I haven't complained yet except for just now. He's gotta do what he's gotta do I guess. Hello overachiever!
Alright I'm going to snack because I'm starving and I have no idea when he's coming home. This is why I need to learn how to work a grill. I have no idea how to turn it on but I do now how to cook on it and how long to cook stuff and when to flip and the temp and all that. I just don't know how to turn the thing on!!!!! Gah!

Jaclyn & Brads Wedding

Last night my best friend got married! It was such a wonderful weekend. The ceremony was just amazing. The preacher did such a great job. The reception was a blast!! Everything was just perfect and beautiful and I'm so happy for Brad and Jaclyn! They leave tonight for Fiji for 10 days!!! Scott said 'that's going to be really hard on you to not talk to Jaclyn for 10 days isn't it?' Haha...and yes it will be! Jaclyn was the most beautiful I have ever seen her last night. And Brad was very handsome too. I'm not going to jibber jabber. I'm just going to post a bunch of pics

Errands with Holly

I had a busy day all day running errands. Holly came with me! I could tell after 3 hours of errands she was worn out! She got to go to lots of fun places though. We went to the cute little dog boutique but all we got was oatmeal shampoo (Holly has itchy skin the oatmeal helps!) we also went to PetSmart and Petco, Pier 1, Lighting Emporium, and She Said Yes! Holly likes sparkly dresses for some reason. She always just stares up and down, so she enjoyed She Said Yes. I had to go there to pick up my bridesmaid dress from getting altered. Jaclyn is getting married on Saturday! Oh My Goodness! I can't believe it!!! I'm so excited and just can't wait. It's going to be such an amazing day!
So I weighed today and I weighed what I did the day of my wedding! This means I've lost all the weight I wanted to lose! Yay for me! I was so excited this morning. I've worked very, very hard so I'm really happy. I still may want to lose another few lbs just for fun but if I don't I'll be content.
I'm looking forward to the weekend not just because of the wedding but I'm looking forward to seeing all of my friends! Jake and Ashley are staying with me which I'm excited about! Plus I get to see Jax and I never see her anymore so I'm happy about that too. Okay well, I need to get back to some Maid-of-Honor assignments. Have a good night!

Hogs vs. Auburn

This past weekend was a good one! My parents and Holly came up for the game and stayed at my new house! My dad had major beef that Scott and I live in Bentonville now. He kept calling it Wisconsin. He thinks it's EXTREMELY far away and thinks we should move back to Fayetteville. 'This is about me' he said! Haha. Other than that my parents really love the house. It's much less cramped now! Always a good thing. Since my parents are going to Napa this week, I'm taking care of Holly!! Holly's been such a sweetie. She's always a sweetie but she seems like even more of a sweetie this week. I always treasure my time with Holly because even though I hate to think this way, I know that she's not going to be around a whole lot longer. Holly turns 13 next week! She's going to be a teenager!!! My little girl is growin up! Tomorrow we're going to go bye bye to this cute little high-end dog boutique in Fayetteville. I'm gonna let her get something!
How bout them Hogs?! What an exciting game! I had a lot of fun at the game even though it was extremely cold even in the indoor club seats. Hello winter! Loves it! Here's me and mom at the game.

That's kinda all I have for ya. I'm just not really in the mood to type anymore. I think it's time for my bath. Later!

Boom

I've had a crazy hectic week! This moving thing just never ends. All day long today and yesterday I've been hopping around to BB&B, Target, Walmart, Pier 1, etc to look for stuff for my house. I bought 6 different shower curtains at Target today to try out for my spare bathroom because I'm tired of buying just one and hating it and having to take it back. I'm gonna just wipe it out all at once. Problem with the shower curtains is I like all 6 that I've tried out so I put it on pause so Scott can help me decide when he gets home from work. If he comes home from work that is. It's 5:40 and he just sent me a text 'running a little late.' Umm...he hasn't been home before 7:30 this week. What's that like? I'm not ambitious enough to do that. I pretty much leave work early every day....never stay late!
Alright well, I'm going to try to get back to decorating. Hope you all enjoy your shows tonight! Tonight's the good night.

8th Grade Science Teacher

I had a blast from the past today. I went into a furniture store and this man walked up to me to see if I needed help. Then he said "Kara?" and I said "Mr. Smith!!" and he said "close, Moore." Haha. Oops. It was my old 8th grade science teacher. Apparently he's moved from El Do to Bentonville. It was quite awkward chatting with him I'm not gonna lie. Probably because he's one of the more awkward people I've ever met in my life. Sydney and Heather (blogger friends) both had that class with me. You girls remember him from the ol' Barton days?? He was really obsessed with my hair and would always make comments about it in front of the class....like all the time. Hello. I'm 14, you're like 40, don't do that. Me and Syd sat together in that class and we were talking (always) and he literally drew a tiny circle on the chalk board and told Sydney to stick her nose in it for the rest of the class. Umm...excuse me? Haha. I'll never forget that!! LOL!!!
Anyways, I saw him today and it brought back memories. I'm not gonna lie I did have fun in that class. because other than the nose in the chalk board incident he was a pretty chill teacher which is always nice. He may be awkward but he's a nice guy.
So yeah, that was my interesting event of the day. That and I talked to Jake on the phone for a while and that was nice because we haven't chatted in probably over a week. His class came in as he was talking to me and he said he was just going to pretend like he was on a business call. Dork.
Okay. I need to focus on DWTS now. Catch up with you tomorrow!

Oh and just to inform you what I laughed about today because it was really funny: Me, Scott, Jaclyn, and Brad were sitting in church today singing. And bless her heart this old lady behind us couldn't carry a tune and she loved to sing really loudly! It was miz!!! Jaclyn and I couldn't help but laugh and all I could think about was that line from 'That's What I Love About Sundays' "sweet Mrs. Betty likes to sing off key in the pew behind me." Which made it even funnier to me. So there you go. That's what made me laugh today! :)

All Moved In

Wew! I'm all settled into my new house and I love it!!! Well, all settled in may be a stretch. I haven't decorated at all! Usually I am on top of things like that but I'm hoping for a new sofa and have decided to stall all decorating until my new sofa arrives at my new house. My husband is delaying my sofa purchase (no surprise) so no decorating until the new sofa is sitting on my hardwood floors. I can't blame it all on the sofa I guess. I'm S-T-U-C-K as to how to decorate. Usually I'm pretty good at decorating but not this house. I really want Scott's friend, Amy, who works at Lighting Emporium to come over and help. I think she will. I might hunt her down at LE tomorrow. I want this place to look like Nate Berkus lives here.
In the meantime, I've been spending my week being sick. I've gone through 2 packages of Dayquil and 1 pack of Nyquil. I think by tomorrow I'll finally feel normal. I woke Scott up one night with my cough attack and one day my eye starting pouring out liquid. So random. I've never had that happen before. You know what though...there's visine for that! (get it? that's what they say in the commercial) Anyways, I'm ready to feel better because as of Wednesday, it'll be 2 whole weeks since I've set foot in the gym and I am itchin to get back. There's just no way I could run my 4 miles in my condition. (Yes I really run 4 miles a day...straight...jealous?) My legs aren't as rock solid as they usually are. So back to the gym I go tomorrow. No matter how I feel.
Okay well, I guess I should try and head to bed. Even though I'm not even a little bit sleepy because I took a 3 hour nap today!!! It's 11:20 though so I should try. Night!
