Holiday Wrap Up

We're back home from spending the holidays in Little Rock! We got back yesterday afternoon and the second I got home I took down my Christmas decorations. I love putting them up but enjoy getting my house put back to normal.
Our Christmas was great! I love when my little buddy is in town. I got the sweetest picture of him and Madison one evening.
Madison and Landon are the exact same person. They're both rowdy and somewhat loud. Both have big personalities and are full of life. They never stop talking and have a level of energy that never seems to run out. But most of all they're just as sweet as can be with the biggest hearts. These two are like peas and carrots! Both of my girls love playing with Landon and Landon loves Madison, Ivy and Grace. I love to watch them all interact together. It's so sweet to me!
My Mom's birthday was Saturday and I'm glad I was able to spend her special day with her. We ran around Little Rock all day then had a nice meal together as a family for dinner. I had on extra tall heels in this picture which is why I look like I'm towering over her. Ha!
I love going to my parents house but it's always good to get back home and into my normal daily routine. Scott and I are having some friends over for New Years Eve tomorrow and it's sure to be a good time. I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of 2013!

25 Weeks

Size of Baby: 1.5 pounds and 13 1/2 inches long, about the weight of a cauliflower.

How I'm Feeling: Still feeling great and the round ligament pains haven't been as bad this week so that's good. They're still happening but not as often and it mostly occurs if I'm standing for long periods of time or being really active. I always just stop what I'm doing immediately and go sit down and it takes care of the pain almost instantly.

Cravings/Appetite: Pass the salads! I can't get enough of them lately. I like the cold, I like the crunch....they are extra yummy to me right now. I'm still so into sweets. Thank goodness NWA doesn't have a Baskin Robbins because I've been visiting that place a lot since I've been in Little Rock.

Clothes: The majority of my clothes still fit with maternity jeans thrown into the mix. I don't think I have much longer of being able to pick and choose whatever I want to wear that's hanging in my closet though. Some tops that used to be really loose on me are looking a little snug!

Movement: I was taking a nap on Christmas day and my little guy woke me up because he was moving around so much. That's the first time his movement has woken me up from sleep. He also thinks it's comfortable to stick his leg/foot/arm in the right side of my ribs. It doesn't hurt but it's definitely not comfortable especially when I'm sitting down. Sometimes he kicks me so hard it makes my whole body jolt forward. He's getting stronger and stronger and his presence is pretty hard to miss these days!

Changes in Me: My energy is starting to slow down. I'm definitely not as tired as I was during my first trimester (that level of fatigue would be pretty hard to beat) but I don't have as much pep in my step as I have in the previous weeks. I always want to take a nap but I'm worried if I do, I won't be able to fall asleep at night so I try really hard not to. I also get winded really easily these days which makes me feel so out of shape.
Baby Purchases: I've discovered I have an obsession with burp cloths which doesn't really surprise me since I'm obsessed with kitchen towels and they're kind of similar. I bought a couple yesterday at The Toggery even though they were a touch overpriced but I just had to have them. I've registered for some at Bella Jacks in Fayetteville and I can't stop thinking about how cool they are. I don't know what my deal is with burp cloths but I love them!

Favorite Moment This Week: Landon is really sweet with the baby. He likes to lay next to me on the sofa with his hand on my belly so he can feel Campbell move. He'll constantly say "I felt him! I felt him!" even though Campbell's never moving when he "feels" him. Landon educated me on how babies grow in bellies which was interesting. Apparently they start out as just bodies first then they get arms and legs and then the head grows last. Landon also keeps saying "you don't look fat at all" which is a really sweet compliment coming from him since he would totally tell me if he thought I did.

Looking Forward To: Thursday. Because when Thursday rolls around my baby count down will officially say I have 99 days left until my due date. And that is just crazy to me!

Christmas 2013

Scott and I drove down to Little Rock late last night and made it to my parents house around 12:30 am. Waking up to the delicious breakfast that my Mom cooked made the long drive late at night all worth it.
After breakfast and nap number 1, we all went to my brothers house to see what Santa brought Landon. Once he showed us all of his new toys, we came back home and I indulged in nap number 2. I was extra tired for some reason.
We didn't eat lunch so we had plenty of room for our Christmas dinner. I snacked all day on sweet treats my Mom made and was vibrating from a sugar high by mid-afternoon. Dinner rolled around and everything on my plate got devoured. Christmas dinner was extra, extra delicious this year. Everyone at the table laughed at me when I declared that.....but it was!!! Once we finished dinner it was finally time to open our Christmas presents!
Scott and I ended up getting Landon some Pok√©mon cards and a big box ("from the bottom shelf") of Ninjago Legos. I didn't get any good pictures of the girls but they had a lot of presents and they thoroughly enjoyed tearing into them. Madison, especially, loved opening her Christmas presents and she's just as good at it as Holly was. It makes my heart happy.
Another good Christmas is in the books! It was a simple day with just the seven of us but I loved it. Being with my family on Christmas is the best Christmas present I could have.

Merry Christmas!!

I thought I would share the Johnson Christmas card with you all today. I wish that I could give one out to each and every one of you....and that I could get yours in return! Receiving Christmas cards is one of my favorite parts about Christmas. I put all of mine on my refrigerator and I love looking at them over and over again.
I hope all of you are enjoying this wonderful holiday and are able to spend it with those you love most! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Christmas Eve

I had a fun Christmas Eve, eve yesterday. Usually my life is so crazy in the days leading up to Christmas and I never get to just sit back and relax. This year I had everything done that needed to be done so I had a long lunch with Jaclyn then decided to go to the mall just for fun. While I was shopping around it started snowing so hard and it was so fun! It really added a little something special to the whole holiday spirit!
While I was out shopping I had so many people ask me when I'm due. I obviously got that a lot in Jamaica but that was a first for me back home. I've mentioned before that I wake up some days and I've really popped out and yesterday was one of them.
After I was finished browsing around the mall, Scott and I went out to dinner with his Dad at Bonefish. We came back home, enjoyed some Christmas movies on TV then hit the hay.
Today has been a bummer of a Christmas Eve and I totally blame the pregnancy hormones but I've been crying a lot. I miss my family and I'm ready to see them. Scott's been working all day so I've been home alone.....and there isn't even a good Christmas movie on TV to keep me entertained.
We're sticking around town to have dinner with Scott's mom tonight (Scott comes from the smallest family ever) then either super late tonight or very early tomorrow morning we're driving down to Little Rock to spend Christmas with my family. We're going to play it by ear. I just may get out and by myself a little "lift my spirits" present then come home and snuggle with my precious nuggets who are looking extra adorable in their Christmas sweaters today.
I hope you all are enjoying your Christmas Eve!

T'was The Weekend Before Christmas

Scott and I spent our weekend finalizing our Christmas shopping for everyone. It was raining on Saturday which kind of put a damper on shopping since our mall is outdoors. However, it wasn't nearly as crowded and we really didn't have to wait in many lines so it kind of worked out for the best! We took a break from shopping and had a delicious Mexican lunch at Mojitos where I left entirely too stuffed from the 3 fajitas I devoured! But not too stuffed to get a snickers caramel apple from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate favorite store at the mall.
We came home and I spent the rest of the evening wrapping all of our gifts while watching The Bee Movie (nothing else was on TV and honestly, I think that movie is so cute). Why does it take so long to wrap Christmas presents? I think I spent a little over 2 hours on it. Our Christmas tree now looks extra festive with all of our presents resting under them!
We spent our Sunday at Scott's grandparents house visiting with them and exchanging gifts. After that we came home and I did laundry for the rest of the day. It was a pretty low key weekend but sometimes those are the best kind. I can't believe that Christmas is in just a few days and that we're going to be ringing in a new year in just a little over a week. Just like every year before it, this one has flown by!

24 Weeks

Twenty four weeks pregnant today! I can't get over how fast the weeks are going by. Sometimes I want time to slow down. I love, love being pregnant and I think I'll be a little sad when it's all over with. Of course I'll have a precious baby boy to love on when that happens so I'm sure it won't be too sad huh? Here is my 24 week update!!

Size of Baby: 1 1/3 pounds and almost a foot long, about the size of an ear of corn.

How I'm Feeling: I feel really great except for one little thing. I have been getting the absolute worst lower abdominal pains almost every day this week. The first time it happened it hurt so bad I texted my doctor because I thought something was wrong. She told me it sounded like round ligament pains and that they were very common around this time. They last 30 minutes at the most but it's so painful it makes my knees feel like they're going to buckle. It's happened enough times now for me to know if I sit down right away it feels so much better and goes away fairly quickly. This makes Christmas shopping a challenge. I was with Scott at Target one of the times it happened and I literally plopped down on the gross floor in the middle of the aisle because I couldn't stand up anymore.

Cravings/Appetite: Last week I was eating everything in sight but this week my appetite has gone back to normal. I am still craving sweets and have visited the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory almost every day this week to get their avalanche bark. It's heaven. HEAVEN!!!

Clothes: Clothes are the same. My normal wardrobe still works (well.....some things no longer do) with a couple of maternity items thrown into the mix. I swear some outfits look cuter with a big belly to fill them out. I don't think I'll enjoy some of my winter wardrobe pieces nearly as much next year without the belly.
Movement: He's moving as I type this! I love my little mover. On Sunday night Scott and I were laying on the sofa watching our shows and he was kicking so hard so I decided to roll my shirt up to see if I could see it from the outside. Almost instantly he kicked me right by my belly button and it bulged up and out! I'll never forget it. I totally wasn't invested in any of our shows that evening because I was too busy watching my baby move!

Changes in Me: Things are very slowly getting a little more challenging. Shaving is harder. Tossing and turning in bed is harder. Taking my boots off is extra hard these days. My belly is starting to get in the way of me being able to easily do things.....and I still have so much farther to go!

Baby Purchases: We're purchasing our crib and dresser today!!! Plus a bunch of other items from Restoration Hardware as well. Sheets, changing pad and covers, a light fixture, stuffed animals, and a floor poof for the glider. It will be a fun day when all of it comes in and supposedly that's just 2 weeks from today!

Favorite Moment This Week: Watching Campbell move from the outside. There are certain moments throughout this pregnancy that I'll never forget and seeing that for the first time is one of them.

Looking Forward To: Christmas! This will be mine and Scott's last Christmas as just the two of us for the rest of our lives. I love our little Christmas together but I'm sure it will be much more fun in the years to come!

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Hello from one extremely tired lady. I couldn't shut my mind off last night and only managed to get about 3 hours of sleep. It's 6:45 and I can hardly hold my eyes open! I fully intend on climbing in bed in an hour and being asleep within two.
You can't really tell very well in this photo but this is a classic look in our house. Ivy and Madison are fighting over the squeaker that they managed to dig out of one of their toys. Squeakers are like gold with these two. They both want it and argue and cry when they other one won't share. Of course about 5 minutes after I took this picture they got tired, forgot about the squeaker and did what they do best---cuddled together.
I'd love to stay and chat but I might fall asleep mid-typing. Check back in tomorrow for my 24 week bumpdate!! Until then....

An Empty Tree

Who has gotten their Christmas shopping done? I'm failing big time but I'm slowly getting caught up. I don't have one single present wrapped under my tree. Partly because I only have two gifts to wrap but also....Ivy loves laying under the Christmas tree and I feel bad taking that away from her. The tree is starting to look a little sad without any presents under it though so I guess I'll wrap up a couple of things tomorrow.
Today I met my Mom in Clarksville with sweet little Grace. Our house always feels a little empty when Grace leaves us but luckily we'll get to see her in exactly one week from today. I decided on my way back up to NWA to stop in Fayetteville and do a little Christmas shopping. I popped in Carters to exchange a gift for a different size and they had a bunch of their spring/summer stuff out which means Campbell's pending arrival is getting closer and closer!!
Speaking of Christmas shopping, I've never had a hard time shopping for my nephew, Landon, but this year I have no idea what to get him. Has anyone seen a cool gift that an 8 year old would love? I need help and suggestions.....although I'm sure I'll just go with my classic and get him the ever so overpriced Legos that he loves.
These sweet, snuggly sisters are making me sleepy. I think I'll follow in their footsteps now and do what they're doing.

Car Seats & Strollers

Happy Monday everyone! Is it me or is December flying by? Scott and I had a great weekend. We had dinner with friends on Friday night and stayed up way past my bedtime. On Saturday Scott and I decided to go to The Baby's Room here in Rogers and pick out Campbell's car seat and stroller. I feel like we hit the jackpot because a guy from New York, who just so happens to be some kind of child safety person, was in there and he spent about 45 minutes with us going over anything and everything that has to do with car seats and the different companies that make them. It was amazing! We got our own little car seat safety course and had someone who knows everything about them give us an unbiased opinion on which car seat he thinks is best for us. We decided to go with the UPPAbaby Mesa car seat and I'm super excited about it!
I've heard great things about UPPAbaby in general and since we're going with the UPPA car seat, we're getting the stroller to match. I had pretty much planned on getting this stroller regardless because I think it's really cool and I've heard great things about it. Campbell will be cruising around in the Cruz!
I like that they're both a little more modern and less baby-ish. I'm so excited about getting this car seat and stroller! I used to feel bad for people who had to clutter their cars with car seats. Now I can't wait to have a car seat in my the little passenger that comes along with it!
On Sunday Scott and I went to Target to register for baby gear there. I thought that I had done enough research to know exactly what I needed and low and behold I'm still fairly clueless. She doesn't know it yet but I'm going to recruit my best friend, Jaclyn, and make her go with me to show me what all I need. The category that threw me the most was the pumping stuff. I was like ????
And that's mostly what my weekend consisted of. I'm sure to some of you that seems super uneventful (which I get because I was totally like that at one point) but it was so fun and exciting! Scott was even getting into it. This whole pregnancy I've always felt like my due date was so far away and after this weekend I feel like it's so, so close. And I still have SO much to do. Trying not to panic......

23 Weeks

Size of Baby: 1.1 pounds and 11 1/2 inches long, about the size of a large mango. I read that he's gaining about 6 ounces every week right now. He's definitely going through a growth spurt and I can totally tell!

How I'm Feeling: I've been getting really tired this week and haven't had as much energy as I have in the weeks prior. I know you start getting really fatigued when the third trimester hits but since that's still a few weeks away, I'm hoping Campbell is just having a big growth spurt this week and that's what's making me so tired. I've also been suffering from more heartburn than usual. It usually hits me about the same time every night and lasts until I fall asleep. It's not too horrible but it's a little bit uncomfortable. I'm hoping this heartburn means he's going to come out with a full head of dark hair just like his Mommy and Daddy did! With the exception of those two things, I feel really great!

Cravings/Appetite: I have been so hungry this week. Again, I'm thinking Campbell is having a big growth spurt. I've eaten way more this week than I usually do but I can't help it because I'm so hungry! Yesterday I had six (yes six!!) mini cupcakes from Fresh Market within about 20 minutes. I don't regret it.

Clothes: All of my regular clothes are still working for me. I wear a lot of Hue leggings and I love them because they're really comfortable---pregnant or not. I can still squeeze into all of my regular tops and dresses too. Of course I have a few maternity pants and tops that I wear all the time and the few things I have, I really like. I've surprised myself by how much I like showing my bump off. I always imagined I would wear looser fitting tops but I think the bump is cute right now and I love wearing tops that are a little tighter around my belly.
Movement: Oh you know it! I had my monthly doctors appointment yesterday and I was describing some of the things Campbell does and she told me a lot of women can't feel some of the things I'm experiencing. I'm so glad I can feel them!! I can usually tell what's a foot or head or bottom bumping up against me and it's so strong I sometimes lift up my shirt to see if I can see something from the outside. I haven't caught anything yet but I got an email today saying I should start seeing that any day now. I know I say it all the time but I just absolutely love feeling him moving around! It's hands down my favorite part about being pregnant.

Changes in Me: We measured my belly at the doctor for the first time and I measured at exactly 23 weeks. Other than what feels like an incredibly large belly, everything else is still normal. My skin is the same, my rings still fit, I'm not swollen anywhere and my belly button is still in. My hair is growing at super speed these days and I know it supposedly gets thicker but I haven't really noticed a change as far as that goes.

Baby Purchases: I have this thing where after every doctor visit, I leave and go straight to the store to get something new for Campbell. I found the sweetest little pale blue and white striped Polo pajamas yesterday. They're so tiny and soft.

Favorite Moment This Week: Even though we don't really do much, I always enjoy my doctor visits. It's just reassuring to know everything always looks good! I'm going back in three weeks then after that I'll start going every two weeks. We booked an appointment to do the 4D ultrasound while we were there. I don't really have high hopes for it because any pictures that I've ever seen from them haven't been very impressive to me but I still want to do it. Any chance to see my little guy, I'm taking!

Looking Forward To: Dinner. I'm starving y'all.

Snowflakes + Three Puppies

The girls got to play in the snow again today! I grabbed my good camera and took a couple of pictures of the little nuggets. They love the snow even though it's extremely difficult for them to walk in it!
Speaking of snow, it's really putting a damper on my Christmas cards. I ordered mine at the end of November, got an email saying they shipped out on the 3rd and they still aren't here!! I get on FedEx and track them about 3 times a day. They've been stuck in Memphis since Tuesday and it's really getting on my nerves. I'd appreciate it if they would get a little speedier with my Shutterfly package especially since the roads aren't even (that) icy anymore.
My neighborhood is having ladies night tonight so I need to get moving on making my appetizer. I'm going with ham and cheese sliders. I've made them before and they're so good. I hope we have a couple of leftovers because it sure would make a yummy lunch for tomorrow!!

Snow Shorkies

I've been reunited with my precious little girls and I'm so happy! I've never been away from them for that long and I missed them so much. I FaceTimed my Mom early this morning (we FaceTime a lot) and asked her if she'd be up for meeting me halfway with the girls and she said yes. I was a little nervous about driving on the ice but it wasn't bad at all. The interstate was completely clear and the drive down was so beautiful because the trees were covered in snow and ice.
Mom and I met in Clarksville like we usually do and sat in the Wendy's parking lot with the girls and had lunch (chili) together. The girls were very excited to see me! I bet they wondered when in the world I was coming back to get them. We decided to bring Grace back with us!
Almost as soon as we got home, the girls put on their snow coats and went outside to play! They've played in snow before but it wasn't nearly as much as what we have now. At first they weren't quite sure what to think about it and they cautiously walked around but it didn't take long before they were hopping around like bunnies all over the yard!
The last time we had snow I didn't put any coats or sweaters on the girls and the snow stuck to them and they looked like a big snowball with fur. I had to give all three a bath immediately and I felt sorry for them because I know they had to be freezing! This year I was prepared. They now have two different snow coats plus a t-shirt to wear under them so there's no way snow can get stuck to them now. It worked out much, much better for us!!
I'm sure we'll be playing in the snow a lot tomorrow! I'm glad they love it because they sure do look cute flopping around in it! Until tomorrow....

A Happy Ending

Another icy day trapped indoors. I'm glad I wasn't here for the first half of the snow storm or I'd be going crazy with cabin fever. I'm pretty sure I've done all there is to do around my house so I've officially reached the bored stage. A ride in the car with Scott, bundled up in my warmest clothes, with Starbucks in hand was literally the most exciting part of my day.
I have spent quite a bit of time at my mother-in-law's the last two days. Jodie had reconstructive surgery yesterday which completes this year long journey of her breast cancer. It's been a long, drawn out process and I'm glad that it's over with now. She's single and Scott's an only child so Scott and I have been a lot more involved with all of this than most children probably are in this type of situation. We stayed at her house last night and will be spending a lot of time with her this week while she recovers.
I put up Jodie's Christmas tree today. I decorate it for her every year. Last year after I decorated it, she sat us down and told us she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. While I was putting it up this year, I thought about the year we've all had going through this together, how I'm grateful that she's officially cancer free, and as soon as she feels better from this surgery all of this will be over with.
When Jodie had her first surgery at the beginning of the year, the doctor pulled me and Scott aside to inform us about what all we were dealing with. I broke down in his office because the diagnoses wasn't very good and I was so worried for the future. When all of this was said and done, the doctor told her she was extremely lucky to have the outcome she's had. We all agree it's not luck---it's the Grace of God. It's a blessing that you cannot even put into words. The year started out rough but it's finishing up with a happy ending.

Home To A Snow Village

Well we made it home! We were a little nervous about flying into such harsh winter weather here in NWA but thankfully we made it back without any problems. Our car was covered in snow and it took about an hour to drive home and it usually just takes us about 10 minutes. The roads are very slick!
I love, love winter weather. I know a lot of people don't but I just can't get enough of it. As long as I'm not completely stuck or without electricity, I'm a happy girl when snow and ice is present. It looks like I'm going to be trapped indoors for the majority (if not all) of the day. I think I'm going to take this opportunity to do some online Christmas shopping, research baby products and do some things around my house that normally wouldn't get done. And maybe I'll hang with some neighbors in between!
I sure do miss my sweet little girls. They stayed with my parents in Little Rock while we were in Jamaica and with the bad weather here and there I'm not able to get to them. It's been 8 whole days since I've seen them last and I'm so ready to get them back!! Our house is so quiet and uneventful without them here to entertain us. As soon as the roads clear up I'm going to meet my Mom halfway to get them. I know they're happy at their Pops and Gamma's house though. They've been enjoying looking out of the window and watching the little kiddos sled around the neighborhood. Hopefully there will still be plenty of snow for them to play in when they get back home! I know they'll have so much fun and they have new snow coats just waiting to get used!!

22 Weeks

When we booked this trip to Jamaica I was so curious to know what I would look like in a swimsuit at this point and if I would feel comfortable wearing one. To be perfectly honest, I kind of like being pregnant in a bikini. It's nice to just let my belly hang out and I don't have to worry about sucking in when I'm taking pictures. Scott has taken quite a few bump pics of me this week and I love that I have them. Even though it makes me a little (okay a lot) nervous to do it (these photos feel very personal!!) I thought I'd share a few of the swimsuit pics with you all today for this weeks update
Size of Baby: 11 inches and almost 1 pound, about the size of a spaghetti squash. I can't believe the little guy is a whole pound now! He's getting so big.

How I'm Feeling: I feel wonderful! The trip has been incredibly relaxing and I'm grateful I feel good and that I'm able to really enjoy it.

Cravings/Appetite: I've been eating tons of fruit (especially pineapple) and I'm loving all of the sweets at the breakfast buffet. Pina Coladas (rum free of course) have never tasted better to me. I probably have 4 a day.

Clothes: I've been able to wear a lot of my loose summer dresses at night and it's been very nice and comfortable! I brought a couple of maternity dresses that I bought at the Gap a few weeks ago. They were so loose in the stomach when I bought them and they fit perfect now. It's so crazy how much everything changes in just a few short weeks! I really like the way the dresses fit. They'll get worn a lot come April I'm sure!
Movement: Campbell loves to move! He moves more and more every few days and his little kicks get stronger and stronger. On Sunday night I was laying in bed and I felt him move completely to my right side. It was so crazy and so, so neat! I could feel his whole little body curled up in one spot and it made my eyes water and brought the biggest grin to my face. Sometimes it really hits me that I've got a little baby inside of me and it just overwhelms me with joy. He's done that quite a few times since then and I love it. My belly gets rock hard in the spot that he's decided to hang out in and the rest of it is softer. It's so amazing!
On Wednesday I was laying on the beach listening to music on my phone. I decided to put the little ear buds on my stomach to see what Campbell would do. Almost instantly he started kicking like crazy. I thought it was so cute and funny and then I got worried that maybe I scared him. What if he likes his quiet, cozy home and that music really upset and frightened him? I stressed over it for a solid hour and regretted doing it. Can you say paranoid? Just imagine what I'll be like when he gets here.

Change in Me: I haven't noticed anything real different this week. Other than an unmistakable baby bump, everything else is pretty normal!

Baby Purchases: You would think that being away on vacation on a Carribean island would keep me away from buying baby clothes but it hasn't. I had some Gap coupons that I could only use this week so I sent my Mom to get Campbell some outfits and I ordered a couple of things online that they didn't have in the store. I have a problem.....But I saved 50%!
Favorite Moment This Week: A couple of times a day Scott asks me what Campbell is up to. One of the times that he asked me that, Campbell was moving so Scott put his hand on my belly to feel him and goes "he's so cute." It made me laugh on the inside. We're already head over heels in love with this little guy and think that it's the most adorable thing in the world that he moves around. We're going to try really hard not to spoil him but I'm not promising anything.

Looking Forward to: Heading home tomorrow! I love going on vacation yet I always can't wait to get back home!

The Perfect View

This was my view all day long today. Isn't it beautiful? We found some different seats by the pool and we loved them. We're going to have to make sure we get out early tomorrow so we can claim them again!

We spent a lot of time today floating on rafts in the pool. The weather is SO HOT here that staying in the pool to keep cool is almost a necessity. Life is just really hard right now y'all.
Scott and I finally managed to get a photo together. We haven't taken any pictures together on this trip. Hopefully we can get a couple more before we leave.
We had a great dinner tonight. Our favorite restaurant, Seaside Grill, was open....finally. It's been closed the whole time we've been here for some reason. We're planning on eating there again tomorrow night because it's by far the best restaurant here.
That's about all I've got for today. Tomorrow is our last full day here. Only a few hours left to soak up the sun and sand before we return home to snow and cold!! Hopefully we can make it home. We're a little worried about it. Until tomorrow....

Pass The Pineapple

We're still having a lovely time here in Jamaica. We do the same thing every day. Eat breakfast, go to the pool, eat lunch, go back to the pool, change scenery and move to the beach, shower and get ready for dinner, eat dinner, come back to the room and go to bed. It doesn't sound very exciting but we're really enjoying it!!
Morning is my favorite time and the breakfast is so, so good. I'm honestly not very impressed with the food here but breakfast is wonderful. I look forward to it and kind of fill up quite a bit on it because I don't really eat a ton (or enjoy my meals very much) the rest of the day.
If you follow me on Instagram you've already seen this photo but I thought I'd share it here as well. Here I am poolside eating pineapple. I'm always eating pineapple! It's so amazingly delicious here. They have a big fruit cart walking around the resort all day and I load up on it and devour every piece. It tastes different here than it does in the US. It's also white instead of yellowish. Why do you think that is? I loved it the last time I came and it's even better this go-round. YUM!!! I can't get enough.
My husband is skipping the pineapple and loading up on Miami Vice's and Red Stripe's instead. Who can blame him?

Waking Up In Jamaica

Another great day here in Jamaica! Scott and I went to bed really early last night and we didn't wake up until 8 this morning. We obviously needed to catch up on some sleep! Fairly quickly after waking up, we put on our swimsuits, grabbed some breakfast then claimed our chairs by the pool. It was SO HOT here today so we only lasted in our chairs for about 10 minutes before we hopped in the pool.
After lunch and a little poolside nap, we decided to change scenery and lounge by the beach. We stayed there until the sun went down and it was wonderful! I may have also taken another nap at some point. Thankfully my husband doesn't care and graciously accepts my love for naps....and sleeping in general.
We dined at the Italian restaurant tonight then came straight back to the room to get ready for bed. We're so boring! Normally we enjoy the little entertainment shows that the staff puts on for the guests but this time we're being lazy and all we want to do is sleep. Maybe we subconsciously know that we're not going to get much of it soon so we're storing up! No complains from yours truly. Nothing thrills me more these days than crawling in bed super early and apparently being in Jamaica doesn't change that.

Jamaica Round 2

We've landed in Jamaica! Scott and I woke up at 4 am this morning to catch a 6 am flight to paradise! While we were boarding our flight, the flight attendant commented on my baby bump. That's the first time a stranger has said anything to me about it. I'm getting big y'all.
We landed in Jamaica around 1:15 and once we arrived at our resort we unpacked our bags, grabbed a pina colada and hit the beach until the sun went down! It feels so good to be back here!
We're pretty exhausted from the lack of sleep we've gotten today so we're turning in pretty early. I'm so looking forward to tomorrow. I can't wait to lounge by the pool all day, soak up the sun and drink one too many frozen, fruity beverages!
I'm going to try to blog all week because I like keeping up with and documenting my vacations. I'll be back long as the wifi here behaves!

21 Weeks

Today I enter my 6th month of pregnancy. I can't believe I'm 6 months pregnant! How did that happen? While I'm down here in Little Rock at my parents house, my Dad used his fancy camera equipment and took some bump photos of me in their backyard yesterday. Here is this weeks update!
Size of Baby: 3 quarters of a pound and 10 1/2 inches long or about the length of a carrot.

How I'm Feeling: I feel awesome! Other than the little one kicking inside of me and wanting to go to bed around 7:00 every night, I would never know I was pregnant.
Cravings/Appetite: Nothing unusual this week. My appetite has been pretty decent although I still eat less than I did pre-pregnancy. I haven't had any cravings but I did stumble upon a Chick-Fil-A chocolate chunk cookie for the first time last weekend and I've probably had 3 others since. They're Y-U-M.

Clothes: It finally happened. My jeans are officially too tight. I can technically still button them but I think I would be miserably uncomfortable wearing them all day. I attempted the rubber band trick but it wasn't comfortable either. I decided it was time to hang up my favorite jeans and embrace the maternity jeans. It will forever be easy for me to remember when my bump outgrew my clothes because it happened on Thanksgiving day.
Movement: Campbell moves so much! Last week I couldn't feel him when I was standing up but now I can. Having never been pregnant before I didn't know what to expect with the movements but he moves so much more than I realized babies moved. One day I decided to count how many times I could feel him and I counted 10 times in just 10 minutes!

Changes in Me: I weighed on Wednesday before we left for town and 21 weeks later I finally made it back to my pre-pregnancy weight. It's getting hard for me to put socks and boots on. I can totally see how pregnant ladies slowly gravitate towards shoes that they can easily slip their feet into. It's starting to feel like my back and torso are stretching in length and I may or may not have googled to see if it's possible to gain a few inches of height during pregnancy. The answer is no in case you're wondering. I could stand to gain an inch of length in my short torso so I was a tad disappointed to learn that's not what's happening.
Baby Purchases: We ordered our glider from West Elm today! The glider was one of the harder nursery decisions for me to make and I went back and forth between 4 different ones for the longest time. I copied my BF and got the same glider she has so I've already seen it in person which is nice. I chose a different color though so fingers crossed that it looks good.

Favorite Moment This Week: My family getting to feel Campbell moving around! Sometimes he gets shy and the second someone puts their hand on my belly he won't budge but he decided to show out for his family and kick extra hard for them. I love that they can feel him now! It's such a sweet thing to be able to share with them.
Looking Forward To: Jamaican paradise next week!! I'm so looking forward to laying by the pool, walking on the beach and drinking many pina coladas (sans the rum of course). Plus, a tan makes you look thinner and heaven knows I could use the help.
