Viva Lost Wages--Day 3

Scott and I had the day to ourselves yesterday because Jodie went on an all day excursion. We woke up super late because first we woke up really early. Both of our phones started ringing at 6:00 am. My cleaning ladies came to my house yesterday and I forgot to turn off the alarm for them! So they set it off, the alarm company called us, the police were dispatched. It was a disaster and I felt horrible!!!!
After that debacle, Scott and I took a little nap then woke up and decided to lunch at the Wynn.
We ate outside on a terrace and it was just plain lovely. After lunch we browsed around the shops where I found a bag that I'm not sure I can leave Vegas without and hopefully I won't as long as my husband gives me permission.
We retreated to our rooms early to get ready for The Jersey Boys. The show was at 7 which kind of cut into dinner so we just ate popcorn in the theater. I love The Jersey Boys. This was my second time to see it and I think I liked it even better than the first time. It's such a great show and I love watching the folks in the audience who were born in the 40's. They really love the show.
After The Jersey Boys we went to New York New York. I haven't been to that hotel since I visited Vegas my very first time, at age 12. Haha! Love Vegas.
Jodie has this list of 50 things she has to do in Vegas that her friends made her and riding the roller coaster in NY/NY is one of them. I'm not a roller coaster kind of girl but I took one for the team. It wasn't horrible at all. I just kept my eyes shut the whole time and it was over before I knew it. After that I was starving and thought I deserved a prize for being so brave so we went to Nathan's Hot Dog and I got a slice of pizza. I don't know if it was the relief from surviving the roller coaster or the fact that I had 2 large cups glasses of wine while watching the show but that was like, the best piece of pizza ever.
Jodie was also supposed to line dance at a night club so we went to Gilly's in our hotel to check that off. I had such a great time at Gilly's. It's a country night club and everyone from Oklahoma and Arkansas was there. They had a cover band who was awesome and you looked out of place if you weren't sporting a cowboy hat!! Ha! It was a good time. After that we were exhausted so we called it a night.

I'm looking forward to today. My Mother-In-Law is officially 50 years old today so we've got a lot of cool things in store. Until tomorrow....

Vegas Day Two

Yesterday was another fun day in Vegas! I decided to workout while I'm here so right when I woke up in the morning I hit the gym. It makes me feel good about myself even though I'm probably consuming 5000 calories a day this week.
After a short trip to the Fashion Show Mall for a little Godiva stop, we headed to In-N-Out Burger.
It's another Vegas tradition. I got my fries Animal Style and they were extra yummy to me this time. After our healthy meal we took a cab to the mall and did a little shopping. I found some awesome goodies at J Crew, also known as my favorite store ever. We spent most of our day shopping so we decided to have a casual dinner at Maggianos. Normally I would change for dinner but I loved my new crazy cat lady dress that I'd worn all day so I decided to leave it on.
After dinner we did a little gambling and casino hopping. I'd love to tell you I won my $100 back but I didn't. My $100 wanted his brother Benjamin to join him in the blackjack lost wages pile so he obliged. Neat. I wish they'd be a little friendlier to me but since they never are I'm over it. Over. It.

I guess my blog giveaway is a no go since about 90%  of you who read it every day decided not to "Follow" it. It's a shame. I was looking forward to giving someone a fun gift. Oh well. Thanks to those of you who partipated!

Viva Las Vegas (Day One)

We arrived in Vegas around 1:00 yesterday and I couldn't wait to get the party started! Once we checked in to the hotel we hit the strip. Our first stop was one of my Vegas must visits--Rhumbar in the Mirage. They have all kinds of frozen yummyness and I went with my classic, Strawberry Pineapple.
After 2 sips of my frozen friend and an immediate strong buzz, we strolled on over to the Forum Shops to admire the fabulous fashion Vegas has to offer. I also popped into the Apple store to figure out what's wrong with my phone. It says I have zero usage available even though I'm using hardly any space. After a meeting with the Apple Genius, I discovered I do, indeed, have a phone problem. All I have to do is restore it but that stresses me out. My contacts will be saved but my photos will disappear. The photos on my phone are my treasure. Even if they're saved on my computer I don't like the idea of them disappearing from my phone. So I have that little tid bit to think about for the next week. I know, serious problems.
Once we finished shopping I went to the Ceasars fountain and made a wish. It's not working so far as I'm negative $100 thanks to Top Dollar and Blackjack.
After strolling around the Vegas strip for a bit, we were all pretty worn out from the traveling so we retreated to our rooms and took a nap before dinner. We decided on Tao and as usual, it was delish!
After dinner my mother-in-law, Jodie, wanted to take a gondola ride through the Venecian so we partook in that little excursion. As many times as I've been to Vegas I've never done that and have secretly always wanted to. It's cool and all but you definitely are not missing out on anything if you never do it.
After our ride we strolled into the Palazzo (one of my favorite gambling spots) to play Blackjack. At first I was just going to watch Scott but that's like sitting a bowl of chocolate covered strawberries in front of me and telling me to admire only. Obviously I had to get into the game. I started out with $15 and ended up with $150 at one point. I lost it all, duh. I always do. But I was pretty impressed with myself for a little bit. I told Scott that when I get up by $100 to take it away from me. He always tries to and I never let him but I mean it this time. Someone needs to stop me. I have no control.
We're having a great time so far! How can you not in Vegas?

PS: don't forget to follow my blog! All you have to do is hit the little "Follow" button to the right over there. If I can get 100 by Friday I'm going to give away a cool gift. I saw some super cute stuff in Kate Spade and Tory Burch today so get to followin!!! I'd love to give someone a free pressie!!!

One Step Closer

I am currently in the car headed to Little Rock and early tomorrow morning I'll be on a plane thats Vegas bound!! Woot Woot!
Today was one of those days where I hit the ground running. After the gym and a long shower I went to get a spray tan. Ugh. Getting a spray tan falls into the same dislike category as cucumbers, slow drivers and the way Obama pronounces Pakistan. I feel sticky, smelly and don't like that I can't wear makeup for the whole day....or so they say. However, I'm pasty white and didn't feel like tan toweling and you know how I like to look like I've been laying on the beach year round. So spray tan was my only option. I can't help but think about Ross and laugh when I get in one of those booths. I'm an eight!!!!!!
I for sure packed way too much. Luckily for me I'm flying Southwest and they let you bring two bags--For Free! So I'm not too worried about my overpacking. I just like to have plenty of options. Although I'm pretty sure I brought tops with no bottoms to match and vice versa.
What am I most looking forward to about Vegas? Hmm, I don't know. Just being there gives me the warm fuzzies. I love that city. Scott and I have planned out most of our meals but we still have a couple of nights where we don't know what we're going to eat. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm always up for trying something new!!

Holiday Wrap Up

I'm back home recovering from my Thanksgiving weekend. There's no doubt I gained a solid 4 pounds over the last 3 days. I'm like some kind of food hoarder during the holidays.
I had a great week! It was very laid back. Thursday consisted of a late lunch, lounging while watching Christmas movies, then tasty wine at my uncles house for dinner. It's the first time in I can't remember that I didn't take a nap or go to the movies on Thanksgiving.
The next day I did a tiny bit of Black Friday shopping, watched the Razorback football game (ugh) and helped my Mom decorate her house for Christmas. I always talk about how amazing her house is during Christmas and this tree is just a tiny example.
Since we won't get to see Landon for Christmas we had an early Christmas with him. I was super excited about the presents I got him because I thought I'd be introducing him to something new--Nerf Guns. Wrong. Apparently he has 8 at home. I also thought he'd be way excited about the Harry Potter wand I got him but it turns out Madison, Ivy and Grace will enjoy playing with it more as they already have and Landon didn't even notice. My presents felt like a major fail. I should have gone with Legos. Those are always a win but that's what I always get him so I was trying to be different. Oh well.
One toy that was a win was Hot Potato from my parents! I've gotta say it's a pretty fun game for everyone to play. You know how kids always want you to play with them but you never want to because it's boring never seem to have time? Well, Hot Potato is a great game for the whole family to take time out of their busy schedules to enjoy! It's just a little potato that you throw from one person to the next and whoever has it when the music stops is out. I don't know where Mom got it but I'm assuming Target. Fun game! Good Christmas present!
Overall my holiday was wonderful! Scott and I got back home around 7:00 tonight. We left Ivy and Madison at my parents house because we're going to be back in Little Rock on Monday and leaving them there seemed much easier. We're flying out of LR early Tuesday morning. The next few days will be spent running errands and getting ready for Vegas. I'm getting excited!!

Thanksgiving 2012

My Thanksgiving was spent with my family this year. Scott and I always take turns. We arrived in Little Rock around 5:00 yesterday and I was so excited to be home. My little guy is here and I love being able to spend holidays with him. Plus, my Mom and Grammy are crazy good cooks which makes  spending this (food) holiday with my family perfection!! We began the day with the Macy's Parade (my favorite) and for the first time in 27 years I caught onto the fact that everyone is lip-syncing. I was honestly a bit surprised and it stole a little bit of the Thanksgiving Parade joy from me.
Our meal today was delicious, as always, and I stuffed myself silly. We ate at 2:00 and I wore jeans because that's what you're supposed to do to help you not eat as much but it doesn't make a difference because everyone packs sweatpants for Thanksgiving traveling. My favorite holiday was pretty laid back, spent with the ones I love and entailed entirely too many carbs.
I'm thankful for so many things in my life. I don't think I could even begin to name all of my blessings!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I hope your holiday was wonderful!!

Dear Readers

Kara's Stories is getting a little revamp! I've been blogging for 4 years now and it's time for a little change. I've always had my comments turned off but I decided to allow them because I want to spice this blog up a little bit. So now that I've allowed comments it'd be neat if people actually left me some. I'm sure nobody will.
I also decided to add the "Followers" widget to my sidebar. Do me a favor and follow this little blog of mine please! All you have to do is sign in with your email and hit follow. It's quite simple. Since you'll be doing me this awesome favor I'm going to show you some blog love in return.
As you know, I'm going to be in Vegas next week. If I can get 100 followers by next Friday I'm going to buy a super fun gift to giveaway. I don't know what yet but it will definitely be a cool designer goodie. I'll use an online randomizer to pick a winner. If I can get 250 followers I'll pick two winners. Sounds like a pretty awesome way to get a free present huh? You don't have to leave a comment or share the giveaway on Facebook and Twitter (unless you want to of course) or anything like that. Just follow my blog and you'll be entered to win!! I promise to make the gift worth it.

Jeepers Creepers

Today was just another manic Monday. Or not really as I'm unemployed and have nothing to do. I'm not in the mood to decorate my house for Christmas yet so I just, you know, hung out.
I was informed from IO Metro today that my new piece wouldn't be in until the end of January. Here we go again. First it was the beginning of December then it was the end of December and now it's the end of January? So annoying.
Remember a couple of days ago when I said I was taking my bedroom curtains to get blackout backing on them? Yeah well that didn't happen. When I called to get a price for doing that they told me it would be $45 a pannel. I have 4 pannels and the opportunity to have a black room in the morning in exchange for $45 a pannel was a no brainer. Then they called me on Friday to inform me they forgot to add in the cost of supplies and it would actually be $100 a pannel. What? I can't spend $400 on curtain backing. SO, the sun is still beaming in bright and shiny every single morning. I told Scott that maybe I should just go buy a sewing machine and take care of it myself. After all, I did take home economics in the 8th grade. He objected majorly and said I would ruin them. Can't be worse than the ruined sleep I get every morning but whatever. I've got to come up with a backup plan now.
I'm starting to think the alterations business is where it's at. Remember when they charged me $200 to hem the front 6 inches of my wedding gown and that's it? I do.
Speaking of mornings and ruined sleep, Scott felt the need to tell me goodbye when he left for work today. Can't remember that happening since the first 4 months of marriage but whatever. I prefer he just leave me be and after what happened today he probably will from now on. I guess I heard his footsteps because as I was coming out of my deep sleep to the man (dressed in all black by the way) slowly walking towards me I freaked out and it took me a solid 7 seconds before I realized the creepy man coming to get me was my husband. I think is funny that my protective instincts kicked in and I hid under my covers. Like that would save me.
It's interesting that it took my brain so long to get onboard with what my eyes were seeing. The only other time that's happened to me was in college. My friend, Jake, stayed with me all the time therefore he had a key to my place. I was in my bedroom and I guess I just didn't hear him come in the house. He knew I didn't hear him and thought it would be funny to scare me. He rounded the corner and yelled "RAWR!!!!" at me and not only did I scream the biggest girly scream ever it made me fall backwards onto the floor.
My nutritional intake for the day has been one for the books. I went to the drive through at Panera for breakfast and had an asiago cheese bagel + cream cheese and orange juice. I had a handful of chips for lunch and 2 (yes 2) Schwans man breaded chicken breasts for dinner no sides necessary. I'm just now realizing I didn't have a Diet Coke today and that makes me feel proud regardless of the other junk I consumed today.
I need to devote my attention to DWTS now.

Flashback

Last night on Dickson was a lot of fun! After dinner at Farrell's we hopped across the street to Willy D's. Those who know me well know how much this thrilled me. I LOVE a piano bar. I miss the cool girl who used to play there when I was in college though. She was so good and I loved it when she would bust out a little 'Hollaback Girl' in the middle of 'Jack and Diane.' Good memories.

Today we had a bunch of folks over at our house to watch the game. Then the Ole Miss vs LSU game was so entertaining so most everyone stayed for that one too. I had so much pizza and queso at lunch that I couldn't even think about putting a small crumb in my mouth for dinner. I guess I'm getting my stomach prepped for Thanksgiving. I should probably spin for about 2 hours tomorrow.
Until then....

Updates

People have been posting daily thankful's all month on Facebook. I guess it's because Thanksgiving is around the corner but I also think it's because some people really love to post on Facebook every day and it gives them a reason to update. Don't get me wrong, it's wonderful to show gratitude for things but this months Facebook updates are getting just as old as a photo of your car thermometer showing it's 102 degrees in July. This will soon pass but then we'll have January to look forward to when everyone's favorite status "It's Snowing!!" will flood our feed followed by April's popular catch phrase "This Weather Is Amazing!!" Luckily the election is over. There were all kinds of crazy updates during that time period. (Sorry about that)
Facebook is getting old. I'm tired of all the changes. I posted a photo the other day and the process stressed me out. I hit the little photo upload button then suddenly all of the photos on my camera roll came up with little checks next to them. I sat for a super long time wondering what to do and became terrified that every single photo would upload. Number 1, people would judge me for posting that many photos at once and Number 2, some photos are not meant to be shared. I was definitely over thinking it because all you have to do is tap the photo you want to upload then the little check turns green and it's actually pretty simple and only a stupid person couldn't figure it out but still, enough with the changes.
Last night I took the girls toy basket and dumped all of Ivy and Madison's toys onto the floor and it was like, the most fun night ever. If you think this is a lot of toys you should see what's in the bonus room upstairs. And yes there is a 2 liter diet coke bottle and a pair of house shoes that those two have claimed as their own. Sometimes it's easier to just go with it.

I wrote an email to J Crew today begging them to open a store in Rogers. They actually responded to me and said thank you for reaching out and they will pass my request along so we'll see what happens with that. I would be utterly delighted but Scott would probably prefer them to stay far, far away from here.

I need to get dressed. I'm going to Dickson Street tonight to celebrate a friends birthday. The last time I can recall being on Dickson was about a year and a half ago. I guess I'm just growin up. Enjoy your weekend!

Curtains, Vegas & Cute Pups

I think I wake up earlier and earlier every single day. It's super annoying. I blame the extreme brightness in my room. I'm planning on fixing that this month. I'm taking my curtains to a seamstress on Friday to get a blackout backing on them. I'm very excited about this. I've woken up mad at the sun every morning since I moved into my house in April. I have a list of things that I want to do to our house before the year is up and backing my curtains is one of them. Another thing is decorating my office but I can't find a set of chairs I like to save my life. I also want to get my living room completely decorated by the end of the year and I'm almost there. All I need once my new piece comes in is something to go above and things to place on it and curtains. Scott doesn't like curtains anywhere but a bedroom. He likes a "clean look." I love curtains. I think they make the home look so cozy. I've already found some that I think will look really good. I may purchase them tomorrow. If I do that though I definitely need to have the people at the store hang them for me. I don't think Scott hates anything more in life than hanging a curtain rod. He gets in such a bad mood while he's doing it and we always get in a fight. It's not pleasant and best to avoid when possible.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned on here that I'm going to Vegas the week after Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law is turning 50 so she, Scott and myself are taking off to Vegas for a week to celebrate. I'm really excited about going. You know how much I love Vegas. We're staying at TI and Scott and I have already planned all of our food out. You know how important that is to us! Scott told me I can't gamble this time since I lost all of my Christmas money, and then some, last year. I think he still loses sleep over that. I still remember the look on his face when I stuck that last $100 bill in the slots at the airport in an effort to win it all back when instead it disappeared within 25 seconds. Scary.
Not that it even needs to be said anymore but I had lunch with Jaclyn at McAlisters today. We still aren't tired of eating McAlisters every Wednesday after all these years.
Is it me or are these two getting cuter? They're wearing matching sweaters again today, duh. Right now they're currently staring out of the office window. I pushed a chair up against it and Madison and Ivy spend the majority of their day looking outside anxious for something to give them a reason to bark. A car driving by tends to do the trick. Luckily that doesn't happen very often. I had to pick something up at the vet today and mentioned that I was anxious for them to turn a year old so we can be done with the puppy stage. They told me dogs have "puppy brain" for 18 months. What?
I think I just talked my husband into dinner out at Basil's tonight. Yes!!

Booked.

I mentioned last week that Scott and I were planning to vacation in Jamaica for our 4th anniversary and today we officially booked the trip!
We are staying at Secrets St. James and are super pumped about it! If anyone has read this blog long you know how much Scott and I love the Secrets resorts. This will be our third resort to visit and we're pretty positive, given the good track record that we've had, that we will not be disappointed. We're staying for an entire week and I'm already anxious for these next few months to fly by.
I have an addiction to buying Ivy and Madison sweaters---especially ones that match. I just cannot help myself because they look so adorable. Madison LOVES wearing a sweater. When she see's me go to the sweater drawer (yes they have an entire drawer) she runs over to me, puts her paws up on my legs then sticks her neck out for me to put it on while her little nubbin is going as fast as it can. It's so funny and so un-Madison. Ivy doesn't mind them but she doesn't freak out and get excited about it like Madison does. I think Madison is more cold natured, like Holly, because she loves to lay on a heating pad too.

I saw this a while back and I always try to keep it in mind while I'm spinning. It helps pump me up!

The Day Christina Became a Mrs.

Last night my sweet friend, Christina, got married! We kicked off the festivities on Thursday night and for the rest of the weekend I got to spend the entire day with all of my girls! We had a bridesmaid luncheon at Bordinos on Friday then later that night we had the rehearsal dinner.
The next morning came the big day!! Jaclyn picked me up and we met the girls at Studio 8 and Glo in Fayetteville to get our hair and makeup done. It was super convenient that both of those places were right next door to each other. Between the bride and her 11 bridesmaids we were there for about 4 hours. Kelly Cooper did my hair and I loved it! She's so talented.
After everyone got their hair and makeup done we all took off for The Chancellor hotel to get our dresses on and take pictures. Pictures were done in a super timely fashion which gave all of  us bridesmaids a lot of downtime. So we took advantage and went to the hotel bar for light appetizers (alright we shared a pizza.....okay 2) and champagne!
After that it was time to get those kiddos married! Christina and Jonathan had a beautiful and perfect ceremony! Then after the I Do's, and the original Batmobile serving as the getaway car, it was party time!!
When I walked into the reception I gasped. The decor was incredible!! Once that wedding hits pinterest those photos will get repinned over and over!!! The band was awesome, the food was delicious, seriously the wedding was perfect!! Not to mention Christina looked gorgeous!!!! She got her dress at Kleinfeld's in New York. So cool right?!
I may or may not have had 3 slivers of cake. I just wanted to try them all!!!

I feel so honored to be a part of Christina and Jonathan's big day! Christina is such an amazing, kind and loyal friend. She looked so beautiful last night and her wedding was flawless! Congratulations Stina! I love you friend!!!

Tiny Makeover

Yesterdays post was a little too serious so I'll do what I can to make this one a little lighter. Ha!
In case you didn't notice I gave the blog a little makeover. If you want me to do the same to yours feel free to contact me! Obviously, I have plenty of time to do that again now.
I'm going to have a busy (and fun) weekend. My friend, Christina, is getting married on Saturday and tonight kicks off festivities for her big day! I've Tan Toweled all week and I'm tired of being smelly. I also painted my nails today while my two dogs watched in amazement and cried. I honestly think they wanted their nails painted too. I know it's shocking to hear me say this given how much I love to dress my pups up but I think nail polish on dogs is extra stupid.
Scott and I are in the process of getting a trip booked for our anniversary! We're going to Jamaica and I'm way excited. Seven days and six nights of ocean, sun and miami vices. Definitely looking forward to it.
This is kind of random but Scott went to work at Sara Lee yesterday. They called last week and asked him if he could come in and do some consulting for them. He's going to be popping in there quite a bit for the next couple of months. It's weird to go back to talking modulars, bulk deli and category management. Crown molding, wood floors and granite talk is definitely more up my alley.
I met my Mom in Ozark yesterday so she could get Grace back. Grace is such a sweet, good girl. She's very calm, like Holly. I miss those days. My house is utter chaos now. I swear Ivy and Madison got more hyper after they got fixed. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Madison barks more than any dog in the history of the world ever does or did. She is learning that when I yell ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! at her to shut the crap up though. Geez. Sometimes I wonder what in the world I've gotten myself into. Luckily they both fall asleep around 8 every night so Mom and Dad get to have our quiet time. They're both currently napping right now. It's nice.
Okay I've got errands to run and a gym to hit.

What The Heck Happened?

To say that the outcome of last nights election disappointed me would be an understatement. It's the only thing I've thought about all day. I truly believed in my heart Romney would take Ohio and win the nomination. I didn't think it would be a landslide but I trusted the American people would see the downward spiral Barack Obama is taking us on and that four more years of his leadership would destroy America as we know it.
The problem is that the majority of people truly don't. have. a. clue. People know social issues and that's it. This frustrates me no matter what party you affiliate yourself with. I'd be willing to bet that over half of the people that voted yesterday couldn't tell me anything about ObamaCare, the deficit, Iran, or our economy. If you brought up Benghazi or the Keystone Pipeline I'm pretty positive many Americans would be clueless. That's neat that you can tell me your opinion on women's rights, gay rights and stem cell research. What else can you tell me?
In all honesty......I'm terrified for our nation. Four more years of Obama officially means we cannot undo what he will put into place. Who knows what that will be now that Obama doesn't have a re-election to worry about. We will now see a fundamental transformation of America. This should scare you.
If you haven't watched 2016: Obama's America then I beg you to please do so. I think it's imperative to be informed and understand what our president wants for our country.

"The heart of the wise inclines to the right but the heart of the fool to the left." -Ecclesiastes 10:2

Can't argue with that.

I Voted

I woke up bright and early anxious for what today will bring!! Scott and I decided to go to the gym together this morning then after that we headed home and got ready for this big day in America.
After getting in my morning news, I headed to my polling station to vote!! I stood in line for about an hour and 15 minutes. The guy behind me was really nice and I talked to him the whole time so it made the wait go by pretty quickly. I didn't care about the wait though. If it took 6 hours I'd gladly stand in line.
Now I'm home sitting on pins and needles. I've never prayed about an election like I have this one. I think this is one of the most important elections this country has ever seen and I believe that it's crucial that Mitt Romney wins. Having it be such a tight race is both exciting and nerve racking!!! Not that it even has to be said but I will be glued to my television for the rest of the evening.

Here I am after casting my ballot, proudly wearing my I Voted sticker. #TeamRomney

Spinning

I'll be totally honest. I haven't visited my gym in forever!!! Maybe June. I've still been running around my neighborhood and I love running. However, on Saturday Scott talked me into revisiting the gym with him. I was hesitant and told him I was just going to run around the neighborhood but after he pressured and guilted me into it I went with him. Then once I got there I wondered why I ever left. We got on the spin bikes and did it together and I forgot how much I'm obsessed with spinning. I have a lot of my own spinning playlists on my phone that I've shared with Scott so we played the same list, I took the lead and it was so fun. I'd be the most awesome spin coach ever. Really though. Scott had to quit after 30 minutes. (Sorry for calling you out babe!)
Spinning is my favorite workout and now that I have a bigger house, I really want a bike of my own. Christmas present maybe?
After what little I ate and how hard I worked out, I should lose 3 pounds today but I probably gained 1. My body loves to do that to me. I always try to lose in November to make up for what I do during Thanksgiving + the leftovers for the rest of the weekend. It's embarrassing how much food I consume. It's my most favorite meal ever though. I cannot help myself.
It's 10:00 but thanks to daylight savings it feels like 11:00. I'm wiped. Night!!

One Step Closer

I love decorating! It's one of my favorite things to do. I'm so happy with the way my house is coming together. I don't love how slow it's been taking me though. I knew it would be a process and that's fine. What's frustrated me the most is that I've had such a hard time finding something that I actually liked!!! I have an empty spot on my wall in my living room and it's been driving me crazy! I've searched everywhere for a piece to go there and have always come up empty handed--Until this week! Scott and I were furniture shopping on Sunday and he's actually the one who spotted this first. We both love it and I think it's going to look awesome in that space.
It's from IO Metro....of course. We've gotten almost all of our new stuff from there! I thought it would work great because we don't have any wood in our living room and I wanted a little bit of an earthy element in the space since everything is grey and white. And if you notice, it's got a little bit of white paint outlined on the piece so it's basically perfect! Unfortunately we have to wait until the end of December to get it in. Boo!
My mission in life today was to get my entry hall complete. I've been starring at a bare piece of furniture for months now and it has been driving me crazy!!!! I struggled with this piece because there isn't an electrical outlet on that wall so a lamp would be very impractical. Long story short and many months of looking later, everything finally came together today. I'm really pleased with the way it looks, Jute rug and all!
Now onto the next project.....office!!
